Chapter 600 - 5 Hell Stages Part IV

Chapter 600 - 5 Hell Stages Part IV

They were being watched!

They cautiously moved closer to each other. They just knew that danger was about to befall them, especially when they thought of Maysa’s warning “The quieter, the more dangerous”. It should be one of the official strategies for this game.

“What do we do now? We don’t know where the exit is yet. Should we fight?” Wisana whispered.

“I think so. There should be only one enemy...”

Whooosh~

At that moment, in the complete darkness, two glowing red lights shone through it. They were obviously the eyes of the said enemy. Wisana and Shin glanced at each other. Judging from the distance of the glowing red lights and the floor, the enemy should not be too big.

Yes, it would not be a problem if it was only 3-4 feet tall.

But there were tons of them!!

The glowing lights multiplied endlessly. There were roughly 60–70 of them here.

“D... Does this look like one enemy for you?” Wisana asked.

“...” Shin was speechless. He only opened his mouth widely in shock.

“Are you here for a class reunion?” Wisana swallowed his saliva. “...This is pain!”

----------------

“Fire eaters?!”

It was Stella who shouted. Her blue eyes stared at the masked woman who was still sitting there with a straight face.

“Yes, fire eaters.” She said. “Because it was completely dark on that floor. If there’s only a small source of light, they’ll definitely charge at it like their lives depend on it. They can do anything to get to the light.”

“What exactly is it, the fire eater?” Stella raised her eyebrows.

“I can’t say for sure. They look like goblins. They’re a fire monster with a little over level 80, I think. They’re what this dungeon is proud of, though.”

Baron laughed happily. She thought about the two boys and imagined how they should be running their asses off as they spoke.

“Eh... And how did you walk past that floor without lighting the fire?”

“Easy.” Baron pointed at her nose. “There’s only one kind of flower there, which is a Chinese rose, that emits one unique smell. I just followed the smell and reached the exit without having to light any fire.”

“Really? I couldn’t smell anything back then.”

The masked lady grinned.

“For those who’re very good at smelling, this is nothing.”

It sounded incredible to Stella because she did not smell anything at all right then. The smell of grass was the strongest there. This lady’s nose was even better than a dog’s!

“But it shouldn’t be a problem if the monsters are at level 80,” Stella said.

“Yeah, there’s no problem with that. The real problem is that they come in a pack. There should be more than a hundred of them in one.”

“A hundred!”

The nurse yelled out. The older woman grinned.

“They should be having so much fun right now.”

----------------

“Shit! How many are they? Are they all here to protest against the government about the lack of vegetable oil in the market?!”

He screamed and glanced at the back. Seeing the tragedy that was befalling him, he ran even faster like his life depended on it. The tall figure had to brush all the tree branches off his way and tried to avoid narrow paths. Meanwhile, the other boy kept kicking the enemies off him.

They were like small human beings. They were no more than 3 feet tall with dark skin color and dressed like barbarians. They even wore a big tribal mask on their face and held a spear or a knife in their hand!

“Shin, stop messing around and keep running!” Wisana yelled at his friend.

“Do you know the way? Are you sure that’s the way out?”

Wisana had to bend down to dodge the fire eater who suddenly rushed at him from the front. It even screamed “Keee~!” at him. Of course, Wisana would not let it hurt him!

“I don’t know, but it’s better than standing still and letting these psychopaths get to you!”

“Then, I want to tell you something, Vincent!”

“What is it this time?”

Wisana annoyingly shouted back at Shin after dodging another fire eater.

“Maybe you haven’t realized it yet, but we’re running around in a circle right now. You’ve come back to where you started.”

“Really?!”

Wisana screeched. He did not even realize that he was running in a circle, while the other man was calm and tried his best to memorize everything he possibly could!

“Then, what should we do? We can’t stop and search for the exit. It’s not funny to run like this forever!”

Wisana was desperate. The calm man still looked around him as if nothing was happening.

Suddenly, right when he accidentally left the opening, an enemy dashed out at him from the blind spot. Shin could not guard it in time, so he was attacked at his hand, making the torch drop.

Judging from the numbers of the enemy, he thought it was better to leave the torch there instead of picking it up. However, the enemy’s strange behavior caught his attention. Some of them stopped chasing him and went straight to the torch on the floor. The first one that reached the torch bent down and took a mouthful of the torch fire, putting it out right away.

Seeing that, Shin frowned tightly. His sharp wit analyzed the situation in only seconds.

He had heard of this before. They were monsters that were attracted to fire.

The fire eaters!

“Vincent, drop your torch!” Shin shouted.

“What!? Why? Can’t you see we’re blind in here? How do we look for the exit without it?”

“We’ll think about it later, but you have to drop the torch. They’re fire eaters. They always follow the light. As long as it’s there, they’ll never stop chasing us!”

Wisana blinked and glanced back. He noticed that a lot of them had stopped chasing Shin since he was not holding the torch anymore. He was the only one who was chased right now.

“Fire eaters? Damn, who designed this stage?”

“Whatever, Vincent, drop the freaking torch!” Shin repeated.

Wisana gritted his teeth tightly. If he dropped it, he would not be able to see anything. What would he do, then? Without the light, going down to the next floor was impossible.

What should I do? Think!

Fire eaters... They followed the light...

They only followed the light... Yes, only the light!

“You like fire that much, moths!” Wisana shouted. “Come and get it, then, you son of a bitch!”

He called magic fireballs out of his palm and burned the torch before he threw them at the tree next to him. The sound of the explosion echoed.

BOOM!!

The blaze was wide-range. One by one, the trees started to be engulfed in flames. It was just like what he had expected. The fire eaters got distracted and turned to the flaming trees. They dashed towards the fire and made the ‘Keee’ noise while eating happily.

“We should search for the exit before these lights are put out, Vincent.”

Shin walked up to him. However, Wisana gave him a mischievous smile, which made Shin halt.

“I have a better plan, my friend.”
