Chapter 433: City of the Night “Lutier” Part VI
Chapter 433: City of the Night “Lutier” Part VI
“Oi, hurry your lazy asses up. Try being like the field unit a bit. They were out there working hard like worker ants, and how can you still sit around and slack off like a lazy dog, huh?”
Mek, chief of the red items production unit, was yelling and bawling in front of Alexander ship. He was scolding his lazy technician team members who were carrying items and dead monsters too slowly.
“Hey! Insulting doesn’t make you guys speed it up right. Should I try telling Chief Manoch to cut down your salary?”
Right after the word salary was spoken. The slow, laziness was completely gone. These technicians hurriedly carried items on the ship quickly. Some crane operators started lifting large monsters so hurriedly that they almost tripped the cranes now.
Seeing that, Mek smiled widely, before writing something in a notebook in his hand.
“HRRR, I’m back, Mek. What food did the cooks make for us today? I’m starving, I could eat a whole buffalo now.”
Suddenly, there was a slow voice ringing up with a tall man walking exhaustedly toward him. Mek looked up in the voice’s direction and then a big smile was on his face.
“Hey, Tun.” He greeted. “Seems like you just ran into a big one, so you looked like a puppy fell in the gutter drain like that.”
He said, looking at Tunwa, who just stopped before him, from head to toe. His brown hair was quite messed up, but his body was dirty like he just rolled himself in some mud. Some parts of his clothes were torn apart, but luckily, his guild uniform was not damaged.
“Damn right I did. And I had to be the tanker against the enemy, too. It was fun though, putting my mood on it to make my head clear.”
Tunwa said with a smile, then he glanced at the huge warship that landed at the back. With a quick glance, it was almost transparent and invisible like it was not there. But with a good look at it, there was some image distorting, showing that Alexander had its ‘Mirage Choroid’ mode activated right now.
“Did I miss anything when I was gone?” Tunwa asked.
“Nothing except for the silence like a graveyard around here. Well, it’s not surprising since there’re few monsters passing by, and there’s no farming spot, either.”
“That’s Maysa. She really picked the best parking spot.”
Hearing the compliment from Tunwa, Mek curled up a slight smile. Then he brought his notebook up again to continue with his job.
“By the way, chief Tunwa, did you bring anything interesting back with you this time?”
“Oh, I sure did,”
The owner of green eyes replied briefly, before pulling something out of his shirt pocket. He tossed it to Mek who caught it right away.
“Oh-ho!” The chief of the item producing unit shouted aloud. “This is a level 4 scroll. What skill is it?”
“It’s probably a Slam Body. You should take it. See if it’s useful.”
“Yeah, yeah...” Mek responded with a smile. “A scroll like this can be sold for about 4-5 million. If it’s Slam Body skill, it should be easy to sell, too. But I have to check first if it’s useful for our guild. If not, I’ll sell it and put the money in our common fund. Is that good?”
“Yeah, you deal with it,” Tunwa replied briefly. Then he turned to grab Mek’s water bottle left on some box around there to drink thirstily.
“What did you kill to get this scroll though? This kind of thing is only dropped from a boss, doesn’t it?”
“Yeah, it’s the boss I killed.”
Tunwa answered, huffing a breath out before he pointed his thumb over his shoulder. Mek’s eyes had to follow the direction to see a large group of players pulling a large monster’s body toward their direction. And that made Mek drop his jaw instantly.
“A Slam King?!” He shouted.
“Yup, a level 70 Slam King boss it is,” Tunwa said wearily.
“Hey, did anyone die out there? Because the captain will totally insult you if they did, Tun.”
“No one did. Only me who was nearly killed!” The chief of the unit shouted resoundingly. “We were peacefully exploring the area, and then it just popped out of nowhere, making my unit all freaked out. It took us quite a while to kill it. That’s why we were back late as you can see.”
Listening to that, Mek burst into laughter. His eyes glanced at the monster’s body which looked round like jelly. Its eyes were white as they bulged out, showing that it was totally dead. Its skin was transparent blue. It had this large crown on its head as well. And this Slam King was approximately 5 meters tall.
“Hey, can you guys get a courier over here?! A huge thing has arrived. You can all go tell Miss Stella now that we’ve got the best potion ingredient.”
Mek turned to yell the order at his team right away.
“You and your unit should go get some rest. I can take it from here.” Mek told his friend.
“Yeah, right, thank you. I’m going to take a shower now. The sweat got me all sticky.”
After speaking, Tunwa tossed the water bottle back at Mek right away. Then he took his uniform off, before stretching his neck as he walked. But he had not gone far when a woman walked toward him. And because he did not get a chance to look, the woman bumped into him, knocking them both off balance.
“I’m sorry, chief Tunwa. I didn’t look.”
“...It’s okay.”
Tunwa looked at the woman as his jaw dropped slightly. She was a slender girl who was about 175 centimeters tall, which was very tall for Asian girl standards. Her glossy hair was tied in a ponytail, looking cute. Those amber eyes of hers were looking into his.
“Uh, then, if you don’t mind, I’m getting back to work now.”
The woman said in a sweet voice, bowing her head a little. And then she ran out of his sight.
Tunwa could only see her running away right before his eyes. And in the meantime, Mek, who was watching the whole time, whistled as he walked to him.
“Who’s that? She’s so pretty.” Mek said aloud. “We have a pretty girl like that in our guild, too? She’s wearing a grey uniform, probably a common member then. Does she belong to Miss Stella’s unit or something?”
Tunwa did not say anything in response. He just watched that person disappear out of sight.
He squinted at her, then a slight smile started to appear on his face.
“What the heck, Tun? Don’t tell me that she’s your type.”
Mek said smilingly. He proceeded to nudge his elbow on his chest softly. That was when Tunwa realized that he was being teased, so he shook his head with an amused smile.
“No, that’s totally not my type. God would strike a thunderbolt straight on my head if it was.” Tunwa replied jokingly.
“Huh?” And Mek could only raise eyebrows in confusion.
“That jerk is doing something without thinking it through again.” He shook his head. “Anyway, staying on the ship for days probably makes his skin all itchy. Huh. But well, it should be fine letting that guy out for a little while.”
“What the heck are you talking about, Tun?”
Mek still did not understand what Tunwa was saying anyway. The owner of those emerald, green eyes did not answer. He just laughed amusedly, before placing a hand on Mek’s shoulder gently.
“Nothing. Just rambling.”
Then, Tunwa walked away right away while he was still giggling to himself, leaving Mek confused behind him. He had no idea that Tunwa was shaking his head wearily right now.
“I’m just going to pretend I didn’t see that. So, you better be back with some gift for me, Na.”
