Chapter 524 - 7 Day’s Part II
Chapter 524 - 7 Day’s Part II
“So, it’s been confirmed that she’s another wild enemy to us, huh?” Allen asked.
Scarlet nodded without saying anything more.
Seeing that, both Allen and Nero got silent as well. Every time Vincent was mentioned in their conversation, it always got them tense up like this. And that was because Vincent had been improving his skill remarkably fast since he first joined the Pride world.
He started as someone who was bad at playing games.
To the hero who defeated Lord Inferno down in one day.
Shortly after that, he slowly learned how to control the Signetic as he defeated many more monsters. In the past 5 months, Vincent had shown them how dangerous he could be, while he was just a kid who had just been able to control Signetic roughly.
But his skills were already on the same levels as the four gods who had been in Pride for years.
“I hope Aaron and Emilia are safe,” Scarlet spoke finally.
“Yeah.” The men agreed.
“The fight’s been taking too long now. If they’re not here yet, it means that they’ve probably failed.” The woman sighed. “I didn’t expect them to succeed anyway. I just wanted to test a lot of things out. I hope that I wasn’t wrong and sent the two out to die.”
Nero reached up to scratch his head. He curled up a wry smile, really wanting to say, “I told you so.”, because it was very obvious from when he tested them out many months ago that Vincent was a dangerous one, ...no, it was the people around him that were even more dangerous!
“Come on, Miss Scarlet. It’s going to be okay.” Nero said.
“Those two will be back safe, trust me,” Allen added. “Until we complete this plan, there’s no one harming us. I’ll make sure of that.”
Hearing that, the woman curled up a smile that looked strangely pale.
“I wish that’s true, Allen.” She sighed. “Because I don’t want my friends to die one after another again. I’ve seen enough of that.”
Everyone looked sorrowful. They did not say anything, just looked at each other.
“Don’t worry.”
But suddenly, a deep voice of someone rang up.
The voice was from the one who had been sitting still the whole time in that corner of the room. The tall man stood up, after speaking again for the first time. His red hair was pushed back, exposing his forehead. His sharp eyes like an eagle’s were red like there were flames blazing in them and his dark lips were spreading out in a thin line.
“Boss.” Everyone called out for the man.
“You’ve finished tuning the signal to Alice already?” Scarlet asked.
“Yeah.” The red-haired man answered.
“You look refreshed. Unlike when you fight the Catarals, you looked so drowsy like you just woke up back there.” Nero said.
“That’s because I had to wake up early.” He said in a calm voice.
Meanwhile, Allen did not say anything. He just curled up a satisfied smirk as he nodded at the red-haired man. And the one who received that smile slightly nodded back in reply.
“How long did I take to tune the signal?” He spoke.
“44 hours and a few minutes,” Scarlet replied.
Hearing that, the red-haired man took a breath into his lungs so deep that his chest puffed out. His ruby-red eyes shut close again as if he was using his brain to think about something. And suddenly, a smile spread across his face right away.
Those red eyes slowly reopened, before he looked up at the ceiling.
“You guys probably got very carefree while I was tuning the signal.” He said with a grin. “That’s why you don’t even realize it when some dirty rat sneaks on us like this.”
“...!!”
Everyone jumped out in shock as their eyes looked at the ceiling quickly right after his words. The red-haired man managed to point his hand up at the ceiling before a red with black tinted aura started glowing out of his palm. A second later, it became a deadly magic beam that launched directly at the target!
BOOM!!!
The room’s ceiling exploded in a large radius. Nero and Allen had to hold their hands up to cover their faces from the heat that blew against them. But in that split second, they saw someone through the hole that was just punched in the ceiling.
“A spy?!” Allen raised his brows.
“That’s crazy! How can they get so close without us realizing it?!” Nero shouted aloud.
Everyone looked back and forth between each other awkwardly, except for one man who remained calm and smiley in the same position. He then managed to summon a white coat out and put it on right away, before stretching his neck left and right softly.
“I’ll go for a little walk.” He spoke. “And while I do so, I’d like to watch wolves hunting a rabbit, would you help me with that?”
Hearing that, Allen and Nero turned to smile at each other, before hopping out through that hole in the ceiling quickly, leaving the red-haired man to turn and smile at Scarlet slightly.
“Is it a good idea to have those two go after the spy? What if it’s Viola?”
“Don’t worry about that, Scarlet.” His smile was small. “...If it was really Viola, she would have rushed at me without hesitation. This one is just a rat. It shouldn’t be a problem.”
----------------
This was not okay...
How did they know even when he blended in so slick like that?
His ruby-colored eyes were focused on his escape path with a confused look in them. Even so, his legs were still running forward as fast as he could. His speed was as fast as a car now. The tall man sprinted and leaped up on the top of the buildings around, using them as a shortcut in evasion. He jumped off from one to another skillfully as his eye caught the city’s wall that was less than 800 meters away in front of him.
If he kept running like this, he was sure that no one would ever catch up with his speed!
He had got something now...
He was right for climbing up there to spy on those guys.
At least he knew what their purpose was now...
And he had to get back to his guild as soon as he could.
Before he decided on what to do next,
He had to avoid this unnecessary fight!
CRACK!
Suddenly, his red eyes widened when something in his brain snapped, making his body twitch like it was shocked by electricity. Then he looked up to the sky, Sven had to curse rudely at what he saw.
“F*ck!”
THUD!!
The tall man lost balance. A wound like a cut by a sharp object appeared on his right cheek. But luckily, Sven chose to stop his feet and leap back to avoid that attack!
It was an attack from the man with short blond hair who owned a large shiny black sword.
“Aw, I will never beat you in hunting rabbits, will it, Allen?”
Shortly after that, the joyful voice rang up with another tall man with long brown hair and silver-framed glasses that made him look twice cunning.
“You’re just too slow, Nero.” The blond-haired man said with a smile. “Or this rabbit probably isn’t as fast as I expected it to be.”
He said, pointing his sword at Sven with the face of someone who had an upper hand.
Seeing that, Nero cracked into an amused laugh, then he turned to look Sven in the eyes.
“I never expected it either.” He spoke. “That the four gods of the Cataral guild would come to spy on us by himself like this. Should we take this as an honor that we should be thankful for?”
The last sentence was spoken as those lavender-colored eyes were glowing like a mischief monster. But Sven was not even startled, even when that sword was scarily pointed in his direction. He still kept his unbothered smile on, while his brain was turbulently figuring a way out of this.
“I thought you’d be smarter than this, Cataral. If I were you, I would never do something so stupid like getting into enemy territory all by myself like this.”
