Chapter 560: A Different Path Part I

Chapter 560: A Different Path Part I

“Now, there’s nothing to worry about anymore. Rest for another day or two and you’ll be fine.”

A sweet voice sounded happy. She slapped the wounded man on the leg. The patient screamed in pain!

“Ouch, ouch, Ms. Stella! Even though it’s not as bad as in real life, it still hurts.”

“If you can still scream this loudly, you’re fine.”

Stella smiled at the man who was standing behind her with a calm face. He nodded before glancing at the wounded boy whose legs were both patched up and raised above the bed. His head was covered in bandages and only one of his eyes could be seen. Both of his arms were also patched up and forced to stay at his sides.

“Don’t do it again, you hear me?”

A small voice reprimanded him. The boy could only laugh awkwardly.

“I understand it now, Ms. Angie. I won’t do it again. I promise.”

He slowly raised his hand up and patted her head. The sight made the rest of them in the room smile.

“You know how worried Angie was? If Na didn’t stop her, she would have gone out and fought.”

Waree said while putting the first aid essentials back in her item box.

Kong’s wounds were not ordinary. He needed two of the best magicians to help him.

Hearing that, Kongkiat laughed awkwardly and turned to Waree.

“Na doesn’t visit me at all. I’m sure he’s mad, right?”

Waree smiled mildly at the boy. She looked at Stella who seemed to be thinking the same thing.

“A complete opposite, actually,” Waree said.

“Eh?”

“He’s actually very happy that you dared to encounter Marcus. He didn’t want to help you because he wanted you to be proud of yourself. He’s just too arrogant to praise you directly.”

The doctors laughed. They thought that both Wisana and Kongkiat had cute sides that always got them every time.

“And the leader has a business to attend to today,” Stella said.

“Business? What is it?” Kongkiat asked.

“The sky’s clear now. It’s time for Alexander to move out.” Waree said. “Na and May are seeing our important guest off.”

Kongkiat’s lips parted as if he wanted to say something. Then, he only nodded.

“Then, would you be okay if we sent you off here?”

The owner of a gentle voice asked with a smile.

“This is more than enough. You’ve already given me food and a robe to cover myself.”

The other answered. He was standing at the entrance of the forest close to where the Nemesis were hiding. It was time to say goodbye. Even though they had only spent little time together, Wisana felt like he had taken a liking to Sven (besides the fact that he was pretty annoying).

Wisana and Maysa were in front of the ship, which was floating about less than a meter off the ground. Tunwa was at the door with a calm face.

“So, now we’re back to being enemies?” Wisana asked.

“It depends,” Sven said. “We don’t know what the future holds. Maybe one day you and I may have to fight each other to death.”

Wisana smiled. Then, he sighed softly and raised his rough hand out. Sven looked at the hand and smiled back.

“Then, it’s okay for us to shake hands now?” Wisana asked.

“I guess so.”

They shook hands. Maysa could not help but smile at them.

“Any interesting information, let’s analyze it together again, leader Sven.”

Sven looked at Maysa and nodded.

“If it’s interesting, that is,” Sven said.

Wisana grabbed a remote controller and pressed a button to send a signal to a ball that was floating above Sven’s head. It beeped and rushed back to Wisana.

“And here I thought you wouldn’t unlock that.” Sven joked.

Wisana smiled at him. He took out a disk and held it out to Sven.

“And this is the location of your troop.”

“Mhmm.” Sven took the disk.

“They seem very concerned about you, rushing here at full speed. Don’t forget to reward them well.”

Sven laughed. “If the reward is my scolding, I’ll be happy to do that.”

Wisana laughed before he nodded as a sign that it was time to part.

However, Sven did not seem to be in a hurry. He looked back to the ship with his calm face. Wisana could feel that he was yearning for something.

He let out a long sigh.

“I’m sorry. I tried to call Nuch out, but she didn’t want to leave her room.”

Sven turned to look Wisana in the eye.

He smiled and sighed.

“I understand. Please give her my regards.” Sven nodded. “If it wasn’t for her, I wouldn’t have been here. And please tell her for me that I had fun.”

Wisana nodded.

“Deal. I’ll do that.”

“Thanks.” Sven nodded. “Then, I’ll leave. See you later, chief.”

“Yeah, yeah, you better lessen that annoying attitude of yours next time.”

Sven chuckled. “I’ll try.”

Sven said with a calm face. Wisana knew that he actually felt pretty bad for not being able to say goodbye to Nuchjaree. He seemed down. The tall man turned around to the forest.

But before he could step forward...

“Stop right there, Sven!!”

The yelling was so loud that everyone halted and turned to the source.

A girl was standing at the door, panting. Wisana and Maysa glanced at each other and smiled. Sven raised his eyebrows a little. He stopped walking. Yet, his heart was pounding so fast that he could barely stop himself from smiling.

Tunwa looked at Nuchjaree, who was next to him. His jade eyes widened with surprise. Then, he slowly closed his eyes back down and sighed.

This was the time...

“Tun,” Nuchjaree called his name. He could not even turn to look at her.

“What is it?” Tunwa asked.

“I... I’m sorry... I....”

Tunwa gave her a slight smile. He walked towards her and gave her the gentlest head pat that he had ever done. He heard her trying to stabilize her breathing as if she was trying to stop her tears from falling.

“I understand. Don’t worry. Go, he’s waiting.”

“I’m sorry.”

Nuchjaree said and ran off before she could not hold her tears back anymore. Tunwa only smiled.

The girl ran past Wisana and Maysa and stopped in front of Sven.

“Hi.” Sven greeted her. “You finally come to see me, Ms. Nuchjaree.”

“...” She gritted her teeth. “You... How dare you.”

“Huh?” He was confused.

“How dare you leave me without saying goodbye? You selfish man!”

She yanked his shirt collar so hard that Sven lost his footing. However, the girl’s attitude made him laugh.

“How dare you do this to me? You came into my life, screwing with my feelings. And now you’re just going to leave me just like that? Moron!”

Sven grabbed her wrist to calm her down.

“I’m not just leaving you. Aren’t you the one who chooses not to follow me?”

His words were effective. The girl pouted.

“I don’t care!” She shouted. “I don’t trust you!”

Sven could only blink.

“And what have I done to lose your trust this time?” He laughed.

“You’re a perv. I don’t know if you’d do anything like this to any other girl. And you love risking your life even more than Na. S-so...” She gathered her courage and lowered her face down. “I-I’ll go with you!”

Nuchjaree shouted at the top of her lungs. Her face was so red that she had to hide her face on Sven’s chest. Sven was speechless, while Wisana and Maysa smiled at them.

Silence overtook the place. Sven only looked at the girl who was trembling like she was the most delicate woman in the world.

Then, he decided to stroke her hair gently and whispered in her ear.

“I thought you’d never come.”

The girl glanced up at him and turned the other way almost at the same time. Maybe it was because she did not want the man to see her tomato face right now.

“You moron...” She muttered softly.

Wisana sighed and glanced back at Tunwa who was still standing there at the door. Once their eyes met, Tunwa nodded at him. It was a sign that Wisana seemed to understand it immediately.

“Nuch.”
