Chapter 47: Chaotic Digging Part III
Chapter 47: Chaotic Digging Part III
“How about you, May?”
Maysa did not reply. She just shook her head and smiled so sweetly without any words.
It was the answer enough for the boys. They looked at each other then sighed like they should not have asked that.
“Seems like it’s harder than I thought,” Wisana said, deadpan.
“Maybe so, since level 4 is the highest level.”
The pair of grey eyes searched around. They had dug up three sides of the Crevier, which was quite a lot already. However, when it was compared to the whole area, the part that had been explored was just ¼ of it.
“I think there has to be only a piece of the level 4 in this Crevier.”
Maysa commented exhaustedly. It would take too much time for them to dig up the whole land.
“That’s true. If it’s this hard to find, there definitely is one piece of the gemstones,” Manoch added. “I can see now why there’s no one in this Crevier because there’re not many of the high-level items.”
Manoch finished then he glanced at Wisana.
Well, except for this guy, of course.
Even though he dug in a sucker Crevier like this, he still got this many items. If he went to a nicer Crevier, would he not just become a millionaire over a night?!
“As I see it, the area is too large. Maybe we won’t be able to find it in time.”
Maysa commented with a serious voice. As she could see, three people were too few to be digging up the whole area. That was why Lala allowed them to help Wisana. So, they thought this quest would be easy, but no, it was totally impossible!
“I guess so.” Manoch agreed. “If we still dig with this speed, we won’t be able to find it in time.”
Hearing them speak, Wisana narrowed his eyes before he tried to cheer them up with a bright smile.
“It’s gonna be okay. We’ll find it, so let’s keep on digging.”
He said before he got up. Because to be honest, he was worried about what the other two said, too.
But the younger man stopped him by holding his hand up. His fair face flashed a cunning smile for a second. Wisana caught eyes with Maysa, feeling confused.
“You don’t have to, bro. I think I have the fastest way to find the level 4 gem.”
“How?” Wisana asked.
“Easy. Well, why didn’t I think of it sooner?”
“Are you sure, A? I really don’t want to trust you.” Maysa looked at him with a doubtful eye.
However, the man just pretended to not hear her and brought out his inventory window. Then he grabbed something out of there. When Wisana looked closely, they were TNT bombs and a lighter.
“Just trust me on this, guys.”
----------------
BOOM!!
The explosion blew off the sand, spreading it all over the area. The three of them were crouching on the ground, their hands covering their ears from the loud noise. Wisana was trying to use his bigger figure to shield Maysa from the falling dust and the ashes.
The result of it came later, making Manoch laugh in his throat, feeling so proud of himself.
“Player Manoch has found 50 items.”
“HAHAHA!! How was that, huh? Just one hit and got all these 50 pieces!” The merchant stood up and burst into a loud laugh. “Hey! Wasn’t the announcement wrong though? I didn’t find them, I blew them up. BRUHAHAHAHA!”
After that, the tall one ran to those piles of glowing items ahead of him, leaving the other two blinking at each other.
“This guy is crazier than I’ve ever thought,” Maysa said, deadpan.
“But it actually works, doesn’t it?” Wisana smiled.
And then they both just shrugged before they grinned widely, walking up to check on the work of the crazy one. Yes, that was right. This guy just gave up the shovel and used the bombs instead.
And it worked out pretty well, even though it looked kind of cheating and a bit too reckless.
Well, there was not a rule that said using bombs was prohibited anyway.
When Manoch got down to the middle of the large hole he was flooded with many items, he brought out his skills window.
Absorb Item
(*A talent skill of the merchant class, used for collecting items into the inventory in multiple pieces at a time. Skill range was 50 meters and could be used only on the player’s items.)
After Manoch commanded, those 50 items were flying rapidly into his inventory. Then the announcement came.
“Player Manoch has earned 23 pieces of level 2 earth gemstones.”
“Player Manoch has earned 22 pieces of level 3 earth gemstones.”
“Player Manoch has earned 5 pieces of topaz.”
As he was listening to a long list of the items he got, instead of being happy, Manoch clicked his tongue with disappointment. He glanced at Wisana.
“There’s still no level 4, bro!”
“Not yet? Aw man, how can it still be hiding from the bomb?” Wisana cried.
“Don’t worry, bro,” the other smiled broadly. “I still got a hundred of the bombs. Let’s see if it’ll still be able to hide from my armory!”
As he finished, he lit up another bomb, making Wisana flinch before he pressed the little one next to him down on the ground again.
“KYAA!”
“Wait, hold on. we’re not ready!”
BOOM!!!
The satisfied laughter was drowned out by another loud explosion. Many items appeared on the sand again before Manoch absorbed them in his inventory.
And of course, all these many gems he got, there was still not the level 4 one that they were looking for.
“I didn’t get it, yet bro. Let me try again!”
Actually, he was not asking for anyone’s permission. He was not going to listen to any criticism or opinions from them anyway. So, Wisana decided to just curl up on the ground and stay still to be safe from it. Because it looked like Manoch was willing to blow off the whole area if that helped him find a level 4 earth gemstone.
BOOM!!!
“KYAA!! This guy has gone mad!” Maysa screeched aloud.
“Ugh! Whose quest is this again?” Wisana whined.
BOOM!!!
“Can you go tell him to stop? At least let me get out of here first!”
“Go tell him yourself, May!”
BOOM!!!
“Ew! Thud! The sand got in my mouth now.” The little one started to shed some tears.
“Damn, that guy’s trying to bomb us, too?”
They were shouting back and forth continuously during the scene of a war movie going on behind them. Wisana tried to keep Maysa’s head as low as possible. She was so tiny. She would definitely be blown away, if she got the impact once.
“I can’t take it anymore. My eyes are full of sand,” she cried off key.
“Hold on. Here, hide your face in my shirt.”
“Ugh! It’s impossible to find it like this. Damn it, how’s a ridiculous, reckless way going to wo...”
“Found it!!!”
