Chapter 548: Surrounded Part IV

Chapter 548: Surrounded Part IV

“Did I miss something? It seems like you and Shin are acting weird towards each other these days.”

“..W-what weird? It’s nothing.”

Waree quickly denied it. That even made Maysa’s smile bigger.

“What you’re doing sure is weird.”

“...” Waree did not know how to respond.

“It looks like you’ve progressed. Hmm... That day that you talked to me about Shin, were you planning to do something? Something like... closing the gap between you guys...?”

“...I-it’s really nothing. You’re babbling, May.”

Waree still denied it. Maysa did not push her further, even though she totally knew that there was something about Waree and Shin’s relationship. They did not talk like usual, but their eyes suspiciously glowed when they met.

“Hey! Why the heck are you with your Longinus? I told you this room can’t withstand your madness.”

Wisana shouted when he saw Shin.

“I know,” Shin replied. “Just want to get used to carrying it.”

“You talk like it’s not your weapon,” Wisana said.

“Not really.” Shin shook his head slowly. “The last fight was a lot for me to handle after I used that much power. So, I think getting used to it and its toxicity would be a good practice.”

“By carrying it around like a madman? Are you Krai Thong searching for Chalawan?”

Wisana teased him with a mischievous smile. Shin let out a soft scoff.

BAM!!

A loud noise sounded in the room. Everyone turned to the source in panic. It was Kongkiat. It seemed like it was another time that he clumsily used the “Heaven Slashing” technique that he slammed so hard into the water cooler.

“Kong!” Angela rushed to him.

Wisana slapped his forehead wearily.

“Kong, how many times has it been? When will you master it?”

“Flash Footing?” Shin asked.

“Nope, Heaven Slashing,” Wisana said. “It’s the move that I modified from the Flash Footing of those assassins.”

“Hmm..”

Shin looked at Kongkiat, who was still on the ground laughing awkwardly while Angela was worriedly trying to tend to his wound.

“I’ve been teaching him for two days and he’s still at that.” Wisana sighed. “I don’t know if it’s me who can’t teach, or it’s him who can’t seem to make sense of anything.”

Hearing that, Shin scoffed softly.

“Are you trying to look for yourself in that boy too hard, Vincent?” Shin asked. “He’s not as skilled in fighting as you. He seems to be a brain type, not an instinct type. You guys are the total opposite. We won’t learn if you do it your way.”

“I know that.” Wisana sighed. “But sometimes you need to put your instinct to good use. In battles, sometimes the result comes out in a flash. If you think too much, your head can be cut off without you even realizing it.”

Shindanai pouted. Somehow Wisana’s words sounded crazy, but there were some truths in them.

Once in a while, he also had this in him.

“I’m still thinking about what I should do with him,” Wisana said. “It’s not like he doesn’t have a knack for it. He also has a very strong mind. Yet, sometimes his movement seems off. What he lacks is more like a life-or-death battle experience.”

“Unlike you who fought monsters from the very first day you got here.”

Wisana pouted at him before wiping off his sweat with a towel.

“What about you? Why don’t you train for yourself?” Shindanai asked.

Wisana let out a long sigh.

“You know I absorb my ability from real fighting experiences. It’s useless otherwise.” He shrugged.

“I notice that your level has been frozen,” Shin said.

“I’m stuck here. I don’t get to fight any monster or player. I’m getting rusty. So bored!”

Shindanai chuckled.

“Do you want to try me?”

Wisana halted. Not only him but Waree and Maysa, who were eavesdropping, also did the same. Wisana narrowed his eyes and stared at the other man before beaming at him. He slapped his shoulders.

“Let’s do it when I feel like destroying this ship.” He scoffed. “To be honest, here’s too narrow for me. I need more space if I want to fight you... right?”

“I guess so.” Shin shrugged.

The two girls let out a long sigh of relief. If they were to fight each other, this ship would not survive.

These two monsters were surely looking for a fight.

Wisana was irritated that he had to be stuck here, doing nothing.

If he did not have a chance to fight soon, he would definitely die.

“Kong! Master the Heaven Slashing technique today. If not, don’t you dare think I’ll teach you something new. Understand?!”

Wisana shouted all the way to the other side while walking out of the room.

“Y-yessss!!” The student could only accept his fate.

Wisana nodded and put his towel around his neck. Seeing that, Maysa got up and looked at Waree.

“I’ll be going, then. Try not to look him in the eye, or you’ll trigger the lovey-dovey event.”

“May!”

Waree yelled at her, but she was too late since Maysa had already left with Wisana. Before she realized it, she turned back and accidentally looked Shindanai in the eye. They turned away from each other at the same time.

----------------

“Eh? Where’s Nam?”

Wisana asked as soon as Maysa caught up to him in the hallway. Maysa smiled so suspiciously that the boy was confused.

“What are you smiling about?” He asked.

“Well... once in a while, it’s good to see her like that. So adorable.”

The brother halted. The brain just realized that Shin and Waree were in that room together. This was totally a good chance for them. And it looks like Nam had already forgiven Shin, too.

“....” Wisana could only swallow his saliva. “I think I should teach Kong something more.”

Maysa chuckled when she saw him like that and quickly grabbed his arm. She dragged him back, even though the guy did not want to.

“Oh come on, just once in a while.” Maysa was still laughing. “And stop venting everything on Kong. I don’t want that boy to stoop before he gets stronger.”

“I...”

“Just bear with it.”

Maysa gave him a sweet smile. She put her arm around Wisana’s and continued to drag him along. Wisana did not want to leave his sister with Shin at all, but he would do it just for Maysa this time!

He clenched his fist like a possessive brother. It was something that always made Maysa laugh.

Beep Beep Beep!

Suddenly, notification sounds went off from Maysa’s communication channel. She let go of Wisana before calling up the communication window.

“What is it?” She asked with a smile.

Aerin’s face appeared on the screen. She seemed to be in a panic.

“This is bad, captain. Please come to the bridge immediately. The Cataral is on the move.”

Wisana and Maysa looked at each other and frowned. Maysa let out a long sigh.

The enemy was finally at it.

----------------

“This is the photo that our intelligence sent to us. It was taken in Dores.”

The sweet voice sounded so worried. It was the photo of a huge army that left their quarter in the north. It looked like there were no fewer than two thousand people this time.

“More importantly, they’re reaching here,” Aerin said.
