Chapter 453: A Calling from Dirt Part IV
Chapter 453: A Calling from Dirt Part IV
“What? It’s you.” He said, openly sounding disappointed.
“What? You look disappointed.”
Jeng replied in a completely blunted voice. He was looking at Wisana like he wanted to pick a fight with him. However, the one who was being stared at just waved it away tiredly.
“Am I that obvious?”
Wisana annoyingly pretended to smile at him. Seeing that, Jeng was about to yell but he did not. Because his eyes caught the little girl who was growling in her throat and that reminded him of the trace of a set of teeth that was still on his index finger until now!
“So, what’s the matter, Mister Jeng? Why are you here at such a late hour like this?” Wisana asked. “...You’re not done nagging me?”
“...You’re annoying, puffed chest.”
Jeng whispered to himself, counting one to ten in his mind instead of slipping out some insults at this girl again. The tall man held up what he brought with him for Wisana to see right away.
“Here, the fireworks, you asked Miki to bring you some, didn’t you?”
“Aw, it’s very nice of you to bring them yourself all the way to my room like this.”
The annoying one was not going to stop making a high-pitched voice toward Jeng, who was shaking his head wearily in response. He then handed the big bag of fireworks to Jinnie, and the AI took it with a wry smile.
“I can’t believe you still have the mood to play with fireworks at a time like this,” Jeng spoke. “How can you be so carefree when others are being very anxious?”
Hearing that, Wisana smiled widely. He pushed his glossy black hair to the back softly, before looking the other in the eyes directly for the first time.
“I should act anxious and panicked instead?” Wisana retorted.
“That’d be better than having fun in others’ misery.”
Jeng talked back without looking at the other’s face. And hearing that, Wisana chuckled right away. He let Mona Lisa down from his lap, before standing up.
“These are the words from the one who’s supposed to be the leader?” Wisana asked.
“Huh?” Jeng’s voice stiffened as he turned to stare at him.
“I’ll tell you something, Jeng. I don’t know about the other, but a leader shouldn’t be showing this kind of emotion ever. You’re the one who guides everyone. And how will they feel emotionally supported if they see their leader moping like this? When the followers are weak, it’s when the leader has to be strongest. So, instead of wasting your time blaming everything and everyone, you better figure out a way to solve the problem, right?”
Wisana gave Jeng a soft smile after speaking. The slim figure got up as the moonlight shone in the room, reflecting on his hair. And that made his beautiful fair mysterious-looking face look strangely enchanting.
The smile looked gentle, but it was also powerful.
Who exactly was this woman?
“Oh, another thing, Mister Jeng.”
That was once again when Wisana got the one in front of him back in the present. He revealed his bright smile as he winked at Jeng, making him blush.
“What?” Jeng asked in a high-pitched voice.
“You and I are on the same team right now. So, it will be really nice if you stop nagging me already. Don’t you get tired of it, huh?”
The listener froze. The more he looked at that smiley face, the more he wanted to turn away for no reason.
“Yeah, I know that!” Jeng shouted. “But even though we’re on the same team and Grandpa really likes you, I still don’t trust you, okay? Just don’t get in my way.”
Hearing that, Wisana started giggling right away.
“Yeah, understood, Sir. I’ll handle everything before I ever get in your way.”
Then he continued laughing amusedly, while he walked to check out those fireworks in the bag with Jinnie. Meanwhile, Jeng acted like he did not care as he secretly glanced at the gorgeous face of this black-haired girl consideringly.
“GRRRR!!”
But it seemed like someone noticed the shady look in Jeng’s eyes, so the little villain was ready to jump at him with a set of sharp teeth that she was baring to imply, ‘Don’t mess with my mother.’ before him.
Seeing that, the tall man cracked into a laugh, shaking his head.
“Hey, you.”
Suddenly, Jeng spoke up, making everyone look up at him.
“Who are you calling?” Wisana asked.
“It’s you.”
“Is there anyone named You in this room?”
Wisana said, before acting to look around at everyone annoyingly. And Jeng made a snorting sound out of his throat, before smiling widely.
“I meant you, puffed chest!”
The listener paused, staring at the bad-mouthed one right away.
“I have a feeling that you’re being too obsessed with my boobs, Jeng.”
“Well, I just nicknamed you with whatever stands out the most on you.” The bad-mouthed smiled widely.
“It’d be very nice if you could call me by my name.”
Wisana sighed after speaking, before handing the bag to Mona Lisa to check it out. And of course, Wisana did that to distract the girl from jumping on Jeng and biting him, because it seemed like his daughter really hated the man to her guts.
“What’s now? Don’t you know that it’s inappropriate for you to be in girls’ rooms for too long? Plus, I’m also a guest in the hotel, you know.” Wisana said annoyingly.
“About today.”
“Yeah...?”
Wisana raised his eyebrows. The man in front of him looked different from usual now, because he suddenly acted so humble and polite just like that.
“What is it?” Wisana repeated.
“Well ...I,”
Jeng looked like he was about to say something, but he could not. He saw Wisana’s face, and he felt like all the words were stuck on his tongue. And then those sharp eyes just looked away unintentionally.
“If you have something to say, then say it. What are you waiting for?” Wisana rushed.
“...Er, ...I’m,”
And then Jeng froze again. And that was the first time he realized that saying something in front of a girl’s face was a very difficult thing to do, damn it!
“You’re what...?”
“Well, ...I’m,”
BOOM!!!
But the broom head did not get to say what he wanted to say, because of a loud explosion sound that made everyone in the room jump. Those pretty amber eyes of Wisana looked outside the room as his mouth gasped.
What appeared in his sight was a large flame about the same height as a 3-floor building was catching at the outside of Vanilia’s downtown. Its heat was even spreading out to everyone in this hotel’s room!
“That is...” Jinnie whispered.
“The spell I cast.” Wisana squinted. “If it’s triggered to explode up like this, it means,”
He paused there, glancing at his AI after that.
“They’re here!”
That was followed by a shout from a villager. Jeng’s eyes widened. He clenched his jaws as he ran away from the room, leaving Wisana to catch eyes with Jinnie and Mona Lisa.
“Seems like they’re here earlier than we expected,” Wisana said.
“Yes, master.”
“Then we should go, too!”
