“Let me guess, the decoy is none other than me?”

“Or are you confident that you can destroy that pillar in one hit?”

Wisana froze. It pained him to think that his weapons had all been taken away from him. If he was not a decoy, He would be completely useless in the fight!

“Fine. I’ll be a decoy. But before that...”

The same noise of disaster sounded again; Wisana went pale.

His face was twisted in fear. However, the quiet man calmly opened up the item box, while the magic characters started to form at their feet. He grabbed another item and threw it in another direction.

It was a small ball. As soon as it landed on the ground, it turned into a human scarecrow. It dressed like a matador with a red cloth in his hands.

The quiet man scolded him. Was he born from a megaphone? So noisy!

The screeching of the magic characters forming got louder. However, it was moved to where the scarecrow was.

The fierce explosion occurred again, and the scarecrow was torn to shreds. Wisana could not help but imagine himself as that unfortunate scarecrow.

“That was close,” Shin muttered.

Shin scolded and threw a strange-looking potion at Wisana. It looked like a medicine bottle in real life.

“What the heck. You can’t take jokes.” Wisana frowned. “What is this, then?”

“A speed potion. It’ll increase your speed for two minutes.”

The bullets were still shot at the bunker restlessly.

“Drink it and be a good decoy.”

“Hey, do you really want me to do that?”

Wisana screeched. He looked at his friend and saw in his eyes that he was not kidding. Wisana swallowed his saliva.

“Good. Then, I’ll drink the power potion and get Anubis. I’m sure the pillar will stop shooting if we can do a lot of damage to Anubis.”

He raised the bottle in his hand. The potion was bright red, which made Wisana smile awkwardly. Now it was like another medicine for an upset stomach. It would be ideal if it truly was an antacid to soothe his stomach, as now he felt like he was about to throw up from all this shooting!

“Let me recharge for ten seconds. You hold this. If it uses the explosion magic again, throw it.”

Shin handed him the scarecrow ball, and he confusedly grabbed it.

*A scarecrow that can be used as a decoy for any kind of magic. It’ll be gone once it’s attacked. (It costs 25,000 coins each.)

Shin did not hesitate to put the red potion in his mouth. Seeing that, Wisana had to gather all his courage and drink his white potion. That was when he immediately thought about searching for something to clean the inside of his mouth. As for Shin, even though he seemed nonchalant, he also clenched his fists so tightly because of the terrible taste in his mouth.

“Yuck... It tastes just like medicine. I want to puke.”

“Stop complaining. Okay, now, after I recharge...”

He had not finished his sentence when the sound of Anubis’s magic rang again. The boys were startled. Wisana immediately threw the scarecrow to the side, and it was effective. The puppet caught in scorching flames. The fire was so big that it was hard for Wisana to swallow his saliva.

“After I recharge, I’ll send you a signal. Just let it try to cast spells to destroy this bunker since the machine gun will stop for a while when it does that. Right then, you run to the other side and lure the bullets there. I’ll take care of both Anubis and the pillar.”

“Wait,” Wisana recalled something and grabbed Shin’s wrist. “I remember that you drop dead after using the final blow?”

The quiet man was silent when he heard that. He, then, nodded.

“Yes.”

“What? What about after that? Wouldn’t it be the end for both of us? I can’t take him down alone.”

“Don’t worry.” Shin stared at him. “This is the chance for me to test how skilled I am right now with this spear.”

‘And why does it have to be noww~~!!’

Wisana wanted to scream, but he could not resist those determined eyes. And Shin’s final blow would be the best option now.

Meanwhile, Shin went back and focused on his Longinus again. Wisana had to draw the magic’s attention to the scarecrow from time to time. Anubis cast the spell way too frequently!

“Shin, faster! We’re running out of the puppets!”

“Don’t rush me. I need to focus.”

Shin said determinedly. It proved how much he was concentrating on his weapon. Wisana threw another ball out. There were only two of them left!

“Shiiiin! We’re running out!”

“Just a little bit more...”

Shin murmured. Wisana threw another ball.

The flames exploded again. The room was now in ruins. It had been almost a minute, and it was strangely slow for Shin. Finally, Wisana had to sacrifice the last puppet!

“We’re out. Quickly do something or we’re all dead!”

Even with the annoying voice of his friend, he was still a hundred percent calm. His face broke into a sweat, at the same time as another bomb that burnt the last puppet to bits.

Silence overtook the place. Wisana and Shin did not say anything. The light bullets still hit the bunker restlessly. Anubis was still staring at them.

The screeching noise of the spell sounded again, catching Wisana off guard. His heart beat so fast. He had never been in this fearful situation before. Maybe it was because this was the first time that he had to depend on someone.

“Shin, the magic’s here.” He said so smoothly as if nothing was happening.

“Mhmm.” The quiet man said.

The sound got louder. Wisana excitedly looked back and forth between the enemy and his friend. And at that moment, the lavender eyes sprang open!

“This is it, Vincent. Go!!”

Shin shouted so loudly that Wisana came to his senses in the blink of an eye. The boy gritted his teeth tightly and ran out of the bunker!

When Anubis cast the spell, the machine gun would stop temporarily. At the moment that Wisana ran out, Anubis noticed him and froze. His red eyes stared at him and ordered the pillar to fire!

“W... Woahhh! Even with faster speed, it’s still risky!”

Wisana screeched while he dodged the bullets like crazy. He tried his best as a decoy, which worked really well.

Both Anubis and the pillar targeted him alone.

Without them realizing it, another man with lavender eyes just came out of the thick smoke. Even though the bunker had already been destroyed in a single blow, Shindanai was totally fine.

His sharp eyes looked at the targets. His rough hands held the spear in a tight grip.

He compressed his lips and held his breath. He balanced himself on the ground.

“Go to hell!!”

He threw his spear forward with all his might!
