Chapter 492: Mysterious News Part V

Chapter 492: Mysterious News Part V

“May, I’m kidding. Are you taking it seriously?”

Waree asked with a worried face, because judging from Maysa’s face, it looked like she was considering Waree’s words seriously.

“I don’t know yet,” Maysa said smilingly. “But that’s probably a good way out.”

The smile on her face which looked openly worried went wider. And seeing that, Waree could not help but feel sorry for her friend. So, she held her arm around her shoulder tighter to comfort her.

“There, everything will turn out okay. I’m always here with you.” Waree gave her a sweet smile.

“Thank you.” Maysa pressed her forehead against the other. “Anyway, what about you, Nam? You’re back to being lively again like this means that taking a long trip with that ‘someone’ worked very well huh?”

“Huh?”

Waree arched her eyebrows when Maysa purposely changed the subject to be about her all of a sudden.

“Don’t play dumb. You’re okay with Shin now, right?”

The listener let out a long sigh.

“No.”

“Yeah, that’s progress.” Maysa curled up a sweet smile. “At first you didn’t even admit that you’re mad at him, but at least you started being honest about your feelings now.”

“May.” The one who was getting teased said in a low voice, making Maysa laugh aloud.

“Compared with your cheeky brother, Shin didn’t do anything wrong. Just forgive him already. He also made it clear that he only thinks about the Fahsai girl as a sister, didn’t he?”

“How he feels about someone has nothing to do with me.”

Waree snapped in a high-pitched voice. She crossed her arms and turned away, even though the one who she should be throwing this kind of attitude on was that quiet guy.

“Come on now.” Maysa tried to compromise with an amused smile on her face. “If you don’t care then why are you sulking? What are you even sulking him for anyway though?”

The listener froze for a moment like she did not expect to be asked this question before. Waree glanced at Maysa and saw her sassy friend staring at her like she was forcing her to answer.

“It’s nothing.” Waree looked away, trying to avoid this.

“Aw, if it’s nothing, then why are you still upset with Shin? There has to be a reason, alright?”

“Because I can. We were talking about you and Na just now, how come it’s turned out to be about me now?”

“Don’t try to change the subject, Miss Waree.” Maysa smiled teasingly. Her hand reached to scratch under the chin of her best friend. “Tell me why you’re upset with Shin, so I can gossip, oops, I mean so I can help you.”

Maysa acted to cover her mouth at the last sentence. And that made Waree detect a lot of danger creeping around her!

BEEP, BEEP, BEEP,

But as if there was a bell to save Waree’s life. Right now, a notification from one of the monitors in the bridge room went off.

Now, every player in the guild was grouping up with their units and getting ready to take off again, including Warunya who had to take care of the green items from her unit, as well as Miss Stella and Aerin who had to get ready with the medical unit. That was why there were only Maysa and Waree left on the bridge.

Waree instantly walked to that communication window, looking openly happy.

She clicked on a button to check what the notification was about.

“Eh... seems like someone sent us a message, probably from our reconnoiter unit we sent to all around the Pride world.”

Waree said delightedly as she quickly typed on the keyboard to open the message up on Alexander’s channel to read.

“You’re really obvious, Nam. But just you wait, I’ll make you talk eventually.”

“Yeah, keep trying.” The sassy one turned and stuck her tongue out at Maysa.

Shortly after, the vice of the Nemesis typed on the keyboard to make the mail open up, then she dragged it to the center of the screen to read right away. And then, what she saw in it made her brows knit themselves together.

“Who sent it, hm?” Maysa asked.

“It’s anonymous,” Waree answered with a strange expression.

“That’s probably for safety reasons. There’re a lot of those who hack communication channels lately, especially the association of explorers who are desperate for some news.”

Maysa guessed the possibility, which Waree kind of agreed with her.

“But Tunwa told everyone to use secret codes that are known among our guild when contacting the base, didn’t he? Like the intelligence unit is ‘White Angle,’ or something like that.”

“That’s right.” Maysa touched her lips as she considered it,

“But this one doesn’t even have a heading, so it means that...”

“It was sent from someone outside the guild.”

The two were finally on the same page. Two different colored pairs of eyes looked at each other anxiously. Because if this was a message from a stranger, how did they find out that this channel belonged to Nemesis?

“Someone got the wrong channel or something?” Maysa asked.

“No, it’s not.” Waree shook her head, “It’s addressed directly to Na.”

After speaking, Waree pointed to the envelope that was written “To Vincent” clearly.

Seeing that, the girls caught eye in worry.

“Let’s see what it says,” Maysa said,

“Yeah.”

Waree said, using her two fingers to drag the envelope up and what was attached inside it popped up on the screen, and it made the girls widen their eyes out of shock. The mail was not actually a message or voicemail, but it was a few photos.

The photo of two people that made Maysa widen her eyes.

“Nam, get everyone here. We’ve got a situation now!”

“Okay.”

Waree hurriedly rushed out to do as her friend asked, while Maysa turned her eyes back to the photos again with a strange feeling. The photos had a remarkably familiar-looking girl, and she was standing next to a man whom Maysa knew, even though she had never met him in person before.

He was one of the four gods, Sven.

And the girl was the chief of the intelligence unit, Nuchjaree!

----------------

“What is all this about?!”

Tunwa was the one who yelled the loudest after Waree called a meeting in the bridge room and everyone got to see the photos sent by a mysterious person thoroughly.

The photos were taken when Nuchjaree riding the traveling bird closely with Sven, then she was handled down on the ground, when her scarf was taken off by the man behind her, when she turned to bicker with him familiarly, and the last one was taken when he held her hand to somewhere. And most importantly, there was no picture looking like they were a guard and a prisoner of war at all.

Instead, they looked just like they were lovers.

Wisana glanced at Maysa in confusion, before he looked at his best friend Tunwa who looked quite shocked. But above all, he was trying to look at these photos over and over like he was trying to find something wrong with them.

“Who sent these photos?” Wisana turned to ask Maysa.

“We don’t know.” She shook her head. Her voice sounded terse.

“What do you mean by that?”
