Chapter 454: A Calling from Dirt Part V
Chapter 454: A Calling from Dirt Part V
“Then we should go, too!”
And it seemed like the smallest one was excited the most. She swung her arm around like she was so ready to hit everyone now. Seeing that, the older ones started giggling right away.
After that, those beautiful amber eyes looked out of the window. Wisana was staring right at the blazing flame from the ground. And then, a delighted smile came across his pretty face.
“Well, then, it’s time to go out and play."
----------------
CLANK! CLANK! CLANK!
The sound of a massive bell was heard resoundingly throughout the town. This old-fashioned alert was coming from the center of the village as a huge man hit it to call male villagers to be at their station in the battle while the women were hiding away in the bunker quickly.
“How many of them, Uncle?!”
The rushing shout came as the tall body of Jeng ran to join in with his large axe.
In front of the village, there was a group of full-armed men. One of them was Uncle Berm, the middle-aged man with a thick beard grown around his mouth.
“No idea!” Uncle Berm shouted back in response. “And what the hell was that fireball?”
The tall young man who just joined the group panted. He reached to rub his nose as he was a little exhausted. Then he looked up at the older one and answered the question he heard.
“I’m not sure, but it probably was the puffed chest,” Jeng said.
“The girl did it?”
After that, Uncle Berm turned to the flame that was still blazing up like an enormous fire wall in shock. He had never seen anything like this before. And it probably was the explosion that alerted them that the village was about to be under attack again.
“A danger alert, huh? She really likes making it strong, that girl. That’s why our chief asked her for help. Very skilled.”
Hearing that, Jeng snorted. He squinted at the fire wall that was blazing up less than fifty meters before them, while its heat was blowing against ten men who were standing behind the town’s gate, making them sweat.
“Everyone’s evacuated to the bunker already, right, Uncle?” Jeng asked.
“Yeah, the chief’s there, too. Don’t worry.”
Jeng sighed when he heard that.
He looked at the men who were standing nearby. Then he closed his eyes shut for a moment, before taking a deep breath in his lungs.
“Don’t let them get to the hotel ever!” Jeng shouted resoundingly. “Archers, in your positions. Tankers stay down here with me. Did you set all the traps already?!”
“Yes, sir!”
A man shouted out in a clear loud voice.
“Good then.”
Jeng said, then licked his lips. His eyes were looking at the fire before him.
Shortly after that, there were shadows appearing in the fire. Many of the men swallowed thickly, including Jeng who was squinting at it.
And then, the shadows turned out to be monsters that had every part of their bodies like a human’s, except that they were made of pure sand. They did not make a sound, only creeping toward Vanilia town silently. Some of them were catching on the fire, but they started rolling on the ground to die it out.
“Everyone, get ready! They’re coming to the town!!”
Jeng shouted, making everyone else tighten their grip on their weapons. He did, too, holding his large axe up in front of his chest.
The villagers looked at the sand monsters with stressed faces. Even though the enemies did not have fast speed at all, every step of them still looked frightening because Sand Man was a melee monster and it was known for being very tough, too.
“What? They’re still able to move after getting my firebombs? Anyway, what are you all doing here? Why don’t you finish them off?”
Suddenly, there was a sweet voice ringing up from behind, making every gentleman here jump and turn to the voice.
“Puffed chest?” Jeng said with surprise.
“It’s going to be a waste of time waiting for them to come to the town.”
Followed by a girl in Yukata who made the men around dumbfounded with widened eyes. Her glossy black hair was let down on her back at that moment. And there was no one not stunned by her beauty.
“Girl, we have to hold our ground inside, because we’ve placed our force here, including the traps.”
Uncle Berm was the one who answered. And Wisana chuckled after hearing it.
“The plan’s not going to work. Apart from it’ll be like suicide, it’s too risky to let the enemies come so close to your base. This is like counting down to your death.”
“What did you just say?” Jeng shouted resoundingly, making everyone else flinch. “Then what do you suggest we do? This is how we always fight. An outsider like you doesn’t know anything, so don’t act like you do. If you really have a better plan, then show us.”
Wisana smiled at his words right away. But he had not said something to reply, a little girl rushed through the group of adult men joyfully, while she was chanting happily, saying, ‘Battle, battle, battle.’
Also, the AI was floating behind Mona Lisa closely.
Seeing that, many of the villagers were shocked, holding up their hands in order to stop the little girl from running to the Sand Men, but it was too late for that now. At the same time, the slim woman in Yukata costume stepped her feet out there without saying any more words.
“Wait, where do you think you’re going? Those are the sand monsters!!”
Jeng shouted with a panicked face. And Wisana turned back to give the broom-head a sweet smile right away.
"I’m going to work, of course, since I already got paid for that. You guys just wait here.”
After his words ended, Wisana swirled his hands a couple of times like he was stretching while he was walking out of Vanilia, following his daughter to the enemies closely. The image of that made every man there, especially Uncle Berm, turn to blink confusedly at Jeng.
“Isn’t this girl too impulsive? Those are the sand monsters!” Uncle Berm yelled.
“...What’s that crazy woman trying to do?”
The hot wind and fire wall were still spreading up from the ground. Its brightness solved the visibility problem at nighttime in the blink of an eye. The slim figure was calmly walking toward the fire. Wisana’s amber eyes were watching as the enemies walked out of the fire, counting them one by one.
“Jinnie,” He spoke up finally.
“Yes, Master?”
The voice responded from his communication window. Wisana looked at his personal AI who had turned into a babysitter to watch over Mona Lisa running around happily in the other direction.
“Do research on the enemies as detailed as you can, check everything that might be useful.”
“Yes, Master.” The AI replied in a delighted voice.
“Also, please watch over Mo. Don’t let her be too wild.”
“Noted.”
Shortly after that, a Sand Man approached him with a completely different speed. Normally, these sand monsters did not move that fast. That was not because they were slow, but because they were saving their energy for when they found a target to attack only!
However...
This speed for Wisana,
It was not different from a slow-motion image at all!
