Chapter 522: Blending In Part IV

Chapter 522: Blending In Part IV

Her forehead felt burning.

But that could not be compared to her pounding heart that she was so scared it would blast out of her chest.

She could look in his eyes only for a second, before turning away. Her mouth was parted like she wanted to say something, but she could not. Sven curled up a little smile when he saw that reaction as he reached up to ruff her hair gently again like he had always been doing. Getting treated like this was quite strange for a dashing one like her, because most of her friends were guys, and they treated her like one as well. But this man was different, he was gentle, soft, and treated her nicely.

“Thank you. These past days with you have been so much fun.” Sven said. “You’re the first girl who can make me laugh this much. If lucky, we’ll meet again. Have a safe trip back, chopping block.”

“...Hey,”

Nuchjaree wanted to snap at him, but she did not even dare to look into his eyes. All she could do was do her best to look away. And Sven did not say anything more. His rough hand touched her cheek softly before the tall man pulled it away silently.

When she turned to look at him again, she only found herself with emptiness...

He was gone, leaving only this stinging pain in her chest.

Now she should be happy for the freedom she had again, right? She needed to hurry back to her friends!

She needed to turn around and reach out for her guild, but she could not move her legs.

‘Please Nuchjaree, do something!!

You should be glad you won’t have to see that irritating man again, won’t you? Everyone is waiting for you!

In times like this, why do you still hesitate?!’

“...You dumbass.”

----------------

“I can’t believe that we’re still told to stop in this city at a time like this.”

The voice came from one of three players who were walking in Tristan City, carefreely strolling on the street near the city’s gate. Every one of them seemed to be carelessly relaxed when the city had become almost like a ghost town right now, and most of the people here were members of the William Star guild. That explained why the number of citizens was too few to match the enormous size of the city.

“So true, we should have been battling with the Cataral by now.”

“Yeah, it was such a great opportunity. They were losing their main damage like that; we should have made sure that they were totally gone.”

“Well, but there were just a few thousands of them. They probably called in their support, and Sven’s already with them now.”

“Ugh, that would be tough then.”

“I don’t think so. Our guild isn’t the same now, you know. Even though they have Sven, I don’t think they can fight against those four chiefs. Their skills are beyond human.”

“Right, maybe we will actually win this war. We’re so lucky to have those four on our side.”

After that, the three players burst into laughter together, especially the last one who was laughing louder than the others.

“But is Leader William okay with this?”

“Why?”

“Well, he’s out of favor now. The new chiefs are just in control of everything. Leader William probably gets taken down soon, you know.”

“That’d be good.”

“Oi, dumbass, why did you say that?”

“To be honest, I don’t quite like William. Sticking around him ruins my moods somehow.”

“You have a point there. Having these four absolutely take over the guild would be good for us. Don’t you think so?”

“Yeah, especially Chief Scarlet, if she’s the one who takes over the guild, I’ll fully support her. How can a person have the face of an angel like that?”

“I 120% agree with that, Dude.”

Then the two turned to each other to laugh together.

“What do you think, Din?”

“Din? Oi, hey. Where the hell did he go now? He was just walking with us.”

The two started yelling with confusion on their faces when the three of them were walking together and one of them suddenly disappeared like he was gone with the wind.

They would not have thought that their friend was dragged to a dark alley around there, with a gun pointed scarily at his head. His eyes widened in shock, not because of the gun, but because the man who was holding it to his head was one of the four gods...

Sven!!

“Make a sound, and I will absolutely blow your head off.”

Sven said with an emotionless face, but the look in his eyes was hardened to show that he was serious about shooting someone’s head off if they were being tricky!

“Right now, your only task here is to answer my questions. And whether your brain will get a hole in it or not, that depends on your answers. Got that?”

Hearing that, the one who had the gun pointed to his head nodded rapidly.

“First question, who are the four chiefs you were talking about?”

“A ...about that, I don’t...”

POOF!

A bullet whizzed out of the barrel and scratched the cheek of this player, drawing a drop of his blood out. His face turned pale, while he was being shocked after Sven actually pulled the trigger. Plus, his gun had a silencer, too!

“I told you, didn’t I? Will there be a hole in your brain or not, that depends on your answer.”

“I... I really don’t know anything else except for their names.”

“Yeah?” Sven raised his brows. “Say it.”

“Three of them are men. Their names are Allen, Nero, and Lucius. And a woman is named Scarlet.”

After hearing the names from the shaking voice, Sven could only click his tongue in response. He did not recognize any of these names at all, damn it. If these people were so good that they could defeat his entire army like that, they had to be ones of the top-tier players, so where the hell had such players been all this time?!

“What are their classes and levels?”

Sven said, pressing the gun harder on his head.

“W ...WUH.”

“Stop whining. Answer the questions!” He yelled.

“T ...the one named Allen is a swordsman, Nero is a mage, and the woman named Scarlet is one of those summoners. But I don’t know about that one named Lucius. I’ve never seen a play class like that before.”

“And their levels?” Sven continued.

“I ...I’m not sure about that either, but it’s high, probably higher than 200.”

Higher than 200?

No, this was not funny at all. If they had higher levels than 200, it meant that they were on the same rank as the four gods, or maybe as GM Thada even.

“Why do they help the William Star guild in the war?”

“...D ...Dunno.”

CLICK!

After he heard the word ‘No,’ Sven’s hand moved on its own to the trigger and was ready to shoot another shot right away. The one who had the gun on his head hurriedly held his hands up as he turbulently said,

“I don’t know, sir. I really don’t. Leader William is the one who brought them into the army, but some also say that it’s the four who asked to join the army themselves. After a while, they proved to us that they were very skilled. That’s why everyone likes them and makes them chief. That’s all I know.”

After hearing that, Sven shut his eyes closed, letting out a long sigh.

This guy seemed to be just a low-ranking player. ...Well, it was too risky to approach a higher player anyway. But for now, he could confirm that those four were not members of the William Star guild in the first place.

Damn, special supporters, huh.

That William guy really did not like playing by rules at all. Just for winning, he could give up all his pride, couldn’t he? Was there even a man left in him?

He thought, clicking his tongue in displeasure.

“Then here’s the last question, where are they right now?”

After hearing that question, the one who was getting threatened blinked a few times.

“...Well,”

“Where?!” Sven shouted, knocking the gun on the guy’s head harshly.

“They’re at the hotel in the center of the town, sir. Hamilton Hotel, VIP room on the top floor.”

Sven curled up a satisfied smile after he heard the answer.

“Very well, that’ll be all. Thank you.”

He said, slowly pulling the gun away from the one in front of him. Sven opened an information window to command his AI to search for the hotel’s location right away. Then he turned around and started walking out of the alley as the one who had just been threatened felt relieved, thinking that he would live for today...

POOF

Suddenly, Sven turned back and shot at him. The bullet went through the other man’s right shoulder accurately. He did not scream, because the shot knocked him out of consciousness before he even realized it.

“Sorry, but I need you to sleep here for a while.”

After he finished speaking, Sven pulled the hood of the grey coat he was wearing up to cover his head right away.

Now that he had got some brief information. At least he knew what classes the enemies played.

Next, it was time for him to investigate for more details...

“Let’s see what exactly those four players want from this war,” Sven said with a soft smile on his face.
