Chapter 424: Damaged Weapon Part IV
Chapter 424: Damaged Weapon Part IV
“Well, it can’t be helped that we have to be sneaky on our way there.”
Wisana said, taking his hand off the canvas to dip his brush on the primary colors window that looked like a Print program opening near him.
“Right.” Maysa sighed. “Well, at least this route to the north is mostly forest and mountains, so we can camouflage. Also, we can be relieved a bit by the new war rules Thada just applied.”
“What rules?” Wisana asked, holding up the brush with green dip.
“It’s the rule where guilds that don’t own any crystal can still participate in the war. Those can’t challenge us in a crystal battle if they don’t have enough points though. But these rules have made the four gods’ forces smaller in number of players. It can’t be helped that small guilds and forces want their time to shine on their own, too.”
Hearing that, a delightful smile crossed Wisana’s face.
“Well, I got to say that we’re so lucky that we took the players William left out in our guild in time. Plus, they can be eyes and ears to send information back to us as well.”
“That’s right.”
Maysa smiled at his words. It was true as Wisana said. The players, who they took in the guild when they were to go declare their independence, were assigned to split up and travel everywhere around Pride to be eyes and ears for the guild. Moreover, they would go around fighting other guilds under the challenge rule as Nemesis 2, or a branch of theirs that was not related to the main Nemesis according to the game’s rules. Briefly, Maysa formed another guild to take advantage of the flaws of the rules.
“By the way, the computer’s calculation said how many days left before we arrive in Dores again?”
Wisana asked, before stroking his brush on the canvas.
“Approximately 10 days, if we keep on travelling at this speed. But if we go without stopping, we’ll be there in 3 days.”
Hearing that, Wisana let out a long sigh.
“No, that’s too risky. Night monsters are too dangerous.” Wisana said. “We shouldn’t counter anyone now, not even some small monsters. Not until we rescue Nuch out of there, and then we’ll talk about what to do next.”
Maysa smiled at his words. She did not say anything more, but her eyes on her boyfriend looked very fond of him. She did not know why but recently, Wisana seemed to be remarkably more prudent and calmer. Maybe it was because of the leader title that turned him out like this.
“Lucky that we have you with us.” She said, smiling.
“Huh?” The listener glanced at her, letting out a curious voice. “What’d you say?”
“No, it’s nothing. Keep working.”
Wisana laughed at her words. Then he turned back and painted a stroke on the canvas once, before sighing and putting the brush back in his inventory.
“Alright, I’m done for today. There’s probably 15% left before it’s finished.”
“What? You’re done? You don’t have to mind me, you know. Just keep working, I’m going to bed soon.”
“Nah, it’s fine. I really want to stop here today.”
Wisana replied smilingly. He pressed the save button, before closing the canvas window down finally. Then he waved at Maysa like he was calling her to sit closer to him.
She could only smile wryly as she grindingly got up to sit next to him.
He wrapped his arm around her shoulders right away, those amber eyes were looking out of the large glass window in the living room to see a waterfall steaming down steadily among glittering fireflies in the wood around their land spot.
After that, the man pushed out a long sigh.
“Mom’s birthday the other day was fun,” Maysa spoke up in a slow voice.
“Hm?” The man drawled with an amused smile. “Yeah, it was, if there weren’t some dumbasses boring the party by their fight.”
Wisana glanced at Tunwa who was busy playing Othello with a scowling face that looked like he wanted to bite his game window off.
“I was so surprised. I never thought that there would be that many guests attending her party,”
“Yeah, mom has a lot of friends both inside and outside the country. She just knows everybody. It’s because her previous job made her travel a lot, I think.”
“But the guests seemed to all respect your mom. I was extremely impressed seeing that.”
“Mom is very imposing when she’s in her serious mode, you know, even though she likes acting soft all the time.”
Hearing that, the girl cracked into a laugh. She could not help but feel impressed when she recalled the birthday party the other day. But she had to admit that it was a very exhausting day because Miss Wimon kept dragging her around the event to introduce her to everyone as the new lady boss of Waleerak farm.
She could bear it at first, but when she walked into a group of rich people who had daughters her age, Maysa instantly wanted to escape from there, since they would not stop giving her mean looks. Maybe that was because those aunties were trying to set Wisana up with their girls. But then there she was, taking their perfect son-in-law. That was the reason the auntie’s gang kept on nagging her.
“Dah is leaving for Bangkok tomorrow now, Nuch and Tun are, too. What about you, May, are you leaving with them?”
Wisana asked because their university break would end in a few days.
Hearing the question, Maysa smiled delightedly, reaching up to touch her boyfriend’s hand on her shoulder.
“No, I’m not,” she said smilingly. “I want to stay at Waleerak for a little while. There’re lots of things I want to talk about with mom.”
“Well then, let’s get back later with Nam and me.”
“Okay.”
Wisana smiled at her reply, before stroking her hair softly a few times. And that was when the door swung open again before a tall figure of that short-haired man with lavender color eyes walked inside with an emotionless face.
“Shin, you’re still up?” Wisana asked instantly.
The newcomer huffed out a sigh as Wisana noticed that those bandages were removed from Shin’s arms now. He curled up a wide grin.
“Oh, your arms are recovered. At first, I actually thought that Sven’s curse couldn’t be dispelled.”
Shin did not say anything to reply to that. He just walked up to Wisana, who was holding his girlfriend on the sofa.
“There’s no problem with my arms,” Shin said in a deep voice. “The real problem is this.”
He said and opened his palm to Wisana’s face right away. Two dull-colored rings were on there. Wisana squinted as he leaned forward to see them closer.
“What the heck?”
“It’s the biggest problem. Why’d you have to ask.”
----------------
“What? Your Four Seasons are damaged and now unfunctional?!”
Every Nemesis member on the ship’s bridge shouted out in unison, except for the owner of those lavender-colored eyes. He was standing with a tired face before the captain’s chair, surrounded by his panicked guild mates. In his hand, there were two rings, which were their biggest problem right now.
Speaking of the Four Seasons, Shin’s legendary weapon was a significant pair of items that made Shin the number one hunter of the game. And to compare its significance, it was not less than Element and Darkness of Wisana at all.
Under the sunlight of a new day, there was something troublesome going on with the guild. So, Wisana proceeded to call the chief members for an urgent meeting about Shin’s weapon being damaged and suddenly unusable just like that!
“What did this to them?”
