Chapter 483: The Change of War Part I
Chapter 483: The Change of War Part I
“Welcome back. Chief Tunwa. How was your monster hunting today?”
“Yeah, it was okay. Oh, hey, I got this item today.”
The tall man with golden-brown hair walked in as he took his jacket off because the hot weather and the sweat that soaked on him were unbearable.
“Woah, a Halo Sphere! We’ve been looking for one for a long time. Now we can make a lot of upgrades to our missiles on Alexander with it.”
“Yeah, that’d be great.”
The owner of those green eyes said slowly. He put the pink crystal the size of a Ping Pong ball in the hand of the player, who could not stop smiling ear to ear after he got a piece of this rare item.
“Where’s Chief Warunya though? I have a field report to give her.”
Tunwa asked with a calm face. He wrapped a towel around his neck so he could use it to wipe the sweat off his face.
“Oh. She’s probably on the bridge.”
“Okay, thanks. You can go now.”
The man smiled at his guild mate. Then he turned around and walked toward the ship’s bridge. His large hand was rubbing his hair with the towel, while he was getting past other guild members who were walking around to do their tasks. Clearly, even though the Nemesis guild was isolating itself away from the war, they were not refraining from actions.
They were all still doing their jobs to make sure that the guild’s force was ready for the war as much as they could.
Tunwa took a turn and walked past a group of players that was discussing the ‘Nightingale Gunner’ updates. And from the looks on their faces, the discussion was so ridiculously stressful that it made Tunwa laugh amusedly.
“This guild really doesn’t need any chiefs, I guess. They can work independently without even the need to be commanded.”
He said jokingly, before placing his hand on the security scanner by the entrance of the ship’s bridge. Shortly after, there was a notification saying, “DNA Correct.,” before the automatic door instantly opened.
“Huh?”
The first thing Tunwa saw was a group of people crowding together in the bridge room, even though he was expecting only Warunya and Miss Stella to stay at their station here.
The said women were standing with wry faces. Miss Stella was bandaging for someone who was blocked from his sight. There were other two men with them who he recognized right away from their backs. One of them was the master of the magic warrior class and the other was Kongkiat kid, Sander’s age-different duo who seemed to be getting as fast at catching jokes as Tunwa’s cheeky best friend now.
“Hello. Mister Sander, Kong. When did you get back?”
Tunwa greeted in a delighted voice, making the duo turn to smile back at him.
“A while. You look like you are doing well, Tun.” Sander winked at him.
“Hello, Mister Tun.” Kongkiat bowed.
“Come on, no need for formality, kid.”
Tunwa said, before walking up to ruff the younger’s hair with endearment.
“Oh, hey Orn, I’ve searched another 5 kilometers today. I’ll send you the full report.”
Tunwa turned to his friend with a smiley face. However, the name owner nodded at him, looking awkward somehow.
“Why are you making that face?” Tunwa asked.
“Well, that is why.”
She tilted her head to where Miss Stella was standing. Tunwa followed the direction and saw that she was busy with medical treatment on someone in the captain’s chair.
And when he realized who he was staring at, Tunwa yelled.
“Holy sh*t! Na!” The smile on his face turned awkward as well now.
“I’ve been sitting here for ages, but thanks for noticing. Ow! Miss Stella, could you be gentler, please? It hurts.”
The voice of some pain in the ass spoke loudly. His hands reached up to hold his face, while he was making a hissing sound through his grinded teeth. And seeing that, Tunwa burst out laughing, not being able to hold it anymore.
The reason for that was probably because there were scratches that clearly were from ‘fingernails’ across both his cheeks. He got dark bruises around his eyes, including bullet wounds and a shocking number of cursed scars all over his body.
“What, you left as a hot girl, but why were you back looking like you just had a fist fight with a grizzly bear like this, dude?”
After that annoying question, Wisana made a snorting sound out of his throat.
“I don’t think a grizzly bear could beat me up this hard!” He snapped.
Tunwa laughed out loud at his words.
“What did you do to make May this angry?”
The owner of those green eyes said, before curling a slight smile. And when his eyes caught a girl who was staring at Wisana all the time with a caring look in her eyes, his smile went wider.
“Let me guess.” He said, tilting his chin to Samie. “It has something to do with this pretty girl, right? Why? Did your pheromones go wrong again?”
Hearing the question, the popular one snarled at his best friend right away.
“Haha, that’s funny!”
“Damn, I was just teasing.” Tunwa smiled widely. “Anyway, where did May go now? Don’t tell me you murdered her in the forest out of anger already?”
“Hey! I’m not a freaking psycho killer! And please look again who was actually trying to murder who!”
After his words, every man in the room cracked into laughter. However, the girls did not find it funny, because they were still disturbed to see their leader get beaten this badly for the first time. So, they thought, maybe the strongest one in the guild was actually Maysa!
“No, really, where’s May?” Tunwa repeated.
“In her room,” Warunya answered. “She said she needed some time alone to cool off. And trust me when I say that it took three of us before we could get her off this guy.”
Tunwa laughed amusedly in his throat, before turning to look at his best friend again.
“Are you okay, Bro? Do you need help with anything?” He asked, winking at Wisana.
“I can handle this.” Wisana sighed. “But I might need a lot of time and emotional support. Maysa’s normally quick to be mad, and quick to let go. But this time, I’m not sure how long she’s going to keep sulking, because it seems like she’s seriously angry at me this time.”
Wisana said and glanced at Samie with a weary face. The girl smiled back at him innocently and adorably, not even realizing that she was the cause of the couple’s fighting.
Warunya, who had been listening to the conversation for quite a while, sighed as well.
She turned to Wisana with an awkward smile.
“Anyway, Shin’s party just contacted me.” She spoke.
“Yeah? What did they say?” Wisana asked,
“They said that they ran into some problems, but told us not to be worried, and that they would make it back here before office time.”
Wisana nodded at her words, before resting his back against the chair tiredly.
“Our break’s probably ended now, huh.” He said smilingly.
“No, you’re the only one who got the break.” Tunwa bugged in. “I had to go out and farm every day, and I was worried that other armies would see us so badly.”
“Well, save the complaints for when you’re not the field unit chief anymore, Tun.”
The leader said sarcastically, making the listener snarl at him in annoyance. But at the same time, Tunwa was amused to think that even though Wisana’s face was covered in traces of fingernail, his annoying mouth had not dropped down at all.
“But I’m afraid that what we should be worried about right now isn’t our break ending, Boss.”
