Chapter 544: Pride Library Part VI
Chapter 544: Pride Library Part VI
“Then, let’s start with the Guild Members.”
Wisana said and Jinnie accepted it. Then, the image on the screen changed again.
There were so many people in the image. There were boys, girls, and even monsters like dragons or a half-dog, half-human guy that reminded him of Leonard for some reason. And the one in the forefront, even though he had only seen her face in the photo once or twice, he recognized her very well.
“This is surely Viola.” Wisana smiled at the image. “Jinnie, is this the image of all the former members of the Dominion guild?”
Wisana asked. Jinnie went quiet for a short moment while digging up the information.
“That’s correct. This is the image of the very first group of players who helped establish the Dominion guild. They were the ones whom Viola trusted the most.”
Hearing that, Wisana nodded. He looked pleased.
Then, his amber eyes turned back to look at the photo again, scrutinizingly this time. He stared at each of them one by one. Eventually, he realized that some of them were familiar.
“Jinnie, open up the photos I saved.” Wisana gave her an order.
“Yes.”
Not so long after that, the photo of the mysterious players appeared on his phone. He looked at the photo on his phone and the tablet back and forth, trying to compare them.
“This is him. The red hair and eyes. What the heck does this mean?”
What surprised him was not the fact that this red-haired guy was a member of the guild, it was his face. He did not change a bit. If he recalled correctly, this photo was taken over twenty years ago. So, why did this man still look as young as he was now?
Did he modify his ID?
That might be it. This should be him modifying his character.
“Huh, I see you want to stay young forever. The real him must be a wrinkly grandpa.”
He softly poked at the man’s face in the photo.
“Would you like to know the information of Lucius?”
The girl in the e-reader asked.
“Lucius?” Wisana tilted his head. “Sure, I want it.”
“Please wait a moment.” This time it was Jinnie. “Name in Pride, Lucius. Real name, none. He was the second in command of the Dominion guild and one of the most skilled people in the guild at both fighting and planning. This man with flaming hair and eyes was Viola’s most trusted right-hand man. Rumor has it that if Lucius chose to walk out of Viola’s shade, he could have easily become one of the four gods. Yet, his friendship with Viola was so strong that nothing could make him leave the guild for himself.
Lucius was one of the first people who helped establish the guild. Even though he was not as well-known as Viola was, this man had created a legend in the most brutal fight between him and Winter, the leader of the Bunny Burner guild. He disappeared from Pride after he lost the fight, but he had done so much for the Dominion guild that...”
The story had not finished yet when Wisana pressed the stop button.
He was deep in thought when he brought the screen back to the group photo page.
“Viola’s sidekick?” Wisana frowned tightly. “He was one of the creators. Why would he want to destroy it now?”
A big invisible question mark appeared on Wisana’s face. He scrutinized the group photo again. As expected, he found another two people whom he was familiar with.
“Name in Pride, Scarlet. Real name, none. She was a great sorcerer of the Dominion guild who was skilled with every kind of magic. Rumor has it that she was a genius who was an expert in both fighting and defense. If ‘Bera the Witch’ of the Cataral guild did not exist, she could have become the greatest sorcerer of that time....”
“Name in Pride, Aaron. Real name, none. He was a godly skilled warrior who used a trident as a weapon. Aaron was considered the best warrior at the time, especially when he paired up with Sander The Mad Dog. They are known as The Destructive Duo until this day....”
“Sander The Mad Dog?”
Wisana raised his eyebrows up high when he heard that. The familiar name surprised him the most.
“Jinnie, search for Sander The Mad Dog.” He gave an order right away.
“Please wait a moment.” Jinnie agreed. “Name in Pride, Sander. Real name, none. He was one of the most extreme players in history. The name ‘Mad Dog’ was a guarantee that no one dared to get close to him. The most incredible thing about this hot-tempered man was that he created his own profession by unlocking as many as 220 skills. It was the profession that only Sander could use since he never passed it on to anyone...”
Hearing that, Wisana touched his lips, thinking.
He started to put the jigsaw pieces together. These players surely used to be his teacher’s allies. The proof was when he seemed so used to fighting in the battle between Poseidon and Gaia. One of the enemies was the man named Aaron, the man who was once his partner.
Their target must be him...
No, the teacher told me that it was Jinnie.
Then, he glanced at his phone screen.
“Jinnie.” He called.
“Yes?”
“Do you know these people?”
“...No?”
Hearing that, Wisana frowned tightly and sighed. As he thought, Jinnie lied to him. If she spoke the truth, she would not have to stop and think before answering. Even if he pushed her, she would not spill a thing. His teacher, too, would be like that. Sander knew everything so well, but he never thought about telling anyone. What was worse was that he had now disappeared without a trace.
Did he leave here to go back to his former crew?
Or he had always been with these people from the start and only infiltrated Nemesis to spy on us?
No, Sander would not have helped us if it was like that. He even warned him about Jinnie.
Or was that just an act?
Not that either. The man might be tricky, but he was not a liar.
The more he thought about it, the harder he scratched his head. Even though he was able to piece the jigsaw together, everything seemed so confusing. The only thing that he knew was that these people were so good.
They were all legendary...
This information that he got might be useful, even with only rough details about themselves. Sven should find it crucial to his battle strategy.
“Jinnie, I want to download the information from this book. Can you help me?”
Wisana gave an order. Jinnie went quiet for a short while before accepting the order with her sweet voice.
“I will do just that. Please wait a moment.” Then, the screen changed to the payment page. “Please put your credit card information, master.”
The man filled in the information and the screen showed a big ‘Pass’.
The total cost was... 1,850 THB.
WTF!!!
It was so expensive that he choked on his own saliva.
“One thousand eight hundred? Frickin’ rip-off! Why so much?!”
He screamed so loudly. Once again, everyone in the area turned to him for the third time, but he could not calm himself down anymore.
“It has always been like this, master, since it was a best-selling book worldwide. It’s considered rare information that people can only find in the Pride Library. It’s also prohibited to distribute commercially.”
“So cruel. No wonder why Pride’s so rich.”
“Would you like to download it, master? If you download it now, you’ll get two spa gift vouchers at two spa places in Koh Samui for three days and two nights and.....”
“Okay, okay.” Wisana waved his hand nonchalantly. “Just do it. I’ll leave the rest to you.”
“Understood.”
Wisana massaged his temples, feeling so pathetic.
The Pride world was in turmoil...
But his wallet was even worse.
He kind of wanted to cry.
Last month was an iPhone, now it was this crazy information?!
You’re so totally broke, Na!
