Chapter 484: The Change of War Part II

Chapter 484: The Change of War Part II

“But I’m afraid that what we should be worried about right now isn’t our break ending, Boss.”

Warunya spoke in a calm voice. And hearing that, everyone turned to look at her with their brows knitted together.

“Is there any emergency?” Wisana asked.

“There sure is. I got some news from our special intelligence players who have infiltrated all over Pride just now.”

“What does it say?” Tunwa asked.

“You guys remember that a few days ago, Cataral guild’s force started moving to find the last holy crystal that belongs to William Star, right?”

Everyone looked at each other, before nodding to Warunya.

“Yeah, we do.”

“Right, so, the news informs us that Cataral’s force was completely destroyed in this battle. Moreover, the one who beat them was William Star’s force alone.”

After hearing her words, everyone was stunned, especially these two best friends who glanced at each other. And then, Tunwa even started picking his ear like he wished to believe that he just misheard it. Meanwhile, Wisana looked at Warunya like he was asking her for a double confirmation, which she gave him by nodding grudgingly.

“Huh? The noob’s guild just beat up the entire army of Sven?!!!”

----------------

“Then, I’d like to thank you for the benefits that the Catalral guild will provide us, the Hown citizens, in the future.”

“You’re welcome. It’s a fair trade for the both of us anyway.”

Seven replied with a calm expression. This tall figure was sitting on an expensive sofa in this fancy guest room in Hown. In the same room as him, a middle-aged man dressed in an old-fashioned suit, looking imposing with a beard around his mouth.

“So, Cataral guild wants our contract to be covering the entire war period?” The bearded man said with a smile.

“Yes, please. We’d like to have you until the end of the war, Mister John.”

“With my pleasure, Mister Sven.”

After that, both men, who were approved by the only girl in this room for being ‘neat,’ reached out to shake hands formally.

That made the girl, who had been quiet in this room the whole time, roll her eyes at this situation she had never seen before. At least, she had never seen Sven making business deals with someone older than him like this. And it looked very strange to her eyes because, in fact, this Sven was a teen as well. He should be interested in sports and games like other guys his age.

But the longer she stayed with him, the more she realized that he was mentally older than his age. He was acting like those uncles who were well experienced with society right now!

“Fake.”

She muttered under her breath by herself, making the bearded man glance at her with a sweet smile.

“Did you say something, Miss?”

Nuchjaree froze for a second but still managed to return him with the most natural-looking smile.

“Nothing, Mister John. I was just muttering to myself. Maybe that was because I happened to be annoyed by someone.”

She stressed her voice as she stared at Sven, making the listener burst into a loud laugh.

“Seems like you’ve done something to upset your girlfriend, Mister Sven.”

Sven paused for a moment, before curling up a smile.

“Perhaps, I have, but I’m still not sure what she could possibly be sulking about.”

“I’m not sulking!” Nuchjaree snapped. “And don’t just get along with whatever Mister John said. I’m not your girlfriend. Don’t flatter yourself!”

“And since when did I ever say that you’re my girlfriend?” Sven smiled like he had the upper hand. “I’m not the one flattering myself. It’s you.”

“You!”

They did not continue bickering, because John suddenly cracked into a loud laugh. And that made Nuchjaree stop her mouth, but still turn to give Sven the look. Meanwhile, the sassier-mouthed one was just reaching up to cover his laugh amusedly.

“You both remind me of myself when I was flirting with my wife.” He smiled at Nuchjaree. “We bickered like this all the time, and she always liked playing hard to get. But somehow, and before I realized, we just kind of ended up together.”

“That’s absolutely not going to be me and this narcist psycho.” Nuchjaree snapped.

“Huh, I’m not interested in a sadist chopping block either.”

“Hey!”

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

The sound was like a bell to stop these boxers in time. However, it was actually some notification that was coming from Sven’s communication window. The man then curled up a smile, because he was too lazy to continue talking back with this dashing, loud girl, too.

“I have to get this. May you excuse me, Mister.”

“Oh, no problem. Take your time.”

The bearded man handed his palm out like an invitation. And Sven did not forget to wink at Nuchjaree, before walking out the door and opening the communication window up.

Nuchjaree waved her fist after him in irritation. She huffed out and groaned, sounding almost like an overdriving machine.

“You’re probably special to him, Miss Nuchjaree.”

Suddenly, the middle-aged man who was left in the room with her smiled softly. Meanwhile, the only girl here made a creased face as she said, “You think?”

“Don’t be surprised.” John smiled amusedly. “Normally. Sven doesn’t pamper anyone like this, wait, no,”

After pausing for a moment, the middle-aged man shook his head slightly.

“Actually, I’ve never seen him act like this to any woman before.”

“So, you don’t know this guy so well. He’s really slippery!” Nuchjaree said, looking annoyed.

“That’s why I think you’re a special one to him.” John nodded at her, “Because he teases you and talks naturally to you. Honestly, you’re the first one I see to get treated differently by the black bullet of Cataral.”

“...”

Nuchjaree could not speak. In fact, she looked almost like she turned her face away.

“That guy just wants to bully me.” She stuttered.

“That’s not true. I’ve been working with him for a long time, I know what this man is like. He’s not the type to talk more than necessary. He never teases around with anyone. Even with his guild members, he doesn’t treat them like this. Normally, when we discuss business, it will be just he and I who get to sit on this set of sofas, you know.

John spread his hands out wide to confirm his words.

“Even his close guild members get to stand, waiting for us to finish talking. But who are you to get his invitation to sit down with us?”

After speaking, he curled up a mischievous smile, making the girl blush for no reason. She probably thought of the first time she walked into this room. She remembered well that Sven was even the one who pushed her back to sit first.

Well, she was unintentionally blushing because of the great amount of gentleman manners this Sven had!

“I know you have the proof for my words, Miss Nuchjaree.”

Nuchjaree could not put her words together. She just turned away because she did not want the man to see her blushing face. And of course, John just smiled amusedly in response.

BANG!!

However, the two had not continued their conversation any further when the door of the lounge slammed open loudly. Then the tall body of Sven walked into the room quickly with an expression that made him look like a different person.

“Mister John, our deal is now successful.” He spoke fast. “So, would you excuse me? I have some guild business to urgently handle. I’ll contact you later to keep you updated about the progress. And the Cataral will send in our specialists on mine development later.”

Hearing that, John frowned his brows, but he stood up to keep his formal manner still.

“What’s happening, Mister Sven? Is there anything I can help you with?”
