Chapter 622: The Last Training Part IV

Chapter 622: The Last Training Part IV

“W... Wait, what about the others?” Wisana asked.

“We’ll let them commence first and we’ll follow,” Baron said and walked up to the edge of the tower. “And Tristan is this close. We can go at any time. What I’m worried about more is you, Vincent.”

She glared at Wisana. He sighed softly.

“And what is it for today, pretty aunty?” He grinned.

“You’re very good with your level and Signetic control. I don’t have to teach you anymore.” She sighed. “But it’s not good enough. You can’t win against Lucius like this.”

“Lucius?” Wisana raised his eyebrow. “...Is he that good?”

“....” Baron did not reply right away. She turned the other way and murmured softly. “Only 30%.”

“What’s 30%?”

“Our chance to win.”

Not only Wisana but also Sarquros and Mona Lisa could sense Baron’s trembling voice. They knew right away that it was not a threat. It was the ugly truth that even Baron had to accept it.

“Only 30%?”

Wisana asked. His voice was so stressful that Baron giggled.

“You can make that kind of face, too?” She laughed. “Don’t think much about it. It’s not ‘only’, but ‘as much as’ 30%. Remember this, Vincent, even if we only have a 0.01% chance to win, we have to fight. Even if we lose our limbs, we have to scramble our way to them. Once you give up, that’s when you’re dead.”

The boy swallowed his saliva. Baron grinned and put her hand on Wisana’s shoulder before walking back inside.

“And don’t worry. Even though our chance is dim, I’m still confident that we’ll win.” She smiled and stood behind the two dragons. “Now, let’s see if this training will give us more chance. And that’s up to you, little Vincent, and you, pretty girls.”

Baron pushed the girls forward. Sarquros let out a “Wahh!” when she was slapped on the butt.

“Grandmother, what do you want us to do?”

Mona Lisa quickly grabbed her father’s arm and asked. Baron seemed to like how she called her ‘grandma’ so much she could not hold her smile.

“The first day of training is easy.”

She threw a few items at Vincent. He grabbed them so easily and the girls turned to look at them. They were all his stuff: the Element wristband, the Darkness collar, and the Butterfly Effect ring.

“You’re giving me permission to use these now?” Wisana asked with a smile.

“Be my guest.” Baron crossed her arms. “Use them to the fullest. Use everything that you guys have or you’re dead.”

The man, who was putting on the items, froze. The girls also glanced at him as if they knew what Baron meant.

“And that training is...” The amber eyes glared at them. “You three come and fight me. If only one of you can stabilize your consciousness for five minutes straight, you pass the test and I’ll move on to the next.”

“Hahaha... Fight you? Wait, what if we die?”

“You won’t know if you don’t try.”

Swoooosh~

It was like a breeze. Baron vanished from where she stood in the blink of an eye and appeared again behind all of them, fast and quiet!

“Too slow!”

Swoooosh!

Baron called up her Claymore sword and swung at all three of them with all her might. Wisana was the fastest. He snatched Mona Lisa’s waist and dodged the sword by leaning away from it. Sarquros was already gone from there with her wild animal instinct.

“Wait, wait, are you for real? Wouldn’t I be hospitalized for weeks if I died? And Samie can’t die, hag, she’ll forever disappear!”

“And?”

Baron tilted her head as if to annoy him.

“Would Lucius and his people listen to you?”

Hearing that, the man halted. He could not talk back. Judging from her determined eyes, she was serious!

“I won’t repeat it. Keep your focus straight or you die.”

Baron vanished again and reappeared again behind Wisana.

“Love!”

Sarquros screeched. Wisana let go of Mona Lisa and called up his fire katana sword with a speed equal to Baron’s.

“I know how you move now!”

Slash!

He did not hesitate to swing the sword behind him. It was a split second that he got to Baron before she did to him. He did not miss the target. The only problem was that she was not there.

“Remember, there’s always a good trick behind a trick.”

Baron said softly behind Wisana. The man got goosebumps without even knowing!

The figure that Wisana just slashed slowly faded away into particles. The real thing was actually behind Wisana. Baron used the mirage to trick Wisana, which worked really well!

“It’s the first round and you’re dead.”

Wisana was blacked out by that attack with a completely drained HP. The tall figure was thrown off and slipped on the floor. Baron only sighed.

“Love!”

Samie could only scream. Before Sarquros realized it, she gritted her teeth and called up her giant scythe before jumping at Baron.

The silver-haired lady did not even turn to look at her. She dodged the attack with her incredible speed. While Sarquros was trying to get on her feet again, Baron took the chance to dash at her.

“Too many unnecessary movements. I know you’re confident with your defense, but with a very strong opponent, only a single blow can be fatal. Remember that.”

Thunder Slash

Crash!

The hit did not miss. A big thunder struck at Sarquros along with the sword and slashed at her arm. So much crimson blood was shed. Even though the dragon girl did not die, with the powerful hit, the dragon girl easily lost her focus.

The dragon girl slowly dropped to the ground and lay still on the floor.

“F... Father!” Mona Lisa’s voice trembled.

Seeing her father like that, she turned to look at her mother.

“Mother...”

Silence was only her answer. Before she realized it, Baron was standing right in front of her. When their amber eyes met, the girl was struck with fear that made her eyes teary.

“D... Don’t come near me.”

Baron could only sigh.

“There’s no mercy in the battlefield. The only way to stand up against it was your consciousness. Without it, you’re dead.”

Without mercy, Baron flicked the little girl’s forehead with all her might, which cost her a lot of HP. The girl was bounced off to her parents’ side immediately.

Baron looked around and saw that everyone had collapsed. She, then, opened up the information screen to look at the time.

“You all lost your consciousness in forty-five minutes.” She let out a long sigh. “It seems there’s still a lot to do, especially little Mona Lisa.”

She dismissed the Claymore sword in her hand and crossed her arms to think about something.

“Are you sure this is good, Viola, that you go all out on the first training? Not only they won’t be able to follow your trick, but keeping up with your incredible speed is also very hard for them.”

A sweet voice rang, and Baron smiled slightly.

“This is good.” She said. “They need to get used to this speed. I’m faster than Lucius. If they can keep up with me, Lucius is going to be a piece of cake.”

“That’s what I’m worried about.” The sweet voice rang wearily. “You never explain anything to them and keep attacking. If I hadn’t changed here to another dimension, Wisana would have respawned at the hospital. Doing this again and he won’t want to train with you anymore.”

The more she listened to it, the more Baron chuckled. She pushed her hair back and grinned. Everything about her was scary!

“This is my way of training. Let them taste hell until they’re used to it so that they won’t feel a thing when they have to face even more obstacles in the future.”

Hearing that, the owner of the sweet voice sighed so wearily.

“That’s exactly what I’m worried about. Please don’t think that everyone’s like you, Ms. War Goddess.”

“Hey, a son of a goddess is a god, too, Alice. And believe me, next time he wakes up, it’ll be even more fun. You know, these guys can do more in the worst situation.”

“Yes, yes, whatever serves you right, Guardian Viola.” She said and sighed again.
