Chapter 46: Chaotic Digging Part II
Chapter 46: Chaotic Digging Part II
“We should split, so we can hurry back to the office.”
Wisana said then he dragged his shovel to a corner. As well as Manoch who nodded in agreement before he ran in the opposite direction. After walking for a while, Wisana finally found a spot to start working. He tried to keep a distance from Maysa and Manoch to share the work in approximately the same amount of space to dig.
At first, he thought that he troubled his friends for making them help him on his quest.
But then Maysa said it was okay. Because even though it was not their quest, they could still sell the gemstones they found in the market anyway. And if they could find more than one level 4 earth gemstone that they had to hand in for the quest, they could make up to 300,000 coins apiece.
That was why they kept digging in the sand without any complaints.
And that was why they were friends, too. Greedy just like each other...
“Jinnie,” Wisana called his AI.
“Yes, master?”
“Is there any specific way to tell if the spot has an item inside?”
“No, there is not, master.”
Her answers made him sigh.
“So, we just have to randomly dig the sand up until we find it?”
“That is correct. But I have some tips to help you find the item faster. Would you like to hear it?”
“Sure.” Wisana smiled broadly.
“To find the items on Crevier faster is trying not to dig in the same spot. Because if you collect the items, there will not be a new one for 5 minutes. And for the tip in digging, try to dig in for approximately 10 centimeters. If you dig this deep and do not find anything there, you can change the spot right away.
“Um, thank you so much, Jinnie. I can always count on you.”
“You’re welcome, master.”
AI Jinnie replied sweetly. She sounded very happy when Wisana complimented her, and it was also because she had not had a conversation with her master for quite some time.
And when Wisana knew how to dig properly, he rolled up his sleeves, licking his upper lip in a ready position.
“Alright, let’s get this done!”
PING!
“Player Wisana has found 3 items.”
Being another one who found something at his first digging, drawing attention from the other two to look at him. After a few seconds, the glow on the ground started to change into shapes.
“Player Wisana has earned 2 pieces of level 3 earth gemstones.”
“Player Wisana has earned 1 topaz.”
The man raised his eyebrows.
Three items at once?
Why was his luck so good?
“You got three pieces at once? You’re doing great, bro. That topaz can be sold in the market for like fifty thousand coins.”
Manoch’s shout came through the air, making the one who was collecting the items widen his eyes.
“Fifty thousand?!”
He blurted out in shock before he looked down at the pretty gem in his hand. Then he forced out a wry smile.
He guessed that maybe the miner class would fit him more than this magic warrior thing!
“That’s cool, Wisana!” Maysa yelled from afar, too.
“Yeah, bro, so much cooler than someone around here. Well, I guess that’s the difference between the lucky ones and the hapless ones.
“Ae!”
“Keep digging, keep digging.”
The merchant whistled, acting like he was so busy with work again, making the one who was mocked grit her teeth. At the same time, Wisana let out a sigh.
He could not believe these two. Standing so far from each other, but still managed to be bickering like this.
He thought before he started digging again.
PING!
“Player Wisana has earned 2 pieces of level 3 earth gemstones.”
And again.
PING!
“Player Wisana has earned 3 pieces of topaz.”
Then he moved to another spot.
PING!
“Player Wisana has earned 6 pieces of level 3 earth gemstones.”
And to the next one while the other two were staring at the black-haired man having a good time digging up the items. Then they just wanted to throw their shovels away somehow.
PING!
“Player Wisana has earned 1 piece of equipment upgrade crystal, Mithril.”
----------------
Starting from a tiny hole, the area was now full of a hundred of the same deep holes dug by Wisana. At first, he only rolled up his sleeves to be comfortable when he dug, now the shirt was gone, leaving only a tank top. Who knew if he wanted to be more comfortable or to have more fun? A hand that was free from holding the shovel wiped off the sweat on his face with his black shirt hanging on his shoulder.
“Damn, I’ve dug this many holes, and none of them had the level 4 earth gemstones.”
He complained as he sat on the ground, exhausted.
Then his two helpers walked up to him with a little amazement on their faces. Maysa looked down at a level 2 earth gemstone in her hand before she turned in the same direction as Manoch who was standing near her.
He pushed his glasses in place just in case his eyesight was wrong about the pile of items he was seeing in front of him right now.
“What’s up?” Wisana asked when he saw the two went quiet for a long time.
“Well, bro, I really don’t wanna say this, but,” Manoch spoke mumblingly.
“What?”
“Well, your fortune is too much. It’s kind of scary, to be honest.”
Hearing that, the lucky one raised his eyebrows.
“What do you mean?”
“I mean that you could find all these many items in just one hour. I think that maybe you should quit fighting classes and be playing gambler class.”
Then Manoch pointed at the pile of items that Wisana was about to shove down into his inventory window. Those items included 40 pieces of level 2 earth gemstones, 38 pieces of level 3 earth gemstones, 17 pieces of topazes, and 4 pieces of the rare Mithril, whose price in the market right now was two hundred thousand each.
He followed their eyes, then he shrugged as he replied.
“Why? Isn’t it normal? I just dug in, and I found them. It wasn’t that hard.”
“It wasn’t that hard!?” Manoch shouted. “Are you crazy?! Someone can be digging all day and they can only get a level 2 gem, bro!”
Hearing that, someone who was digging all night and got only a level 2 gem, hid it behind her. Yes, it was her. She was someone!
“Well, maybe I just got a bit lucky tonight.”
“A bit lucky? I just got a couple of earth gems, and you called that mountain of gems that you spent only an hour digging a bit of luck?!”
The one who just witnessed the power of this lucky mascot gasped.
But Maysa just shrugged, seeming like she was already used to this.
She knew well that the mascot did not only bring good luck but also a disaster as well. Of course, she did not say that out loud, because she did not want to jinx it.
“Anyway, did you find level 4? I’ve been looking but didn’t find any.”
Wisana tried to change the subject.
“Me neither,” Manoch replied tiredly. “Even you couldn’t find one, how would I? Also, I don’t think that we’d find it in ten minutes anyway.”
“How about you, May?”
