Chapter 439: Snow Queen Part VI
Chapter 439: Snow Queen Part VI
“She’s changing all the cards?!” A man shouted.
“What is she thinking? Did the cards in her hand suck that much?!”
“How can she be so bold?!”
A second after that, the robot gave Shin another set of five cards. His lavender-colored eyes looked at the new cards calmly. There was not a hint of nervousness in them at all, not even a smile on his face, nor a changing heartbeat.
This was the ability of the ‘Calm Effect’ Signetic, the ability to make the body keep functioning steadily regardless of situations.
Or it could be called that it was the confidence to get the victory that created the calm and relaxed mind, too.
“Change 5 cards, huh?” Snow said in a delighted voice. “You’re just too desperate, aren’t you?”
“Am I though?” Shin retorted as an icy cold-looking smile appeared on his face.
And this was the most important time of a poker game, mind war strategy. If this was a normal game, there would have been raising bets to threaten the other to fold their cards already. But the bet in this game could not be raised or changed.
So, they had to show their cards to find the winner now!
“You might want to change your mind, Shin. If you fold it now, I’ll go easy on you and have you play another round, baby. I, Snow, always give pretty girls a second chance, you know.”
Shin chuckled and shook his head when he heard that.
“I don’t give up, and you know that.”
Snow smiled widely at his words. She always felt that this guy was awfully hard to mess with! And damn, a poker game was actually favorable to him!
“Well then, shall we?”
“Yeah.” Shin nodded in agreement.
After that, Snow waved her hand out harshly, making her cards turn to show their faces to everyone with a large size of their ranks and suits appearing in the background, getting the sensation out of the crowd.
“A straight flush!”
Everyone shouted out.
Snow’s cards were diamond suits placed orderly from 3-7 beautifully.
“She got this from changing four cards in her hands?!”
“What kind of a fortune god is processing in her? How can she be this lucky?!”
“Straight flush is the second rank in high card value, so the girl who changed all her cards will never have a chance now!”
Everyone chatted excitedly. While Manoch was reaching up to rub his temple hopelessly at the situation. If it turned out like this, Shin would definitely lose. He was desperate enough already to change all his cards like that. So, no matter how he thought about it, there was no way he would win.
“Sorry, Shin. I got a straight flush. Nothing personal, it’s just that I was born under the star of gambler god.”
The mocking was sent out delightedly. Without even seeing Shin’s cards, she was so sure that she had already won. However, her cards did not make Shin’s calm expression change at all.
He was slightly smiling, too, actually.
“No, I am so sorry for you, Snow. Sorry for being luckier than you.”
After his words, Snow let out a sound like ‘huh?’ in response. At the same time, Shin waved his hand to reveal his cards. His black hair was moving beautifully on his back as his cards’ value popped up.
There were red hearts on every one of them, including Jack, Queen, King, Ace, and Ten.
“Royal straight flush?!!”
The crowd shouted in shock, especially Manoch whose jaw dropped more than anyone else’s. After that, silence fell among them until the cheering burst out again finally.
“Unbelievable, this is the first time I actually saw someone getting it.”
“This pretty girl is so cool. How can she be confident in her win until the end like that? I’m falling for her now.”
“KYAAA!! Miss black-haired beautiful.”
The cheering got louder with clapping. The poker table then disappeared in the blink of an eye, while two pairs of eyes were still staring at each other as if they were trying to read the other’s mind.
Snow wanted to smile, but she could not. She had never seen someone so wild before. And it was the wildness that looked so cold and calm, so intimidating. How could this guy be so sure that his new cards would turn out to be a royal straight flush like that?
“Seems like you beat me again, Shin,” Snow said, finally smiling as she walked to him.
“That was just a fluke.”
Shin replied briefly, sighing in relief. However, Snow did not think so, because she had played a roulette game with this man before, and the bet was to build a weapon for him. And she lost, even though she was so confident that she would win against this guy. That was why she had to make the Four Seasons for him.
And today, she wanted a rematch, so she challenged him with a game she was best at.
But still, she lost.
“This’s why I said I never wished to see you again, Shin,” Snow said. “You’re the biggest blocker to my star of fortune. And not only a blocker, but you also suck my luck away, too!”
Hearing that, Shin curled the corner of his mouth up into a smirk. He purposely leaned in to whisper something to Snow, and what she heard made her eyes widen right away.
“Did you know that my first hand was a straight flush, but I decided to throw it away because I was sure that it wasn’t enough to beat yours.”
Snow was speechless. She pulled herself away and stared at the pretty girl before her, who was smirking, looking slightly strangely sexy and mysterious. Those lavender eyes intentionally winked at her, making her shake her head because of this guy’s unlimited wildness.
He got a straight flush but still was not satisfied...
There would be only this cracked head like this man who would throw the entire hands for the best ones.
“You’re absolutely wild, Shin.” Snow smiled widely.
“If that is a compliment, I’ll take it.”

“What the actual hell?!!!!”
Back to Alexander again at 9 p.m., in Pride’s time, a scream was heard from the bedroom of their supreme leader which had a sign on the door saying, ‘Vincent.’ It was a girl’s voice that probably made everyone on the ship jump at the same time.
The slender girl was standing in front of a moderate-sized desk in the bedroom, shaking with anger. Her small hand was clinging to a piece of white paper with some message written on it.
Her light grey eyes read through it again like she was wishing this entire message would turn out to be just some kind of joke!
“Captain, what’s happening?!!”
Warunya was the one who ran into Vincent’s bedroom to see Maysa dressed up in Nemesis’s uniform, reading something in her hand. The face of the captain was all red as she was pissed off, too!
“Orn, look at this!” Maysa yelled, handing the piece of paper to her. "Look at what that guy did. He’s caused trouble again, even when we shouldn’t do anything risky!”
“What did he do? Is that a letter?”
Warunya took the paper from Maysa’s hand right away.
Those dark shiny eyes skimmed through the letter concentratedly.
...
Dear Maysa,
I’ll be out to take a walk with little Mo a bit. But don’t worry, I’ll be back in 5 days. No making trouble, I promise you. So, no need to cause trouble by trying to find me. Oh, and I’ll have my channels offline, too, so don’t waste your time tracking me.
PS don’t be mad at me. Baby.
PS2, I’ll bring you some souvenirs.
PS3, really, please don’t be mad at me, May boo.
Wisana.
...
After reading the note, Warunya cracked out a laugh amusedly, making those light grey eyes glare right at her. So, she hurriedly covered her laugh up with a sound of clearing her throat smoothly.
“He’s probably bored, Captain. Don’t be mad at him. You know that he’s very stubborn.”
“Yes, very stubborn!!” Maysa shouted. “Damn it, I know now he’s been so easy and obedient these days. That guy was waiting for the chance to sneak out! Ugh! Why is he so expert in finding troubles like this?!”
“Come on,” Warunya said smilingly. “He’s good, so there shouldn’t be any problems. Also, Jinnie is with him, too, isn’t he? It’s going to be okay, just let him play outside a bit,”
“Gosh!”
The captain cursed frustratedly. She walked and sat down on Wisana’s bed.
At the same time, she stared at the note in Warunya’s hand, those light grey eyes burning with rage.
“That is very childish of him. I’m going to scold him to death when he’s back. Just you wait!!”
