Chapter 584: A Surprising Improvement! Part I
Chapter 584: A Surprising Improvement! Part I
“W-What time is it?”
The voice was so hoarse as if he had not drunk anything for years.
“Eight at night.”
The other voice was so brusque as if he did not want to talk.
The two figures were lying on the floor, so worn out that they looked like pieces of rags. The first one was covered with bruises. His eyes could barely stay open. He could not even move normally. The second one was the same, but with so many curses and abnormalities that he could barely feel alive!
They lay on the floor with their heads next to each other. Wisana tried to give another man the blue potion to get rid of the curses, but it was so hard for him as if he was trying to climb a mountain bare-handedly.
“My last one. If you want it, trade with your pixie potion.”
“Can’t I get one for free?”
Shindanai said while clumsily passing Wisana the pixie potion. It was the most struggling trade in history.
They drank the potion and threw the bottle away like a drunkard who was apparently ‘so drunk’ that they could not move anymore.
“Where are we now?” Wisana asked.
“The eighteenth or nineteenth level, I’m not sure,” Shin answered and put his arm on his forehead.
“We’ve gone this far in such a short time?” Wisana made a wry face.
“Or we wouldn’t be in this state.”
Wisana flipped to the side and sighed.
“Shin, do you have some chocolate?” He asked.
“Nope.”
“Take a good look. Maybe you have some.”
“I’m not into sweets.”
Wisana moaned. He really wanted something sweet, it was driving him crazy.
“I want some chocolate so muchhhh.”
“Are you suffering from a withdrawal or something?”
Wisana did not care what Shin said. It was true that he really liked eating sweets right after a good exercise. Sugar relaxed his brain after it had been used for so long in a fight, especially for someone who mostly depended on his own instincts.
This was the first time that they got to lie down after eight hours of a non-stop fight. They felt like every part of them was crumbling to pieces. Thanks to Stella who said that they were at their limit already and that the training should be paused for now or they would get the ‘faint’ status. Players who got the status would sleep for a whole day to recover.
That was why they got to rest for now.
“If it’s still like this tomorrow, I’m sure I’m going to die.” Wisana moaned wearily.
“It’s no use complaining,” Shin said. “Or you have other ways to make us stronger faster than this?”
“I mean, there should be more gentle ways. Dragging monsters to us and making us fight them without teaching anything is just too much.”
Shin could not say anything because it was true. They had been fighting no less than three thousand monsters since they got here. They ranged from level eighty to a hundred twenty plus.
Other than that, Baron had not done anything. She only watched them fight. After each fight, she would walk up to them and kick Wisana in the butt.
‘Who taught you to move like that? How far do you think you can go without any strategy?’
‘Little Shin, I’ll give you one last chance. If you move like that again, you’ll have the same fate as that Vincent.’
‘AGHHH! Why are you so slow? I told you to fight together, not on your own! If you’re still stubborn, I’ll put a bomb in your XXX and feed your XXX to the monsters!’
‘AGHHHHH!!! I’m going crazy! Can’t you finish a bat warrior in one hit? Want to keep it for your ancestors to see or what?!’
When they think about her high-pitched voice, Shin sighed, feeling even more weary. He knew that she also taught them (although not a lot) while scolding, and he heard that this kind of training made it easier to absorb everything instinctively, but he was not sure if this ‘SOTUS’ system would be able to get them to level fifty.
The more he thought about it, the louder his sigh was.
“Ahhhh! I want some chocolate!”
Wisana still moaned.
Thud
Suddenly, a strange object dropped onto his chest. The amber eyes looked at it. It was a ‘Kitdoc’ chocolate bar, his favorite chocolate brand. He sprang up and raised it up high.
“Kitdoc!” He smiled like a happy kid. Shin glanced at him.
“Moaning like a spoiled kid. I only have those, eat up.”
“Ahhhh! The witch!”
His happiness lasted for only three seconds, and he had to jump away in another direction when he saw the owner of the chocolate. Shin quickly pushed himself up, too.
“Are you crazy?!” Baron scolded. “I’m not a ghost. You don’t have to be that scared.”
“B-But you’re close to being one.” The younger man muttered softly. Of course, Baron heard it.
“What?”
“N-Nothing. I didn’t say anything.”
“Then, why did you have to be that frightened?”
Wisana glanced at Shin and smiled nervously.
“You’re calling us back to the training, right?” Shin said.
Baron shook her head and sighed.
“Are you mad?!” She yelled at them. “You’re not a machine. When it’s time to rest, you rest or your body will fail. I’m just here to talk.”
Both boys looked at each other. Wisana slowly walked back and sat down next to Shin.
“That means we still get to rest?” Wisana asked cautiously.
“Yeah. Get all the rest you need. We’ll start again at six tomorrow.”
They sighed in relief.
“Then, I can eat this chocolate?”
Wisana asked again. Baron rolled her eyes in frustration.
“If not, just throw it away.”
“Okay, okay! Thanks, sis.”
He did not hesitate to tear the package open and bite into the chocolate. The gentle sweetness was so satisfying that he rolled around on the floor. The boy beside him shook his head wearily. Baron secretly smiled and turned the other way.
Such a spoiled brat!
Having to eat ‘Kitdoc’ every after an exercise, where have you gotten that from?!
“And what are you going to talk about?”
Shin sat up straight and asked. He knew that lying there would not be polite when talking to adults.
“Of course, about your training result today.”
She put her hands up as if to ask for something from the boys. They looked at each other and turned to the older woman, puzzled.
“Let me see your information screen.”
They both let out an “Ahhh” before calling up their own screen and giving it to Baron. The woman took them with both hands and scrutinized them.

She compared them for quite some time. Then, she frowned and glanced at Wisana with an expression that anyone could tell she was clearly irritated with something. Wisana felt like the chocolate in his mouth was stickier than ever.
“W-What is it?” He asked.
“You only gained nine levels, Vincent.” She looked at Shin’s screen again. “Meanwhile, Shin gained fourteen, even though his level is about forty more than you. What does this mean?”
