Chapter 496: Versus ‘Gaia’ and ‘Poseidon’ (1) Part III

“Those guys are really on time. This is exactly on our schedule to be in the sky territory above the west sea.”

Hearing that, Shindanai glanced through the large glass window in the living room and saw the indigo sky and the vast sea clearly. The sparks from the sunlight reflecting on the water looked pretty like millions of gemstones.

“Then we should arrive in Tristan soon,” Shin said.

“Right.” Wisana nodded in agreement. “I hope we’ll get there without countering any enemies. I want to save my energy for Sven only.”

“Agree.” The listener nodded back.

“Woah! It’s the sea, Mother. Come take a look! Hurry!”

“H ...hold on. Don’t pull me around like this.”

Suddenly, delighted voices of these two girls rang up from the doorway, making the guys turn in the direction and see a 10-year-old girl pulling a slim woman behind her.

“There it is, Mother. It’s so big. Water’s everywhere.”

The little girl clung to the metal bar in front of the glass window with an excited expression, while her other hand was tugging at her mother’s overshirt repeatedly.

“This is the first time you see the sea, right?” The woman with red eyes said smilingly. Her slender hand was stroking her daughter’s hair gently. “By the way, don’t you ever underestimate the sea, sweetheart, because there’re hundreds of dangerous monsters hiding underneath it.”

“I’m not afraid of them.”

The little Mona Lisa, who seemed to be a lot grown up now, said in a delighted voice. She got more talkative and smiley as well. And most importantly, she was very quick to learn things now.

“Good that you’re not. Because a dragon should not be afraid of anything, I warned you that, so you don’t get careless. One day, you will be fighting alongside your father. That’s why it’s important to learn about other monsters as well. Don’t forget it.”

“Yes, Mother!”

“Good girl.”

And then, the mother and daughter turned to smile at each other. After that, Mona Lisa climbed on the bar so she could look at the sea below her clearly. If there was something that did not change in this little dragon, it would be how she was always eager to see and learn new things.

After seeing that, Samie turned to glance at Wisana with a soft smile. It was a knowing smile that was given to him. And this was like a scene in some romantic family movie, wasn’t it? The scene where the mother looked after her kid and quickly took some time to give the father a sweet smile like this!

“Seems like you can be carefree now, Vincent,” Shindanai spoke. “That you have someone taking care of your daughter like this. It’s such a relief, too. Because at least your daughter can now grow up without taking that crazy impulsive habit from you.”

“...”

Wisana could not put it into words, or he just did not know how to defend himself in this. So, he just turned to give the one next to him a look. Meanwhile, the smart mouth one whistled, acting all innocent.

“Mo, don’t bother your mother too much, okay? You haven’t stopped clinging to her since she was here. How about you come hang out with Papa, so Mother can rest a bit?”

Wisana suggested smilingly. He waved his daughter in, but she shook her head as she smiled back at him sweetly.

“It’s okay, Father.” Mona Lisa replied.

“...Father?!” The listener raised his brows.

“You’re busy with your strategy right now. I can stay with Mother, no problem, right, Mother?” The little girl said.

“That’s right, Love.” Samie nodded. “She can be with me, please don’t worry. I can help with this.”

“Well, about that,” Wisana stuttered. “Er, ...and why do you suddenly call me Father instead of Papa, Mo?”

He asked with sweat dripping because this was probably the most shocking thing for him right now.

“Mother told me not to call you Papa. She said it was not polite and that I should be calling you Father instead. You’re also my master anyway, so it isn’t necessary to act so familiar with you.”

Listening to that, his lips parted slightly but no sound came out.

“That’s right, Love.” Samie smiled splendidly. “I apologize if our child ever acted inappropriately earlier. She can be stubborn sometimes, it’s a dragon’s thing. But please don’t worry. I’ll teach our child to be perfect and prepared as a dragon.”

“...But, but...”

Wisana stuttered. His mouth wanted to yell, “Just call me Papa like before!” but the eyes of the people here that were glaring at him, especially Shin’s cold eyes, made him feel discouraged.

“Yeah, I’m counting on you, Love.” He said, looking sadly wither.

“Of course, Love!” Samie accepted happily.

And then, the girls continued enjoying the view, while Wisana’s shoulders were dropping. He never thought that Samie would take one of his happiness away, which was how his daughter clinging to him, that he liked the most. Now, she started to put those lady’s manners in Mona Lisa, which he thought was cool, but could she not wait until their child grew a little bit bigger?!

“Someone’s been forgotten now, huh?”

And when some casually said words were caught by Wisana’s ears, those amber eyes of his quickly turned to glare at the speaker threateningly.

“Just saying,” Shindanai said without looking at him, but he almost slipped that mocking whistle out already.

The one who got mocked only made a clicking sound out of displeasure. His eyes glanced at the dragon girl, Samie, and just noticed that she was wearing a new outfit. Her long black hair which was messily let down before was now tired into a loose ponytail, looking differently cute. She was in a black Nemesis uniform with a unique gold guild pin on the left chest. She was wearing a knee-length, black skirt with a pair of socks that were up to her shins and a pair of sneakers that looked remarkably familiar to his eyes.

“Windy Line?”

Wisana whispered in a surprised voice. Those were the first sneakers he bought back when he went to Lord Inferno’s event a long time ago. And he remembered that he had already given them to Maysa.

“Samie.” He called her.

“Yes, Love?”

The dragon girl replied with a sweet smile.

“Your clothes look different now. Where did you get those?”

“Big sister gave them to me,” Samie said.

“Big sister?” The listener arched his brows. “May?”

“Yes.”

Hearing that, Wisana was surprised even more. He was not sure why May suddenly was nice to Samie, while she had been ignoring him just now. This did not make any sense!

“May’s the one who gave you new clothes?”

“That’s right.” Samie smiled delightedly. “She brought me the clothes by herself and even helped me change them as well. Plus, she told a player to prepare a room for me, too. Even though I told her that I could sleep anywhere, she still insisted, saying that it wasn’t appropriate.”

Wisana narrowed his eyes at the girl before him, before glancing at Shin like he was asking for an opinion. Shindanai, who was not an expert in this kind of thing, just shrugged in response that he did not understand this either.

“Please don’t worry about me, Love. I promise you; I’ll make Big Sister understand. Trust me, I won’t let you and Sister keep being upset with each other for longer than this.”

“Yeah.”

The man just agreed with her. Until now, he still did not understand why Maysa was nice to Samie when she probably disliked this pretty dragon girl. But instead, she adored Samie enough to treat her so kindly like this.

Wisana knew his girlfriend well. If she disliked someone’s face, she would not even bother to care or even look at them at all. But in the case that she took good care of her like this, it meant that Maysa was okay with her.

“Actually, I started liking Sister the first second we met,” Samie said with a smile on her face. “So, I’ll be incredibly happy if she finally accepts me. If you do as well. So, time will tell, Love. But for now, Sister probably has a lot to process, so please give her time.”
