Chapter 535: A Night to Rest Part I
Chapter 535: A Night to Rest Part I
“Gosh... Why do I have to be in this state?”
Constant complaints sounded at the same time that the robe was thrown over the whole body as if the owner wanted to cover every part of it as much as possible. The lavender-purple eyes swept around the narrow path inside Alexander ship, feeling strangely uneasy.
And he did not want anyone to see him like this...
Why did these people always force him to disguise himself as a girl?!
The more he thought about it, the more Shindanai felt pathetic. He started to realize that the Nemesis are all actually biologically crazy. Even Tunwa asked him to use this kind of humiliating plan. He did not even want to imagine what would happen if Rak, his sister, saw him in this state!
If he were to blame someone...
That one had to be Manoch!
That crazy guy surely loved creating weird stuff for friends.
Were you friends with that blue fat cat from the future or what!?
The next moment, Shin walked up to the deck. The metal gate screeched silently and opened. The cool breeze at night gently blew past him. Now, Shindanai felt secure enough to take off his robe, since there was no one there.
The sky was full of stars. The clouds were blown away by the storm. The storm was over, just like the war of the Nemesis that temporarily ceased, and everything finally went back to normal.
Shindanai sighed while walking towards the edge of the deck. He put his hands on the metal fence and looked upwards, thinking.
“Rak... I wonder how she’s doing now.”
He muttered. It was at the same time that the breeze blew past his long black hair that shone against the moonlight. The hair was so messy that he had to clumsily brush it back with his hands.
Shindanai was suddenly concerned about his older sister. It was true that the Bunny Burner guild had been so quiet since the war burst. It seemed like bigger guilds were being targeted, too.
Especially with what he heard from the girl he met in the last fight.
That woman with a dead face who controlled the earth god, Gaia.
‘I repeat, if you find the four gods or those who seem threatening, kill them off immediately.’
Yes. She said that.
He did not know much now. But if it was true, he could not help but be concerned about his sister. Even though she was good and had been keeping demons around her as Vincent did, the enemies now were different.
A lot about them could not be calculated with Pride’s rules.
They were dangerous and he did not know what exactly they wanted.
Damn it. This was giving him a headache. He could not tell anymore how the war would actually end because a lot of things did not go as the rules stated.
“Nice breeze, hmm?”
Shindanai went quiet. His sharp eyes immediately turned to look behind him. He saw a familiar girl in a light-yellow dress and a black Nemesis uniform walking towards him.
The girl sent him her sweet smile. Shindanai only frowned in owe.
“Why are you here? Na wanted you to help interrogate Sven.”
She was still smiling. That confused Shindanai even more.
Waree was so strange tonight. She suddenly walked to him and talked like nothing had happened. That tone was just like before she was mad at him. Was it because he had been forgiven?
“Well?”
She moved closer to him and put her hands on the fence next to his. Their shoulders touched. Shindanai could even smell her sweet fragrance.
So, did this mean she was okay now?
Why were girls so hard to please?!
“I’m not in an appropriate state to see Sven right now.”
Waree laughed.
“There’s no need to be shy. I think you’re cute like this. I’m actually quite envious, you know? Your hair’s so long and beautiful. I want it too.”
“I don’t.”
Shindanai let out a long sigh before looking up at the sky again.
“Is the interrogation over?” Shin asked.
“Not yet,” Waree answered and glanced at the ocean in front of her. “Sven wants to talk privately with Na. I don’t know what his objective is. But I think Na also wants to talk with him. That’s why May and I went out here.”
“I see.” Shindanai nodded.
“And...” Waree squeezed her hands. “I also want to talk with you.”
The boy went quiet for a second. He glanced at the person beside him and saw the sweet, reddened face. His heart fluttered a little.
“Sure,” Shin answered. “Me, too.”

“Is this true, Sven?”
Wisana seemed surprised. Sven only smirked back and nodded his head in confirmation.
“And why do they have to target us? If they really wanted to destroy Pride, wouldn’t it be easier to just go straight to the GMs?” Wisana asked.
“That’s a good question,” Sven replied and smiled. “It’s because we’re the pillar of Pride.”
“The pillar of Pride?”
“Do you know why the Thai server is the best around the world right now?”
Wisana could only shake his head.
“First, the server is the main server that has been implemented with Alice system, which means it transmits the signals to everywhere in Pride.”
“That’s why they want to destroy here, instead of the Americans?”
Wisana tried to think critically. Judging from how big in technology each country was, Thailand seemed far behind even Japan or China.
“Yes.” Sven smiled. “This can actually be another good thing to be proud of in Thailand.”
“And how does it connect to the killing of the four gods?” Wisana tilted his head.
“That’s because the four gods like us are the pillars of Pride. We’re the strongest players in the world.”
Hearing that, Wisana frowned tightly.
“If they wanted to destroy Pride, we would definitely not let that happen so easily. We’re like a symbol of Pride. If the core was demolished, there’s no need to guess what would happen to Pride.”
“But it’s only the Thai server, isn’t it?” Wisana argued.
“Yeah, that may be right. But don’t forget that this is where the Alice system is and it’s the life of Pride. If it were to be destroyed, Pride would be over.”
“That’s why they want you.”
“Correct.” Sven nodded. “Not only us, the four gods, you guys, too. You, Maysa, Shindanai, and your good sidekicks will all be killed by them.”
Wisana was silent. He touched his lips while thinking.
“The four gods like us aren’t only the core, Vincent. We don’t only protect others’ faith, but we also control the future.”
With that, Wisana looked at Sven again.
“What do you mean?”
“The saying’s been passed down from one four gods generation to another.” Sven gave out a big smile.
“Generation?” Wisana raised his eyebrows.
“You do know, right, that we’re not the first who created the Four Gods guild? And therefore, we’re not the first generation.”
“Mhmm.” Wisana nodded.
“The people who initiated the guild are all considered legendary players. I’m sure you’ve heard of it.” He put his fingers out to count. “Viola from Dominion, Winter from Bunny Burner, Bera from Cataral, and Carnival from Pandora.”
Wisana blinked. He listened closely with interest.
“People call them the cruelest demons of all time. Viola The War Goddess, Winter The Warrior, Bera The Sorcerer, and Carnival The Serpent, the names have been so well-known from the start. Four of them were both friends and foes. They took turns building fame and legends until they ended up establishing a guild.”
Sven rested his chin on his hands. He looked at Wisana and flashed him a big smile.
“Does it sound familiar to you, Vincent?”
“What do you mean?”
Hearing that, Sven let out a laugh and continued.
“They were very influential. They were more than an inspiration for teenagers at the time. They were even higher than the god of Pride. The world revolved around them that they even made it to the TIME cover.”
“That much?” Wisana raised his eyebrows up high.
“More than you can imagine. The four gods weren’t only famous and brought more people to Pride.” Sven shook his head. “Don’t you think it’s strange that there’re only 2-3 GMs for a massive game like Pride?”
