Chapter 478: The Forbidden Weapon, “Dark Longinus” Part VI
Chapter 478: The Forbidden Weapon, “Dark Longinus” Part VI
“Damn, the whole room was coated with Mithril, and this thing just blew it up in the blink of an eye?”
Snow spoke with a smiley face, but her clear cheek started to have some huge drops of sweat running down like she never expected the deadly weapon she made would be this deadly.
The next second, there was a magic circle in the shape of a six-pointed star appearing in front of Shin. And then he just knew what to do next. He reached the magic circle, and he felt something messing with his body, making him feel hot and disgusted.
“Come out.”
He whispered. His left hand that was reaching inside the circle froze like he was holding on to something.
“Come on out, my weapon.” He clenched his jaws. “Come out here now, Longinus!!”
After shouting, his left hand yanked something out of the magic circle right away. The tall man got knocked back and almost lost his balance, but his dominant foot stepped on the floor steadily.
He could feel its power in his left hand as his eyes glanced at it. Right now, a large spear clearly appeared. The Longinus looked completely different from before. It got larger but lighter. The blade had black and white strips swirling into each other. As well as the handle, in the middle of it, there was a decorative part like a pair of small wings spreading out of there.
“The new Longinus, huh,” Shin whispered softly.
“Right,” Snow said smilingly. “I’ve adjusted it to have only two elements from originally four element abilities. I think just two modes are already enough with light and dark elements.”
“Dark element.” Shin frowned his brows. “So, this is the forbidden weapon you were talking about.”
“Correct.”
Hearing her confirmation, everyone had that look on their faces.
If a forbidden weapon was spoken about, it meant that there would be a dark element involved. Normally, players were not banned from using dark element weapons in the Pride world. It was just that these weapons would destroy the users. In other words, they were the weapons that consumed their users’ lives, or the cursed weapons.
Shin was reminded of the ‘7 Curses’ that Wisana used to beat Ouroboros. Back then, it was clear that the weapon’s abilities were quite high, but it was the weapon that messed with the user all the time.
“There’ll have to be some risk in using a nice weapon, and I’m sure that you’ll find a way to fix that risk eventually, Shin.”
Snow said with a smiley face, before pointing to the spear in Shin’s hand.
“First of all, I’m sorry that your Longinus is now back to level 1 again.” Hearing that, Shin knitted his eyebrows together. “But second of all, congratulations for your Longinus to have four times more abilities than before.”
“Up to four times?” Manoch spoke softly.
“Plus, it doesn’t require your MP, or any other ingredients when you summon it out like when it was the Four Seasons. But its flaw is that there’ll be various kinds of curses to screw you over.”
“Like the MP unrestored curse I’m having right now?”
Shin said, before pointing to his chest that there was a blue glowing icon looking like crossing magic scepters, a well-known sign that it was a curse with the effect to make the player unable to restore their MP.
“Correct again.” Snow smiled sweetly. “The more you use Longinus, the stronger the curse will be. So, think thoroughly about how you’re going to use it, okay?”
Listening to that, Shin looked at his brand-new spear consideringly. And he started liking it even more. First, even though it looked large, it was not hulky. Plus, it was very light and very easy to handle.
But while Shin was studying his new weapon, Waree spoke up.
“But from what I see, it’s a very dangerous weapon to the user.” She spoke. “Using it means taking the risk of the curses. What if he randomly gets the Soul Ripper curse and dies instantly?”
Snow smiled at how cautious she was.
She then glanced at Shin, winking.
“This girl has a point. But something’s better done than said. Would you help me demonstrate that what you must pay for the Longinus is worth it to everyone?”
Shin glanced back at his friend, then nodded and smiled out of satisfaction.
“That’s what I want right now.”
“That’s my friend.”
And then, Snow put a cigarette between her lips, before proceeding to another corner of the room to get a basket that had many kinds of crystal. After that, she walked to the middle of the workshop and kicked everything else out of the way.
“I’m going to make something for you to test out your weapon.” She spoke discreetly. “With one condition, don’t you ever hold back, okay? I want to see its damage as well.”
She said, hands tossing those crystals and minerals to pile up together and eyes looking for the things she needed in the basket. Manoch almost had a heart attack when he saw that every piece in the basket was all the best kinds of crystals that had an extremely high price in the market. A gram of them could even be worth a million.
And she was throwing them on the ground like they were worth nothing!
“Are you sure about this, Snow? I might damage your workshop, you know.”
“Ugh! Don’t mind that. I have dozens of workshops all over Pride. Plus, this room is coated with tons of Mithril. It’s not going to be destroyed that easily.”
“Well then, if you insist.”
Snow smiled at his words, before walking away from that pile of crystal variety. Then she reached into her pocket for a lighter and lit the cigarette up right away.
Her beautiful pink lips pressed against each other as she took in a deep breath of Nicotine in her lungs.
“This cig tastes very good. It seems like we’ll get a good one, too, this time.”
After speaking, she flicked the cigarette out at the pile of items before her.
BOOM!!
In the blink of an eye, fire caught up from the pile of items before them. The heat made everyone reach up to cover their faces out of instinct, unlike Shin who was just staring at it. The fire then started swirling in together like it was forming a shape. The crystals and minerals started melting into each other and beginning to look like a monster!
“Awesome that she can make a golem within a few seconds like this.”
Manoch said, impressed...
Making golems was an ability of weapon crafters. They used items like crystals and minerals as the main materials in making one. And only one of the best crafters could make a golem this instantly!
“This is my best golem made of more than 20 types of grade A crystals. Try to destroy it, Shin. Even though it has the same armor points as a boss monster, I still expect it not to be too hard for you, Shin.”
Snow walked to place her hand on Shin’s shoulder softly. And listening to that, the owner of those lavender-colored eyes glanced at his friend again.
“Are you sure?” He repeated.
“About?”
“That I can attack with full strength.”
And then, a delighted smile crossed her face.
“Yeah, hit it with all you got.”
----------------
It was 11 o’clock in the morning, but Lutier, the city of the night, was still coated with a dark sky with a full moon hanging up there and its people were walking crowdedly on the streets.
There were merchants doing their small business by the side of the large footpath around the center of the city.
Every citizen here seemed to be pleased with this city of opportunity because some of them opened their information windows up to check the money in their accounts with delighted faces.
BOOM!!!!!
But suddenly, this harmony was completely stopped.
Because there was a large explosion going off from under the city, breaking up through the street over it to be like a massive hole. The tall buildings nearby, too, all collapsed down, causing an uncommon vibration!!
A heavy cloud of smoke erupted into the air as if a plane had just flown over and dropped a bomb on the location.
"W ...what was that? Some gas pipes exploded or something?”
“Gas your ass. That was as strong as a Napalm bomb. ...A terrorist?!”
People in the area panicked. Some of them were running for their lives, some were hurt from doing that. But surely, when everyone glanced at the center of where the bomb blasted the ground up, they all witnessed the same terrifying thing.
The bomb blew a massive hole up from hundreds of meters deep underground, looking almost like an enormous drill just pierced through it with immense strength!
“Come on now, what the hell happened here? Did someone just drop their atomic bomb?”
