Chapter 642: Toys and Weapons! Part III

Chapter 642: Toys and Weapons! Part III

“Acting captain, our speed is over one Mach already.”

Mek reminded him while gritting his teeth. He held on to the controller so tightly like never before. This might be the riskiest mission that he had done since he started this job. However, he had had this kind of experience before when he was fighting Poseidon and Gaia!

“Good. Stabilize the speed!” Manoch shouted.

His eyes were fixed on the target.

“They shot the cannons. What should we do?” Aerin warned.

“No need to dodge. Cannons can’t do anything to us. We only have to embrace the impact.”

Then, the ship shook so harshly because a ray from the cannon just hit the bottom of it. However, it only bounced off with so little damage, even less than a hundred!

“Gungnir?” Manoch muttered. “What about it? Do you think this can stop us? This ridiculous weapon can’t do shit!!”

His words echoed in the bridge while the ship was still shaking like crazy from the attack. The eyes of the rest of the operators sparkled. Their hearts raced, yet they did not feel fear. It was only the excitement.

“We’ve reached the appointed distance, acting captain!”

Warunya turned to him. Manoch took a deep breath and raised his hand up.

“The Sonata of Resonance.”

Manoch’s words got Alexander moving. On both sides of the ship, two giant cannons appeared. They glowed brightly white.

The big monitoring screen in the bridge showed the image of Gungnir and over sixty smaller turrets that surrounded the ship. All of them were locked on by the system immediately!

“They’re all locked, acting captain!” Warunya said.

“Fire!!!” Manoch swung his hand.

BOOM!!!

In the blink of an eye, both cannons fired. There were only two white rays at first before they split into hundreds and hit the targets.

The powerful attacks destroyed all the turrets so easily!

----------------

“L... Leader, all sixty turrets have been destroyed!”

“W... What?!”

William screeched. He could not even hide the anxiety on his face. He stared at the screen. The ship did not seem to slow down at all. It was still dashing at the control room as if to commit a Kamikaze act!

“Fire Gungnir! They can’t dodge if we do it now!”

“We can’t! We just fired it just now. The cannon will break if we force it!”

William gave out a wry ugly face.

“D... Damn it! Just do something!!”

----------------

“The enemy’s cannons are out, acting captain!”

Aerin gritted her teeth. The speed of the ship got her stomach squeezing.

“We’re about to reach the appointed position, acting captain,” Warunya said.

“...Mek, lift the ship up!” Manoch shouted.

“Roger that!!”

The driver screeched and pushed the controller up with all his might. He would actually use his feet to help, too, if he could! Even though the ship had been modified to balance more when flying, it was too fast to break and be lifted up.

It was impossible to lift the ship up without crashing into the Gungnir and killing both.

Yes! That was the others’ case, not the Nemesis’s!

“Every main cannon aims at Gungnir,” Manoch commanded.

“Every cannon aims,” Warunya repeated the order.

Every missile was pointed down at the enemy’s weapons as soon as the order was stated. Everyone grinned. They had been through this before, so why not again?!

“Fire!!”

BOOM!!!

Countless rays were shot out of the ship. There were almost fifty missiles. The kickback of the cannons got Alexander to lift the head up just in time.

BOOM!!!

49,566,774

The missiles caused so much damage to Gungnir that its tip finally cracked. The supporting rack was broken, and the cannon leaned to the side.

Alexander eventually slowed down when it was back to normal. No one paid attention to Gungnir anymore. Since it was on fire right now, it proved that the cannon would not be fired again.

“With that ridiculous toy, you don’t have to destroy the whole thing,” Manoch said in a cheerful voice. “You only need to break some of the screws until it can’t work properly. It seems you don’t know the difference between a weapon and a toy, William. And that’s why you’re using it against my baby. It’s way too soon to do that!”

He adjusted his glasses. The rest of them glanced at him and giggled. Once in a while, Manoch had a chance to be this cool.

“It seems you’ve already lost the war, chicken shit.”

----------------

“It’s like what Miguel said. They have such a grand opening scene.”

Nero laughed. He stared at the ship with interest. Allen slapped his knee to express his extreme impression of the recklessness of the Nemesis.

“Fly beyond the atmosphere and drop? How could they even think of that? So cool.”

Nero smiled at his partner.

“It looks like the ship’s been strengthened up pretty nicely. According to Ms. Emilia’s report after the fight with the Nemesis last time, it wasn’t this good. The golden sparks must be the Over Limit that Ms. Emilia talked about, right?”

“Over Limit?” Allen raised his eyebrow. “You’re saying a giant ship like that can have one, Nero?”

“Every weapon at level seven and above can do it.” Nero shrugged. “That ship’s considered one of the greatest weapons. It seems like they have great mechanicians in the team, as expected of Vincent. They’re good at everything.”

Allen let out laughter and turned to the ship again.

“You’re right. Comparing that to William’s shoddy cannon, they’re a polar opposite. I must admit that they also have a great rider, too.”

“Yes.” Nero adjusted his glasses. “Now that the weapons and the pawns are ready. I really want to know what they’ll do next. This is going to be entertaining.”

----------------

“We’re in their territory now. We can only detect less than thirty living signals. One of them is Marcus, who’s fighting on the west side.”

A sweet voice rang while looking at the image on the monitoring screen in front of her. They could see the fight from afar with so many explosions and magic. Everyone made a wry face, especially Manoch.

“I think we better not go that way. I just fixed the ship, and I don’t want to risk it being damaged by that man again.” He scratched his face.

“You’re right.” Warunya secretly smiled.

“Acting captain, the image from the city is ready. I’ll put it up on the big screen.”

As soon as Aerin finished talking, the footage from another camera was shown on the screen. The debris from the war was everywhere. There were so many corpses on the ground that it looked like fish in contaminated water.

The girls all covered their mouths.

Manoch pressed his lips and sighed.

“Are we too late?” Aerin asked.

Manoch turned to her before he turned on his communication tab and contacted the real captain. Maysa’s face popped up on the screen again.

“You see the footage I sent?” Manoch asked.

“Mhmm.” Maysa nodded worriedly.

“Do you really want that?”

The captain fell silent as if she was thinking about something before she smiled.

“I believe our leader would do this as well if he were here with us,” Maysa said. “William’s shown us his standpoint, so we’ll show ours. I know you agree with me, too, deep down. So, do what you want because that’s how the Nemesis is.”

Everyone in the bridge looked at each other and smiled. Manoch took such a deep breath that he swayed backwards.

“Speed up Alexander to the max. Before we run out of the Over Limit, we’ll sprinkle the special particles down to recover everything!”

“Yes, sir!”

The acting captain got everyone so hyped up. His best friend on the screen winked at him.

“I’ll leave the rest to you, acting captain.”

“You, too, be ready. Aerin almost gets the enemy’s signal now.”

“Yes, siirrrr, acting captain.”

She said and cut off. Manoch looked around the room and nodded at everyone.

“Heat up the MSS to the max!”
