Chapter 449: The Favor Part V
Chapter 449: The Favor Part V
And this was what Wisana liked the most!
“I got it, Grandpa.”
He yelled aloud, making the old man jump before he looked at him.
“What did you get about, Miss?”
“I’m going to help you deal with the monsters that come attack your town.”
Wisana said, smacking his own chest softly. Meanwhile, Grandpa Khao could only widen his eyes in surprise. Jinnie huffed out a long sigh, he really did it again.
“Are you sure?” Grandpa Khao asked in a surprised voice.
It was true that he wanted this girl’s help to save the town.
Because she was very skilled and looked like a nice person. But he never thought that she would be the one who volunteered to save this town without him asking her to.
“Yes, I am. Because from what I saw, the villagers surely won’t be able to fight against such strong monsters alone.”
Wisana said, curling up a soft wry smile.
“But even if you volunteer to help, I don’t have anything to reward you, you know.”
“No, I don’t need anything in return,” Wisana said in a delighted voice. “Except for this hotel’s services. Also, I’m on my EXP farming trip anyway. Let’s just say that we both benefit from this, right Grandpa?”
Listening to that, the old man looked at the face that was grinning so delightedly in front of him. He knew this girl was a good person, but he never expected she could be this kind. Maybe that was because people who did something for others without expecting benefits or rewards were very rare to find these days.
“So, you’re really going to help us?” The old man repeated.
“That’s right.” Wisana smiled at him. “Just don’t mind me, Grandpa. I’m the type that likes to get involved in troubles anyway. All my friends are fed up with that already. Plus, how could I let this beautiful hotel get destroyed so easily?”
“...Miss Vissara.”
“And if you really want to reward me, you can just pay for my hotel’s fee throughout my stay.”
Wisana said and grinned brightly at the old man in front of him. And that made the listener let out a long sigh once again.
“You’re a very good person.”
The old man said smilingly, while he was holding Wisana’s hand gently.
“Not really. I’m more like a trouble seeker.”
“No, you’re what’s called a good person.” He said and then nodded at Wisana. “A person like you is very hard to find. You remind me of a woman who I met many years ago. She was fearless like you, but she was such a lovely girl.”
Hearing that, Wisana let out a dry laugh.
“Do you have a boyfriend? If not, would you like to try getting to know Jeng? If he gets someone like you to take care of, I’ll finally be relieved.”
PRUDD!
These words made the one who was asked to be a granddaughter-in-law choke on his own saliva. Wisana looked at the old man in front of him with his widened eyes and mouth gasping.
“Jeng might be bad-mouthed sometimes, but he’s a good man, Miss.”
“N ...no, thank you.” Wisana hurriedly waved his hand in rejection.
“Why? You don’t like Jeng?” The old man asked.
“No, not like that, Grandpa. It’s just that I already have someone.”
And he was not even a girl!!
After getting the rejection, the old clearly looked disappointed. Meanwhile, Wisana started dripping sweat. He was scratching his cheek. He never expected that his woman self would be so charming that a grandpa flirted for his grandson like this!
“Anyway, Grandpa.”
While their conversation was going off-topic, Jinnie was the one who brought it back on track again. The old man turned to look at her and saw her opening many information windows to research something. After that, she flipped one of the screens over for the old man to see.
“Are these the sand monsters you mentioned?”
Jinnie asked, pushing the window toward Wisana and the old man.
----------------

Looking briefly at the ability stats, the monster was quite strong. It was followed by the monster’s image which looked like a human covered in smooth sand.
“Don’t they look like this, Grandpa?” Wisana asked excitedly.
“Um, yeah, this is the one attacking my village.”
After hearing the answer, Wisana turned to catch eye with Jinnie. He nodded at her to imply that she did a good job, before looking at Grandpa Khao who seemed to be frightened by the image of the monster a lot.
“Don’t worry, Grandpa,” Wisana said cheerfully like he was cheering up the courage in the old man. “If we have the monster’s information like this, then it won’t be that difficult anymore. Just let me take care of this, okay?”
“...”
The old man was speechless. He just looked up and nodded at the girl quietly.
“But it’s strange, Master,” Jinnie spoke.
“What’s strange?” Wisana asked.
“Well, Sand men are monsters that respawn near the desert. So, how can they appear here in the west? And there’s not just one Sand man attacking the village, right, Grandpa?”
Hearing Jinnie’s question, the old man nodded in reply.
“That’s right. There’re always 30 of them invading the town. No matter how many we killed, they will come back with the same number.”
“Come back with the same number, huh?”
Wisana repeated with a curious face. He glanced at Jinnie as he thought.
Until now they still had not figured out the reason why the monsters attacked this town at all.
“Grandpa, is it possible for someone to take some high-ranking item that had the guardians to this town?”
Wisana asked with the only presumption he could think of.
“No, it’s impossible for that case. There’re only low-ranking players here. Just fighting with the sand monsters has us struggling enough, let alone fighting something stronger than this.”
“Is that so?”
Wisana said with a curious face. If no one stole some items from those monsters, then why did the Sand men keep attacking this town? And why always the same number of them?
No matter how many of them were killed, they always returned with the same number.
The situation here was very strange. If they respawned somewhere near the desert, they should not be travelling here and with the same number of them all the time. Plus, if they really walked from their local to here, other players would have killed some of them all the way, too.
CREAK!
Suddenly, the door slid open again, before Wisana could think about this more thoroughly. Miki, the girl in a Kimono, was in the doorway with a bright smile.
“What’s the matter, Miki?” The old man asked.
“Well, I’m here to say that Miss Vissara’s room is ready now. Please enjoy your stay. And about your meal. Our chef’s preparing it right now, so please wait a while.”
“Thank you.”
Wisana responded, nodding at her. At the same time, he glanced at the old man’s face, and he gave him a wide smile right away.
“Well then, please take some rest first, Miss. You might be exhausted from traveling now. Please enjoy your stay. Our hotel’s always glad to welcome a cute guest like you.”
“Thank you, Grandpa.”
The old man shook his head slightly, before smiling at Wisana.
“No, thank you. You’re the one who volunteers to help our town, even though we have nothing to offer you like this.”
Wisana shook his head, too. He smacked his chest fearlessly again. A pretty smile appeared on her youthful face.
“I’m happy to do it, Grandpa.” Wisana winked. “...Also, this is what kind of awesome vacation I’ve been looking for.”
