Chapter 463: Versus ‘Golden Trickster’ Part I

Chapter 463: Versus ‘Golden Trickster’ Part I

“Hurry up, Jeng. We’re about to catch it now.”

The fast shout was heard as the slender one rushed deep into the wood so agilely that the man who was running after her ground his teeth tightly, panting as he went.

“Can you slow down a bit, puffed chest!”

The man with upward-pointing hair whined, sounding like he was running out of breath. Even he was taller with longer legs and was quite confident about his agility.

But that confidence had been taken away from him after seeing this tiny woman hastening in front of him as fast as a cheetah, (even though this girl had something huge that should be weighing her down.)

“I don’t want to waste any more time.”

Wisana shouted back, before crouching down to avoid a branch quickly.

“If Mona Lisa wakes up and sees the golem, she’ll definitely attack it. If the monster can put her to sleep again in time, then we’re lucky. But a dragon is so quick to adjust and develop. The same poison won’t work on her forever. So, if things turn out to be the case where she goes wild, then there’ll be a huge mess.”

“What do you mean by that, oh!”

Jeng tripped over a rock as he asked, but luckily, he could rebalance himself in time, so he did not fall face down to the ground.

“I mean that Mo’s only level 6. I’m not sure if my little baby would be able to put up with the golem. But something that I’m sure of is she’ll start going on a rampage if she doesn’t see me when she wakes up.”

“And what would possibly happen, if she actually did that?”

“You don’t want to know. Let’s just say that your hotel would be blown away so easily.”

Hearing that, Jeng swallowed. Because in fact, he had experienced little Mona Lisa’s might himself as well, he believed that the girl was not so easy to mess with.

But judging from how Vissara was hastily coming after the monster like this...

This girl was very worried about her daughter.

Jeng took a deep breath then huffed it out harshly to release some of his exhaustion. It had been 20 minutes since she and he left Vanilia village. Jinnie had been active from inside Vissara’s inventory again because she said that she could fight better this way.

They had been running south for about 2 kilometers now. The area was an overgrown wood that was rich in many kinds of tall trees like those in a rainforest. In a normal situation, Jeng would never walk in here by himself, but Vissara just ran in here fearlessly.

And he would not be surprised if he got bitten by a deadly snake right here, because it was scarily dense around here!

“Master, Hold on!”

Suddenly, Jinnie shouted in alert, making Wisana freeze.

And of course, when the two suddenly stopped running, the one who was running close after, totally bumped into the ones in the front. But instead of Wisana getting knocked to the ground, Jeng was the one who fell on his back.

“Ouch, why did you suddenly stop like this?”

“SSSSSH! Quiet.”

Wisana held his hand up as a signal for him to stop talking, before pushing his hair off his ear to listen to something carefully that only he could hear because of his superhuman hearing sense.

BURBLE

And then, Wisana realized that the sound he was hearing right now was...

“The sound of a waterfall?” He whispered.

“What sound? I don’t hear anything.”

Meanwhile, the one with everything like a completely normal human tried to listen carefully, too. But no matter how concentrated he was, all Jeng could hear was the sound of bugs, or leaves that moved with the wind blow.

“It shouldn’t be very far from here. Try not to make a sound from now on, just remember these two hand signs.”

After speaking, Wisana held one of his hands up, clenched into a fist to the side of his face right away.

“This means to stop walking.”

Then he unclenched the fist, opened his palm, and put it down.

“And this means to get down to the ground or hide if there’s a space for that.”

“Why is this necessary?”

The taller one raised his eyebrows confusedly. And seeing that, Wisana, who was expert and experienced in fighting bosses for the past 8 months, informed him that,

“Because you’ll be dead within 3 seconds if you don’t use the signs.”

“O ...okay, got it.”

“Good. Now follow me quietly.”

Wisana nodded with satisfaction. Then he started tiptoeing forward cautiously. Right now, all his senses were alerting him that the area was not safe, and the proof was that there was no other being to be seen here at all...

And Maysa’s quote that was once spoken, saying...

‘The quietest place is the most dangerous place,’ remained in his memory all the time.

Both tried to walk as quietly as possible. Wisana pushed a lot of branches out of their way softly until they reached the end of the path. He pushed the last branch away, before holding his fist up to signal Jeng to stop his feet.

“What is it?” The pointy-haired asked in a whispering voice

Wisana put his finger on his lips, telling Jeng to “Shut up.”

In front of them, there was a waterfall with a not-so-large canal. The clear water was running slowly as the sound of water pouring down naturally was heard resoundingly through the area.

And that was the moment Wisana’s eyes caught the tiny figure of Mona Lisa!

The girl was sleeping by a big rock near the water. Obviously, she was still unconscious, and there was no other being in sight.

“There she is. And no one else is here. Hurry up, go get her.”

After Jeng saw that their target to rescue was not guarded, he was about to go out there to help the girl. However, Wisana head-locked the careless one and hurriedly dragged him back to their hiding spot right away.

“The hell you’re doing?” Wisana scolded.

“Going to save your daughter.”

“You want to die out there?”

“Why would I die? Can’t you see that there’s no enemy here? Do you want to wait until it comes back first, or what?”

Hearing that, Wisana sighed tiredly.

He was probably wrong about letting this guy come with him like this.

“Look, Jeng,” Wisana spoke patiently. “Boss-ranking monsters are not stupid, you know. It’s probably ambushing around here somewhere. And we don’t know if there’re some traps set around Mo or not. But the golem’s definitely nearby.”

“How do you know there?” Jeng asked like he did not quite believe him.

Wisana cracked into a laugh at the question. Then he managed to wink at the other man before he said,

“Purely from my experience, kid.”

The listener looked away like he wanted to avoid his eyes. And seeing that, Wisana turned back to his daughter again to look at her carefully. He tried to find something odd around there, but he did not find anything. There were just some normal rocks by the water.

The golem should not be able to hide behind them.

This was too easy.

“Did you find any traps over there, Jinnie?” Wisana asked.

“There’s no trap found in the area, Master,” Jinnie replied.

“Any signal of the enemy?”

“No, there’s not, Master. Except for the signal from Mona Lisa, in the range of 300 meters, I don’t detect other monsters’ signals either. So, I think it’s probably in camouflage right now.”

“TCH! You’re so good at hiding, huh, stupid golem.”

Wisana clenched his teeth then looked around him carefully again. But the more he looked, the less he found. There was nothing more than rocks and a waterfall...

Well, it was very suitable for having a fight here.

So, if he revealed himself, the golem would reveal itself, too. And before anything else, he had to get Mona Lisa back in the split seconds where it was careless. That was how to be favorable in this battle.

And he was going to use the Cure Stone to create those split seconds where the monster got distracted!

“Jeng, give me the stone.”
