Chapter 493: Mysterious News Part VI
Chapter 493: Mysterious News Part VI
“What do you mean by that?”
“It doesn’t have the sender’s name, but we think that they’re probably not one of us.”
Waree was the one who explained because both her best friend and brother sounded so blunt that it was hard to tell what mood they were in right now.
“But an outsider shouldn’t have found our channel.”
Aerin spoke up right away. She had been working on Pride’s communication system so she kind of became more expert now.
“Guild’s private channels have been firmly secured by Pride’s staff, so no one should be able to interfere, except for the GMs. I’m sure.” Aerin said.
“Then this is strange.” Shindanai, who was standing in the back, knitted his brows together. “Apart from being able to hack our channel, these people know who Nuchjaree is. And believe me, if this is some common player’s doing, there’s no way they can trace one of the four gods like Sven. So, I think the sender is an insider in his guild’s allies, or...”
“There’s probably a traitor among the Cataral, huh?” Sander commented.
“It’s still strange,” Kongkiat spoke. “If this person was really a traitor, they would have sent this mail to some bigger guilds than ours. Because wouldn’t it be better to send Pandora or the Bunny Burner guild so they could get rid of Sven from the war?”
Everyone agreed with the youngest brother of the guild. Wisana placed his hand on his lips as he considered it, and finally, he said.
“Maybe Shin’s right.” He turned to everyone. “The sender knows Nuchjaree well that she is the Nemesis, that’s why they sent us the mail. They know that we will definitely go to save her, and that’s their purpose for sending these photos to us.”
“To give us location.”
Mek said with a serious face. His eyes glanced back at those photos again.
“Does the mail have any message that tells where Nuch is?” Wisana asked.
“No, it doesn’t,” Waree answered.
“There’re just the photos and the address to you directly,” Maysa added.
Listening to that, Wisana got even more confused. The sender did not address it to the Nemesis guild, but to him directly. They knew he was back to Alexander, which meant that they knew the guild’s movement so well.
After the thought, Wisana caught eye with Maysa to imply something to her.
And of course, the other one nodded at him in response, understanding what he was trying to say right away.
The Nemesis was being watched.
Not by the four gods, but by some anonymous who had the most wicked skills!
“Does anyone know where Nuch is in the picture? Is it Dores?”
Wisana asked, and everyone shook their heads in unison. Except for Tunwa, he was still staring at those photos with dark orange sky and something appearing clearly in the frames, a tall tower with a windmill spinning on the top.
“Sarvier.”
Tunwa spoke up, making everyone turn their eyes on him.
“What’d you say, Tun?” Wisana asked.
“They’re in Sarvier. It’s a small port town in the northwest. It’s the fastest shortcut to Tristan because there’s a ship route to the capital.”
Everyone froze a little. Then, Tunwa pointed to the large windmill in the photo that had Sven taking off the scarf for Nuchjaree from behind.
“I remember the windmill. I’ve been there when we rented a ship to hunt monsters in the west sea.”
Wisana was silent and stared at the photo Tunwa was pointing at.
"Well, then Nuch and Sven are going to Tristan surely.” He said in a serious voice.
“How are you so sure?” Stella asked.
“Cataral’s just lost, hasn’t it, Miss Stella?” Wisana turned to her and sighed. “Sven’s probably so worried that he has to rush to the front line. Well, who would have thought that his army would lose to that noob William? I would be shocked as well.”
Everyone laughed dryly. They really wanted to laugh at his little joke. But after seeing Nuchjaree in the photos, they could all just smile wryly.
“Anyway, Nuch in the photos doesn’t look like a prisoner at all.”
Sander was the one speaking up casually.
“Seems like he takes care of her so well over there. Too well, even. See, they look like a couple.”
And because of these discreet words, Tunwa turned to stare at the bigmouthed intensely. Meanwhile, the rest were waving their fingers, signaling him to stop talking, making the oldest one raise his brows.
“Did I say something wrong?” Sander smiled innocently.
“You better not say anything more now, Master.” Kongkiat elbowed the older one harshly, making him curl up like a shrimp.
“Let’s forget about that for now.” Wisana cut them off. “We have to go after them to save Nuch anyway.”
After speaking, he looked Tunwa in the eye as if he was telling him to ‘Calm down.’
“I don’t quite agree with that.”
It was Maysa who spoke up out of the blue, making everyone turn and look at her.
“Why?” Wisana asked reasonably.
“Because clearly, this is a trap.” She said, tilting her chin up. “There’s no reason for anyone anonymously sharing a war prisoner’s location with us this easily. And if they really wanted to use us in order to take down Sven, they should have sent this mail to the other four gods like Kong said. So, why was it sent to us? The answer is simple, they want to pull us back into the war, going right on to the path they’ve set for us, too, of course.”
Everyone agreed with Maysa. Her assumption really got a point. Because to look at this situation thoroughly, there was no reason for a stranger to help them this much during a time when everyone was turning their swords against each other like this.
At least the saying, ‘Nothing is for free’ was kind of worth remembering in this situation.
Wisana contemplated his girlfriend’s words. Some of what she said was true, but he just could not leave Nuchjaree behind. He was not that kind of person.
After thinking, he glanced at Tunwa as if he was conveying something to him. Tunwa did not say anything. He just sighed slightly, before nodding at Wisana to decide. However, he knew that if he chose to ignore Nuchjaree right now, Tunwa would ask to go get Nuch back to the guild by himself surely.
That case would be even more risky.
And Wisana could not risk his friend in the war anymore.
“I’m going to save Nuch,” Wisana said in a decisive voice.
“But,” Maysa tried to object.
“I know this is a trap, but even so, I’m going to her still. Because my friend is there waiting for help. I just hope you understand me, May. Because if it was me who was taken, you would rush in to help me without even thinking as well, right?”
Getting this talkback, Maysa was speechless. Then, she sighed tiredly.
She did not dare to look him in the eyes, while her cheeks were blushing slightly like this.
How she got shy like this remarkably reduced the tension in the room. Everyone curled up a slight smile at their captain and leader’s reaction. Even though they had never had an official announcement about their relationship, everyone knew from the first glimpse how much the two loved each other.
“Whatever then,” Maysa said grudgingly.
“Thanks.”
Wisana replied briefly, reaching to ruff her hair softly. She did not resist it, but if it were the usual Maysa, she would have turned to smile at him. This time, however, she had to keep her grumpy attitude up, since she was still mad at him!
“Well, Aerin, please tell Orn and Ae to hurry up in their supply checking,” Wisana commanded.
“Certainly, Boss.” Aerin smiled sweetly, before running back to her workstation.
“Tun, go get the rest of us here. We’re having an urgent meeting about what to do next for the Nemesis.”
“Yeah,” Tunwa replied and walked out of the room.
“Mek, you’ve run Alexander’s condition checkup already, haven’t you?” Wisana turned to ask their navigator.
“Yes, sir. Our baby boy is completely fit to fly now.”
“Nice.”
Wisana smiled at him, then his amber eyes looked up at the indigo sky again. Today had nice weather, perfectly suitable for travelling. His big, soft smile came across his face. His army was ready for war now with some new strength that made them two times stronger.
It was time for the Nemesis to go wild out there again now.
“Alexander, get ready to take off. Our destination is the capital, Tristan.”
