Chapter 547: Surrounded Part III

Chapter 547: Surrounded Part III

“Who sent this photo?”

Bhira, the head of the field unit asked in a low voice.

“We don’t know. There’s no name.” The subordinate said.

“Heh!” Jade scoffed sarcastically. “I told you we can’t leave them this long. We should have invaded them first.”

“Calm down, Jade,” Bhira spoke.

He looked scrutinizingly at the photo in a calm manner.

“If this image is real, we can’t leave it like this anymore,” Bhira said before looking around at the leading players in the room. “We’ll arrange an urgent meeting. Be prepared for war in twenty-four hours.”

“Roger!”

Everyone accepted his order immediately. Jade smiled so maliciously while stroking the scar on his face. He was so ecstatic to be able to fight the target at last.

He looked at the picture again.

It was a picture of two men using a strange-looking device to lock and pull Sven up about a meter in the air. There was a girl pointing a spear at him at all times. And there was this woman whom he was so much familiar with. That Nuchjaree girl.

He did not know how this lady lured his leader into her trap.

But this photo showed where his leader, who had vanished without a trace, actually was.

Whoever sent this, he was forever grateful.

“Just you wait for me, Nemesis. I’ll drag your insides out in front of you right now, especially you, Shindanai. The scar that you gave me will be returned to you in full.”

Meanwhile, in the enormous mansion in Ziggard, everything had been arranged so neatly in the biggest office room. The table there had been mended so many times, but it was still there in the corner as if nothing had ever happened. There were huge portraits of a woman in different manners hanging on the wall. She was whom everyone called a ‘mascot’ of Pride, GM Anne.

“Leader, I brought you your meal.”

A cheerful voice sounded at the same time the door of the office opened. The figure of a tall man walked into the room with a tray full of food that gave off such a delicious smell.

“Today’s menus are spicy dragon soup and hot&spicy curry soup with golden mushrooms as you like it.”

Then, the thin tall man, Wittaya, halted when he realized that there was no reply. He immediately looked up and around the room to see it empty.

“Leader?”

Wittaya raised his eyebrows. He quickly turned to look at the window.

“Leader!!”

Once he saw the opening window, he rushed to it and poked his head out. He looked at the ground and saw a huge crack in it as if something very heavy had dropped there a while ago. He was ultimately in shock.

“Leader, did you run away from me againnn!!?” Wittaya screamed at the top of his lungs.

He pulled his head back in. He halted again when he saw a message that was carved with something sharp on concrete blocks in the room.

***********************************

Somebody sent us a clue about Vincent. I’ll have his head.

Don’t you friggin follow me or I’ll kill you, too.

Marcus

“This is bad... Leader!!!”

Wittaya screamed so loudly the world shook before tossing the tray with food to the side and running out of the room in panic. His voice was so loud that the birds in the area were startled and flew out of their nests.

Back at the Alexander ship that was still at the same hiding place. This was already the sixteenth day that the Nemesis had to remain still where there was no civilization. The more they waited, the harsher the storms were. It was obvious that the rainy season was on the way.

“If it keeps raining so hard, maybe the lucky ones might be us,”

The sweet voice sounded inside one of the spacious rooms in the ship. Her light grey eyes looked out of the small window next to her, watching the rain falling from the dark sky and leaving droplets on the glass.

“Why?” Another one asked almost nonchalantly.

“If this went on, the other armies wouldn’t be able to make a move. The ocean is out of the question.”

Listening to that, Waree smiled sweetly.

“Even God’s on our side, I see.”

Maysa beamed back. “Probably.”

“It’s not like that, Kong, You have to move faster and do it in one go!”

Before the two girls continued, they heard a shout so loud that they had to turn to the source. Wisana was there. He was in a singlet and sweatpants, standing bare-footed on a small battle ring in the middle of the room. In front of him was Kongkiat, a thin little boy in his sweatshirt and shorts. He also had the guards attached to his knees and elbows.

“How many times do I have to tell you? The Flash Footing technique requires a quick decision. You choose where you want to go and throw yourself at it in a blink.”

“It’s hard, Na.”

The boy’s face was wry. He looked so battered.

“You’ve been with the teacher alone for months and you’re telling me you can’t even master the “Heaven Slashing”? That’s the basics!”

Basic my ass!

“Heaven Slashing”, or “Flash Footing” as they called it in the older days, was actually a technique specialized for assassins. But you were the one who modified the technique of the magic warrior and made it your original move. The “Heaven Slashing” name was your idea, no?!

“Okay, let’s try again, quick.”

“...Y-yes.”

Kongkiat seemed depressed as he said that.

At first, he was extremely delighted when Wisana asked him to practice together. Since Sander was somewhere no one knew, Wisana volunteered to pass on his knowledge to the boy himself. The expectation went wrong when the boy realized that Wisana learned every technique with his body and collected experiences by his instinct, which was the complete opposite. For Kongkiat, if he did not get to study the theory or exercises, he would not be able to understand it. This man was even harsher than that Uncle Sander!

“First, gather your wind and light magic at your toes,” Wisana shouted.

“Y-yes!”

Kongkiat started to enchant, but...

“No, no, no, no!” Wisana still shouted. “I told you to gather both the wind and the light magic, half and half, in one foot, not one on each foot. That is not merging magic; it is just magic summoning!”

“Y-yesss!!”

The younger man yelled back.

What the girls were watching now prompted them to look at each other and try not to laugh. Teacher Wisana seemed to be stricter than they thought.

Both Waree and Maysa were resting in the practice room. It was a funny sight to see Wisana dragging someone out for practice, especially since he was so clueless about the game only months ago.

“I bet that Kong boy will be stooped before he gets stronger,” Maysa said.

“You’re right.” Weree smiled at her. “And look at that, that worried look on that girl’s face.”

She pointed at the magical girl Angela, who was watching the practice from the edge of the ring. She looked so concerned about the bruises on Kongkiat’s body.

“Oh wow... really worried.” Maysa covered her mouth.

“I’ve never seen Angie like that before.” Waree smiled mischievously.

“I guess your best friend’s learned how to love.”

Both of them laughed softly. Wisana secretly glanced at them and sighed. At the same time, the door to the room was opened again. This time it was Shindanai in a singlet covered with a black sweatshirt, looking strangely stern. He had his Longinus spear with him.

Once he saw Waree and Maysa on the other side, he seemed to ease up a little and quickly looked the other way without saying anything. Waree was also quiet with her face flushed red. She pretended that she did not see him. Of course, she could not escape Maysa’s sharp eyes.

“Did I miss something? It seems like you and Shin are acting weird towards each other these days.”
