Chapter 494: Versus ‘Gaia’ and ‘Poseidon’ (1) Part I
“We’re heading toward the west sea.”
Maysa said clearly in the bridge room. After the final preparations were done successfully, every chief member of the Nemesis met up for the last meeting before they started their trip.
“We’re mainly following the sea route to Tristan, and that should be the safest route to avoid countering with enemies.”
A transparent screen popped up behind Maysa after she spoke. She pointed to the map on it for everyone to see a line of a river that started out from the west sea and ended in Tristan.
“Isn’t it too risky taking this route?” Manoch argued. “As we all know, this sea route is too narrow. Plus, it’s the only waterboarding route to Tristan, and this isn’t going to draw too much attention to us?”
Maysa shook her head slowly.
“You’re right about the sea route to Tristan. Even though there’re few players travelling into the capital, it’s still a risky spot. However,”
After speaking, she turned to Tunwa who was standing not far from her.
“We’re going to stay in the middle of the water.” Tunwa Spoke. “Normal passenger ships will stay on shallow water to avoid those tough monsters, but we’re going to stay above the deep water that probably doesn’t have anyone hunting monsters in a time like this. Plus, we’ll be flying above the clouds, which should shut down visibility on us as well.”
“I see.” Manoch nodded. “Most people who take the route to Tristan are merchants, and they need to stick to the shore to lower the chance that their goods will be damaged as well.”
“That’s right.” Maysa nodded. “So, this is not going to be our problem. The problem is what do we do next after we get to Tristan.”
Hearing the question, everyone froze right away.
“We can’t lie low at our old base now, right? There’re probably William Star’s forces sticking all over the area.” Waree said.
“Right.” Maysa nodded.
“We’ll land and hide Alexander under the sea first.” Wisana was the one who spoke up, making everyone turn to him. “Our mission is to get Nuch back. And we’re going to make it quiet. We’ll be in a team of four to five people to get to Sven and take Nuch back as fast as possible. So, first thing first, we must hurry and get to our targets before Sven joins the Cataral guild.”
It was rare for Wisana to plan it all out so smoothly like this. So, everyone turned to glance at each other, before nodding in agreement.
“But what if the guy can group up with the Cataral guild before we get there?” Shin asked.
Wisana got quiet for a moment. He looked at Maysa as he considered.
“Then we make a new plan,” Wisana said. “If really necessary, we might have to blend in with the Catarals.”
“But it’s too risky.” Shin objected.
“But we have to do it,” Wisana demanded.
Hearing that, everyone was quiet. Then Wisana walked to Maysa’s side as she reached up to close the screen behind her and looked at her friends.
“What we should do right now is to get to Tristan. Please get ready. Tun, prepare the field unit to be at war at all times, just in case there’s some unexpected thing occurring. Ae, prepare Alexander for the emergency landing on water and underwater. Mek, you work with Orn and Aerin, check our route, and see if there’s any obstacle in our way. Pay attention to the news about which way the enemies are going, so we can avoid countering them as much as possible.”
After those long orders, everyone started walking to work without saying anything more. They were all back at their stations, knowing full well what to do. Until only Maysa and Wisana were left standing there.
The man turned to smile slightly at his lover. However, she responded by snorting and turning her face away sulkily, making the smartass’s face turn wry.
“This is Aerin asking you guys to get ready. In the next 10 minutes, Alexander will take off right away!”

“So, how was it?”
The gentle voice that sounded bored rang up with a spiritless face. His rough hand just threw two cards in his hand, before drawing other ones back in the same numbers.
“What are you referring to?”
Another voice replied in a deep tone. The speaker’s hand threw three cards out and drew new ones up in the same number as well.
“I’m referring to the weapon repairing trip you took to Lutier.”
“Well, nothing much really.”
The owner of those lavender-colored eyes replied, unbothered, before spreading the cards in his hands out to look and they showed that he had two pairs.
And seeing that, the one with amber eyes grinned, before showing his cards on the table right away.
“Sorry, three of a kind here.”
Seeing the other’s cards, the prudent one like Shin made a snorting sound out of his throat.
“How can you always win one point over me, Vincent?”
“It can’t be helped, I’m just too lucky.”
Wisana said in a delighted voice as thousands of coins had been added to the one that was already on the information window beside him. And those were the same thousands of coins that Shin had just lost as well.
“Nothing much in the trip went fine, or nothing much you want to share with me?” Wisana asked while he started shuffling the cards again quickly.
“Probably both.”
Hearing that answer, Wisana shook his head. And then, he curled up a mischievous smile.
“If you don’t know where to start, then I’ll make the question more specific.” He said, started handing out cards for another round. “First question, how’s your repaired weapon? I heard from Ae that it’s been neatly upgraded, hasn’t it?”
“Yeah.”
Shin replied briefly and looked at his given cards.
“What’s that ‘yeah’ supposed to mean? How cool is it?” Wisana asked smilingly.
“It’s four times better now.”
“It’s that cool, huh?” He laughed delightedly and checked his cards as well. “I’m glad to hear that. And Ae said you blew off your friend’s workshop entirely when you tested the weapon, didn’t you?”
“Yeah,” Shin said, throwing two cards out of his hands. “But there was a problem as well because that girl was banned from Lutier for causing the town serious damage. That is why she’s relocated to be somewhere around Ziggard for now.”
“What?” Wisana arched his brows. “Aren’t you the one who caused her trouble then?”
“Well, not really. The casinos in Lutier had been wanting to cast her out of the town for a while. So, they didn’t blow their chance to kick her out when this happened.” Shin shrugged, unbothered. “But my friend didn’t care. She even said that the money she got from the casinos was more than enough to spend for the rest of her life already.”
“What an interesting person.”
Wisana said smilingly then put three cards down before both drew new ones to replace the ones they threw.
“You wouldn’t say that if you met her in person,” Shin said.
“Why’s that?”
“She’s the biggest mess.”
“No, she seems fun.” Wisana grinned. “I don’t know if your friend really is a mess, but anyway, I got a straight here, dude.”
“...” Shin did not say a word as he looked up from his cards to the face of this smartass in front of him. Then, he folded those cards on the table without showing them at all, because it was just a pair!
The luckier one smiled annoyingly, before glancing at the coins in his account. Then he realized, if they kept playing, he would absolutely rob Shin broke.
“Let’s stop playing. It’s been almost two hours already.”
