Chapter 497: Versus ‘Gaia’ and ‘Poseidon’ (1) Part IV
“Actually, I started liking Sister the first second we met,” Samie said with a smile on her face. “So, I’ll be incredibly happy if she finally accepts me. If you do as well. So, time will tell, Love. But for now, Sister probably has a lot to process, so please give her time.”
“...That’s right.”
Wisana replied with a wry smile that spread up as he sighed. He managed to walk closer to the dragon girl, who started to talk so cutely that he could not help but smile as well. Meanwhile, Shin, who was looking at them from afar, just shook his head, irritated at how this smartass always had decent women to support him.
“Thanks,” Wisana said while he was reaching up to Samie’s head.
“No problem. It’s my duty.”
BOOM!!!
But Wisana did not get to stroke the dragon girl’s hair, because there was a shake and the sound of an explosion going off. The tall man propped the girls up instantly. Meanwhile, Shindanai glared out of the window with a shocked face.
“What was that?” Wisana shouted.
“No clues,” Shindanai replied. “But the bump was like we got hit.”
After his words, everyone looked back and forth at each other as if that would give them some answers.
At that moment, the digital sign above the door had the word ‘War’ on it as Warunya’s voice was sounded through all speakers on the ship.
“This is war alert, I repeat, this is war alert. Our ship has been hit from an unknown location plus, there’s an enemies’ force waiting in the territorial sky ahead of us. Everyone be at your station and prepared for battle immediately.”
Shin and Wisana glanced at each other.
“War mode alert. Leader Vincent, Chief Shindanai, please be at the ejection tunnel ASAP! The enemies are approaching the ship. The field unit, ready to battle on the deck now!”
And these words made the two men widen their eyes.
The order to get them to the tunnel meant that the enemies were so close to the ship. Besides, they could attack without them seeing it coming at all, sharp and quiet!
“Holy sh*t!”
Wisana yelled resoundingly, before rushing out of the room with Shin.
“Like I said, Shin, when I get ridiculously lucky, chaos always follows. I shouldn’t have played poker with you!”
“Not the time to talk, hurry up!”
“I am hurrying!”
----------------
“Hurry up, you jackasses. Are you waiting for the enemies to take us down first before you stop being shocked? This is war. Come on, move!”
The shout from the chief of the field unit was resoundingly loud throughout the area. Tunwa’s face was red with anger. If he could bite off someone’s head, he would have done it already.
“Oi, over there, stop lagging. Get your weapons ready. HP potions, too!”
“Y ...yes!”
And then players in the field unit started stomping around turbulently. Some of them were climbing out onto the deck. Some were taking shortcuts by climbing up from the windows.
“And don’t forget, retreat to the ship right away if you’re low on HP. Who freaking dies here, I’m not going to turn back to pick your asses up at the hospital, clear?!”
“Yes, Chief!”
Everyone replied in a soft, wither voice. And at the same time, Wisana and Shindanai had arrived at the exit point. Those amber eyes of the leader were widened out of panic.
“What’s happening?” Wisana asked.
“We’re under attack,” Tunwa answered. “Gargoyles.”
“Gargoyles?” The two repeated in a high-pitched voice.
“Yeah, a huge crowd of them.”
Tunwa turned to open an information window for them to look. Then an image of black spots, looking like millions of them, showed before their eyes. There were black spots flying together towards the ship, blinding the bright sky totally.
“What the hell are they? They look like a swarm of ants!” Wisana yelled in shock.
Meanwhile, Shin knitted his brows together. “Gargoyles in a place like this?”
“I know right.” Tunwa turned to speak with him.
“What are you two implying?” Wisana was curious.
“Gargoyles are not local monsters here. They normally live in the Phantom Death dungeon.”
After hearing Shindanai’s answer, the listener was stunned for a moment. He then glanced at his best friend, so Tunwa nodded slightly in confirmation of Shin’s words.
“Did someone pull them here?”
The irritating one was still in the mood to joke around, making his two friends sigh quietly.
“A whole swarm of them?” Shindanai asked,
“Come on, Na. Use your brain when you think.” Tunwa sighed again.
“Can you guys not joke around? There’re some enemies attacking our ship right now.”
But before the guys could continue talking further, the sweet voice of Miss Captain rang through Tunwa’s information window that he opened. A small image of her appeared on the bottom of the screen, glaring at the three men threateningly.
“This is not the time to discuss what the enemies are or where they come from. Save that for later. The problem right now is they are hitting our ship and you guys have to go out there and stop them.” Maysa briefed, before looking at Tunwa. “Tun, where’s Mister Sander and Kong?”
“They’re outside, with extremely joyful faces.”
“Good.”
She said with a serious face. Then she looked at Shin.
“Shin, go help the field unit on the deck. Try to kill as many Gargoyles as you can. And don’t let them attack our ship ever.”
“’Kay,” Shin replied, then grabbed Tunwa’s arm as if to signal him to rush out and join other players out there certainly.
“And me?” Wisana asked.
“You go to the ejection tunnel. Try to avoid countering the gargoyles and find the real enemy behind this.”
Wisana’s brows were knitted together at her words.
“What do you mean?” He asked.
“Someone else attacked us in the first hit. The attack was a strong water element magic, and that isn’t a gargoyle’s skill. So, find them, and take them down fast.”
“Got it,” Wisana replied. “You be careful, too.”
“Okay.”
After their speaking, Wisana hopped in the round entrance on the wall, which was a shortcut to the ejection tunnel instantly. No one realized that after the leader of the Nemesis guild hopped away, there were two ladies rushing into the room and glaring at the ejection tunnel quietly.
----------------
“This is crazy!”
The shout was heard in panic. And that brought a soft smile to the face of someone as he felt indescribably satisfied.
“Madness?” He repeated. “No, this is not. This is fun!”
Sander, who loved fighting with his heart and soul, shouted back with a big smiley face. His two hands were shaking out of excitement.
“I suppose only you can take this kind of thing as fun, Master.”
“Oi, if I say it is fun, then it is.”
The Master and his disciple were bickering for a moment before they turned to look at the swarm of countless Gargoyles that was flying above the west sea. The dark element monsters were well known for speed and the dangerous Death Stone curse.
A gargoyle monster looked like a gigantic bat with a pair of wings spreading out wide, looking terrifying. And when there were many of them gathering like this, they had no clue how Alexander would get through this crowd of monsters alive.
“How’s it going up here, Mister Sander?”
Then Tunwa and Shindanai joined them. The two young men rushed to the older one who shrugged in response to the question.
“As you can see, there’re plenty of them for you guys to get bored hitting them.”
“Master, this is serious!” Kongkiat scolded.
“Save the bickering for later, you two,” Tunwa spoke, before glancing back at everyone in his team. “You guys hold your positions firmly. Don’t let the enemies get to the ship at all. Take care of each other, too. If you’re hurt, retreat to regenerate inside the ship right away. Got it?”
“Yes.”
The players shouted in response to Tunwa’s orders diligently. Meanwhile, Sander curled the corner of his lips up into a smile as he understood why Wisana assigned this guy to be the chief of the attack unit like this.
“I hope there’re only the Gargoyles here though.”
Suddenly, Shin spoke up softly, getting Sander and Kongkiat’s attention on him.
“What do you mean?”
