Chapter 641: Toys and Weapons! Part II
Chapter 641: Toys and Weapons! Part II
“The attack with our main cannon was accurate. The target was significantly damaged. However, we don’t know how much HP it possesses just yet.”
A report was loud on the bridge. The operator looked at the image of the cannon on the screen with so much information. Then, she turned to the man behind her. He grinned back.
The short-haired man in glasses was there. He used to be the leader of the mechanics and now was promoted to an ‘acting captain’ because his best friend had to prepare herself in the ejecting tube and get ready to go into the field.
Personally, he was fine with it since everyone agreed that he knew the most about this ship. Even though he was not as skilled as May in fighting, he was confident that he could at least take down William!
“We got the information and will send it to you, acting captain.”
“Thank you, Ms. Aerin.”

“Gungnir?”
The acting captain raised his eyebrow and laughed. He pushed his glasses up and sighed.
“Odin’s spear? This name’s too good for a fool.”
Beep! Beep!
Then, a security alarm rang. Warunya rushed to check on it.
“Acting captain, we detect that we’ve been locked on by thirty... no, fifty firearms!” Warunya cried.
“There’re turrets around the Gungnir. They appear to be the Nightingale Swize and over fifty missiles. What should we do?”
The glasses man scratched his cheek. The monitor showed the only area that could still be called ‘the city’. There were so many turrets on the ground. Manoch smiled at them.
“Don’t worry. They can’t do anything to our improved baby.”
He took a deep breath.
“Warning to everyone. Gain your footing because we’ll be flying through turbulence. Tell the front line to be ready in two minutes. We’ll make sure to send them off well!”
The two girls looked at each other and went back to work.
“Mek,” Manoch called the man in the front.
“What?”
“Take this baby out for a warm-up. Start at thirty percent speed.”
Hearing that, Mek beamed and pushed the controller forward.
“You bet!”
Alexander dashed into the city immediately. The golden particles around it glowed even brighter. It was so fast that it had now become a giant bullet!
As expected, once they got into the city, over ten cannons shot at them. Countless guided missiles surrounded the ship that it was impossible to dodge!
“Acting captain, the cannons and the missiles are coming at us!” Warunya screamed.
“Calm down, Orn. This is nothing.” Manoch raised his hand up so calmly. “Dance for them, baby. Show them what you’ve got!”
“Sure thing, my friend!”
Then, Mek flipped the ship around, making the girls in the bridge cry out in panic. Alexander easily dodged every ray.
Once they reached where the missiles were, Manoch narrowed his eyes and shouted at the new magic controller.
“Shoot the dispersed magic bullets at all of them!”
“Y... Yes!”
Then, the thunder magic rushed out of the ship and destroyed every single missile out there. The explosion caused so much smoke and dust. Alexander flew past it without a single scratch!
“Not bad, acting captain. This means we can totally rely on you!” Warunya said.
“Of course, Orn!”
Manoch smiled and turned to the turrets that kept shooting at them. The rays did not even come close to the ship. It was good to get Mek to practice with the flying simulator for almost two days straight.
The new baby was pretty fractious. It would be hard without a good rodeo.
“Ae.”
While Alexander was still dodging the bullets, Manoch got a call from Maysa, whose facial expression was clearly sulky.
“What? Don’t interfere just yet, lady. And call me acting captain.”
“Stop having so much fun with the flying. Search for the enemy for me, quick!”
Maysa shouted. The acting captain pouted with dissatisfaction. He glanced at Aerin and she nodded immediately.
“We’ll detect everyone in the city in twenty seconds,” Aerin said.
“You heard that?” Manoch gave her a look.
“Don’t play around. Release us down and destroy that big cannon as fast as you can. It seems it needs a cooldown after each launch. If it shoots again, we’re doomed.”
“I know, I know.”
The man waved. The girl sighed before cutting off.
“She never truly trusts me.”
He complained softly before turning back to the situation.
Beep! Beep!
The alarm rang from Warunya’s computer again. It seemed like it was bigger this time, judging from her face!
“Captain, we’re locked on again. This time, it’s from the Gungnir.”
“What?”
BOOM!!!
Suddenly, the red energy ball was shot from the giant cannon again. Even though it was smaller this time, there were over eighty rays splitting out and dashing at the ship.
They were clearly guided rays!
“Dodge it with fifty percent speed, quick! Don’t even go close to them. These must be designed to destroy our ship.”
“Roger that!”
Mek shouted. He gritted his teeth and pushed the gear up to raise the speed of the ship. The gigantic ship raised its head up at ninety degrees before flying away from the red rays. Of course, it did not work, since the rays were still tailing them!
The agility of the ship was surprising, but how it was about to go beyond the earth’s ozone layer was even more shocking. The rays seemed to be further away since Alexander was a lot faster.
The players in the bridge gritted their teeth because the immense pressure was pressing them down and they were about to drown in their chairs. In the blink of an eye, the sight before them was stars and a black sky!
“Are we this high up?”
Three magic controllers murmured with surprised faces. The rest of them seemed to be used to this kind of thing. Manoch looked back at the rays and smiled.
“Now, Ms. Aerin! Shoot the dummy bullets!”
“Dummy bullets, shoot out!!”
Alexander shot the missiles out of the rear. It was a strange-looking one that split into a high-energy heatwave after the launch. It was even shaped like the ship itself!
The time was just right because the rays caught up to them.
BOOM!!!

“Gungnir’s attack was accurate!”
“Excellent!”
William shouted with extreme satisfaction. He saw the infographics on the monitor showing that the rays from Gungnir just hit Alexander and the special camera was displaying the image of smoke and dust that were so thick no one could see through it.
“It’s done. The Nemesis isn’t as good as people say, it seems. I’ve already checked your ship’s information and status since the last war! This is what you get for defying God’s spear, trash!”
He sat down again. The soldiers smiled with relief.
There was this one operator who still locked her eyes on the monitor to check on something. She could see that something was off. Even though the ship had been destroyed, she could still see the golden light.
Beep! Beep! Beep!
The alarm rang again. William sprang up from his seat.
“W... What is it now?!” He screeched.
“W... We detect the heatwave that isn’t from the rays. It’s been confirmed...” She opened her mouth widely. “...That it’s from the enemy’s ship. And it’s dashing at us with one Mach speed!”
“What?!” William opened his eyes widely. “Are they crashing at us?!”
He gritted his teeth. He truly hated how hard the Nemesis was to kill.
Were they ghosts? Why were they so hard to die?!
“Fire the cannons. We can’t dodge that speed!”
