Chapter 523 - 7 Day’s Part I
Chapter 523 - 7 Day’s Part I
Hamilton Hotel was the most luxurious hotel in Tristan. It was built with many kinds of best-quality materials. Its exterior was designed fancily with a mix of modern and fantasy styles. With the decorative beautiful glass built on the outside and the height of the 50 floors, it could be said that this hotel looked the most unique in the city.
Moreover, Hamilton Hotel was one of the few buildings in Tristan that still remained in its best condition as most of the city was ruined by the war. While people in the capital had all moved out, this hotel was the only place that was still in service.
To be more accurate,
Its service had been used by the William Star guild only!
Now, there was a man in a coat that covered his body entirely standing and looking at Hamilton Hotel with a calm face. Those ruby-red eyes of his were staring right at the top of the building.
In the VIP room on the top floor.
“Uh-ha! I’m so sorry, Allen. I’m activating the magic card; Heaven Bless to increase 20 attack points on my monster. So, Dragon White now has 50 attack points and hits you directly. I won!”
“...”
The delighted voice sounded in front of the digital screens floating between two men in the VIP suite room of Hamilton Hotel.
“I’ve won 3 times in a row now, you know.” The one with silver-framed glasses said joyfully.
“I hate magic card games. It’s dumb.” Another voice rang in boredom.
“Aw, you said that every time you lost. But that rotten dog in the water strategy of yours sure got some chill running down my spine.”
“It still got beaten by your Chinese girl on a rush ride anyway.”
He said, sighing with an extremely disappointed expression.
The one with blond hair managed to close down the game window, before sitting back on the sofa right away.
“What? You’re going to play another game? We were just having fun.” The man with glasses asked.
“No, only you were having fun, Nero. You beat me up senselessly every time, how would you expect me to enjoy this stupid card game?!”
“Come on, I’ll go easy on you in the next round. How about I play some poor cards against you?”
“No, I’m not playing.”
After snapping at the other, Allen pushed his hair up in frustration. After that, he reached for a white ceramic cup in front of him to take a sip of brown liquid in it. Seeing him being upset like that, the glasses man named Nero could only frown like a spoiled child in response.
Because he knew for sure that when Allen shouted the word ‘No,’ it meant that no one would be able to force him to do it ever.
At this point, the owner of waist-length long brown hair glanced in another direction where a woman was reading a small book in one of her hands while the other one was stirring her tea with a spoon slowly.
“How about you, Miss Scarlet? Would you like to play magic cards with me for a round? Or we can play chess if you’d like.”
Nero asked. The woman took her eyes off the book and turned to smile sweetly at him.
"I’d rather not. After seeing Allen’s face right now, I think I should just continue reading my book quietly.”
“Come on, that’s too boring.”
Nero frowned again, while Scarlet was shaking her head amusedly. Then she closed her book, before getting up and stretching a little. Her eyes glanced over to another man in the room, a man who had been sitting still and not talking to anyone for 2 days. The man was just there, staying like a bear in hibernation.
“It’s been too long now,” Scarlet spoke up. “Why hasn’t Aaron yet contacted us?”
Hearing the question, the two men on the sofa froze a little, before managing to look at the woman.
“The fight’s probably getting prolonged,” Nero said.
“Or those two have failed at their task already.”
After Allen said, the other two looked quite stressed out, especially Scarlet.
“If our boss can tune the signal to Alice sooner, that’d be good.” The woman said, looking at the one who was sitting still by the window. “If there’s no Alice, then we don’t know what’s happened out there. I hope that they will take the Key of Forbidden back successfully. At least that is the sea area, and Aaron should be unstoppable there.”
The two men let out a short sigh.
“I hope so, too,” Nero said.
“But I’m quite worried about those two. It’s true that Aaron is better than anyone when it comes to fighting in the sea, but the other side has many strong players as well, including Valentine’s brother, Vincent, and Sander, our old friend.”
“That’s why I sent Aaron,” Scarlet said. "Only Aaron can be Sander’s best match in battle. I hope nothing goes wrong."
"I hope so too," said Allen. “We’re lucky that Viola didn’t show up. Because right after she gets herself involved in our plan...”
“Right.” Scarlet sighed. “Apart from our leader, there’s no one standing a chance against her at all. That demon is invincible. It’s very annoying.”
Listening to that, everyone looked at each other with an awkward face.
Especially Nero who still remembered Viola’s capability so well because he was the last one fighting her many months ago. To talk about her skills, they were still as savage as before. And maybe, her reflex had gotten even sharper now.
“She was reliable when she was on our side. But when she is against us, that woman is like the worst cancer. Thinking about her face really pisses me off.”
Scarlet cursed out of annoyance. Her tone showed how much she openly despised Viola. Seeing that, Allen and Nero looked each other in the eyes knowingly, and then they shrugged.
“Well, what do we do next, if Aaron and Emilia fail, Miss Scarlet?”
Nero was the one who asked. Scarlet pressed her lips together after the question.
“I don’t know either.” She spoke. “But no matter what happens, Vincent will be here for sure. Miguel’s bait will work for the least.”
“That’s right,” Nero agreed.
“Speaking of that, I never thought that the four gods Sven would be the one who takes that girl to us like this. From what I spoke with Miguel. She said that this man would be the hardest among the four gods to deal with because he was very skilled and insightful. He’s a smart man, full of various strategies and tactics, but that’s all ruined because of one woman.”
“Like I said, Humans can’t live without love.”
Scarlet said with a shrug. Her smile looked more amused than appreciated her philosophic quote.
“Some can turn love into unlimited power, while some might be consumed by it, and turn it into weakness.”
“Sven’s the second kind, right?”
Allen pointed his finger at Scarlet with a playful expression.
Seeing that, she cracked into chuckling.
“Yeah, it’s obvious that he’s softer when he’s with that girl. That’s probably his first love I suppose.”
After hearing what Scarlet said, Allen started laughing aloud in amusement, while Nero only let out a snorting sound.
“Then Vincent is the first kind.” He spoke.
His two friends looked at each other, before rolling their eyes in unison.
“Well, right. For Vincent, not only is his lover not his weakness, but she’s the best guard to watch over his back, a very dangerous one for us.” Scarlet said.
“The girl named Maysa?” Allen asked.
“Yes.” She nodded in response. “From the reports I’ve received, more than 70% of Vincent’s performance is from her brain. To call her the shadow commander won’t be too exaggerated. Not only that she doesn’t slow Vincent down, but she’s the supporter to make her lover get even stronger.”
“So, it’s been confirmed that she’s another wild enemy to us, huh?”
