Chapter 537: A Night to Rest Part III
Chapter 537: A Night to Rest Part III
“So, what did you apologize for?” Waree asked.
Shin shrugged and pouted a little.
“I’m sorry that I haven’t contacted you for some time.”
Waree went quiet. She stared at him with a smile as if she was waiting for further explanation.
“It’s not like I didn’t want to. But you have to understand that Fahsai had been with me all the time since the school holiday started. She followed me around inside and outside the game. She even stole my cell phone. I couldn’t communicate with anyone in the game because she messed it up. And I...”
“It’s okay.”
Waree cut him off with a smile. It seemed like Shindanai was getting frantic.
“It’s fine. I don’t think much about it anymore.”
Shin blinked. He did not plan to receive her forgiveness this quickly.
“You’re not mad anymore?” He asked.
Waree shook her head and smiled at him. It was the familiar gentle smile.
“Ahh... What about you? Why did you apologize?”
Shin asked back. It might seem like he did not expect anything from her answer, but he actually did. The girl smiled at him gently and leaned towards the rail. She looked up at the sky and beamed.
“Mmm~ I forgot.”
“Huh?”
Shin raised his eyebrow. Waree laughed.
“Just know that I’m sorry. I’m sorry about what I’ve already forgotten.”
The more he listened to her, the more confused he got. He wondered what she was implying.
He only knew for sure that girls were so hard to predict!
He glanced at her. She smiled at him. Then, he laughed softly.
This was so much like her, the Waree who was always so cheerful.
The next moment, Waree put up her pinkie in front of him. He raised his eyebrows a little and looked into her eyes. Seeing her bright smile, Shin could only shake his head. He did not understand her at all.
“Pinkie reconciliation.” She said.
“Huh?”
Shin could only be so confused. Yet, he still laughed and put his pinkie to hers.
“We’re good?”
“Mmm.”
Waree smiled like a little kid. Their pinkies intertwined like a symbol of the new start. They looked each other in the eye for a while. Shin finally felt relief. He was so happy that their relationship was back to normal.
He was about to take his hand back when Waree locked his pinkie tighter and it eventually turned into holding hands. The boy looked at her, dazed. Waree did not say a thing.
It was just like a dream.
He felt something touching his cheek gently.
The next thing that he realized was when he felt a warm breath that touched his face and the soft and sweet sensation on his lips. It was just like a marshmallow, yet it was different. He had never felt anything like it before.
The warmth blew past him so fast.
Waree’s face flushed red. She did not dare to look him in the eye. Unlike Shin, he could not even close his eyes.
“May told me that you’d never initiate it.” Waree’s voice was shaking. She touched her lips. “And I don’t like waiting. I hope... you don’t mind it.”
“Mmm... I...”
He was speechless. His eyes were locked on her.
A second later, Waree ran off so fast like a storm. ...Yes, it destroyed everything it touched and left. Shin could only look at it without saying anything. He, then, touched his lips.
“Was that... a kiss?”
He murmured.
When his brain started to function again, his calm face flushed so much like never before. He dropped to the ground...
It was so good that he was a girl right now.
If he was a boy, he would look so pathetic...
But whatever it was. His brain was so empty right now!

Brrr~~ What was this feeling?
The heater was still working, keeping the temperature at 25 degrees Celsius. But why did he suddenly feel the goosebumps? Wisana rubbed his arms. It felt like something that could make him mad was happening behind his back. He eventually let it go and lay back down.
The room was pitch black. There was only the moonlight that shone through the window in the corner of the room. It was so quiet that he could hear even the sound of a pin drop. He looked at the space beside him and smiled. The silhouette of a small figure was there, facing her back to him. She was so stiff.
Wisana chuckled softly.
It was true that he invited Maysa to his room, but he did not have any ill intention towards her at all. But look at her, she was so still like a rock. He bet his head that she was still awake.
That was right. The light grey eyes were wide open like never before. Her small hands grabbed the blanket so tightly. Her lips clenched tightly that it was apparent that she was...
So stressful.
Maysa felt so uncomfortable being under the same blanket as a man, even though he was her own boyfriend. It felt so strange. She did not even want to move an inch!
If she knew that it would be this stressful, she would be more than happy to sleep on the sofa in the living room!!
The more she thought about it, the more she wanted to scream. But that would totally make her look like a psycho to Wisana.
Talk about this man...
Why! He seemed so calm with a woman in his bed.
Maysa clicked her tongue in disapproval. She even tried to discreetly glance at the man. She slowly turned, hoping the man would not notice.
“What are you peaking at, beautiful?”
“Wahhh!”
She was wrong. Wisana had been sitting there and looking at everything she did. He looked so well entertained. Startled by what he said, Maysa quickly turned back.
“What are you playing, little lady? Why don’t you go to sleep? You’ve been through a lot today.”
Wisana smiled. He still looked at Maysa’s back.
“How do you expect me to sleep?” Maysa complained softly. Yet, it could not escape Wisana’s hearing.
He beamed and patted her head softly. Maysa gave a start.
“Are you excited?” He asked.
“....”
Maysa did not answer. Seeing that, he beamed even bigger.
“You don’t have to be. We’re always hugging each other anyway. Sometimes we...”
“Hey!!”
Maysa’s face flushed red. She sprang up and raised her voice at him. She finally looked him in the eye. Wisana smiled and leaned towards her. His gentle lips touched her forehead.
It was strange that when that happened...
She suddenly felt at ease.
Maysa blinked, staring at the happy man in front of her. She let out a scoff and looked away.
“You seem so calm. Look at me, I’m so pathetically excited.” She muttered.
“Me?” Wisana raised his eyebrows. “Who says I’m not excited?”
He grabbed her hand and put it on his chest where his heart was. Maysa could feel it now that his heart was pounding so fast. She raised her face to look at him. His eyes shone brightly with a little anxiety.
“It’s true that I sleep in the same room with my sister all the time, but this is the first time with another girl. And because it was you, May, I’m so excited I can’t sleep a wink.”
He smiled awkwardly. It was the kind of smile that Maysa found it so warm to look at. Only a few words from him made her feel more comfortable. It was his magic. Wisana could always make people around him feel safe.
Because of this, she could not live without him. That was why... she loved him so much.
“I know you’re tired, but we’re still here because of you. Without you, I don’t know what would have happened to me back then. Thank you for always covering my back.”
He put his hands on her cheeks.
“If it wasn’t me, who would have done it, then?” Maysa beamed at him. “Or if you found anyone who’s crazy enough to do that, bring the guy to me.”
“Yeah, yeah, my brave girl.”
He pinched her nose. Maysa chuckled.
“We’ll be even more tired from now. I may have to deal with worse and worse enemies. The problem that we have is probably not only the war or the game itself, so...”
“That’s why I have to cover your back even more.”
