Chapter 418: A.L.I.C.E Part II

“Just wanted to thank you for being troubled working for me. I don’t have anyone else I can trust with this kind of sense except you. If anything, I’ll pay you a bonus later.”

Hearing that, the secretary curled up a grin instantly.

“You don’t have to, sir. Just take me to some place dope and pay anything for me, that would be enough.”

“TCH, now you’re asking something that will get my wife mad, you butthead,” Mawin shouted. “Those dope places are really wild, you know. You’ve got to have the guts to go there. Do you have those in you?”

The secretary held his fist up and put it on his own chest harshly right away.

“I do. There shouldn’t be a problem since I’m single. We can go tonight.”

Mawin laughed at those words of the young man before him. It could be that his playfulness was similar to his son’s which made him get along with this secretary especially well.

“What? You don’t have to go do the work I assigned you to?” Mawin asked.

“What, you don’t know?” The secretary raised his eyebrows. “The Pride will be closed today. I heard that they have to update a new patch to fix the war or something like that.”

“Huh, the server will be closed again? Didn’t they just close it a couple of days ago, too? God damn, our customers are probably cursing at us now.”

“That’s right. But what must be fixed today is urgent. Thada’s team just reported that the main cause of it is, you don’t have to be surprised, your son. Every time he makes a move, our GMs are put in trouble.”

Mawin burst out laughing at those words, he closed the secret folder in his hands, before sighing out slightly.

“Well, he’s that woman’s son. It’ll be weird if he doesn’t mess things up boisterously.” He laughed in his throat.

“Speaking of this,” The secretary placed his fist on his other palm as he just realized. “Today is your ex-wife’s birthday, isn’t it? Shouldn’t you call her a bit?”

“Me?” Mawin pointed at himself.

“Yeah, well, at least you were once lovers. So, I don’t think just a little happy birthday wish to her will hurt.”

Hearing that, Mawin’s face twitched like he was smelling something unpleasant.

“Why are you making that face, sir?” The secretary asked.

“If you don’t want to see me with this fart-smelling face all day, stop talking about this already.” He shook his head wearily after speaking. “Believe me, that woman will be the first one I call if I want to build up the mood before going out and killing someone. But if I want peace, I better not have a conversation with her. Within three words of talking to her, a national problem followed.”

The younger one only let out a dry laugh. He had heard about how his supervisor and the ex-wife were getting along like oil and water before as well. Then he wondered how a middleman like Mister Wisana dealt with these walking bio-bombs in the past 20 years.

----------------

A-CHOOO!!

The loud sneeze blasted as a hand wiped under the nose. Those amber eyes winked a couple of times as he wondered why he just suddenly sneezed like this.

“Someone’s gossiping about me or something?” Wisana said softly to himself.

“Are you catching a cold?”

A sweet voice followed as her hand handed a napkin to him.

“Hey, haven’t you heard that a crazy person will never catch a cold?”

“That’s a made-up.” The girl with light grey eyes chuckled as she pinched the other’s nose softly once.

The couple of a man and a woman were sitting on a sofa in the living room of Waleerak’s farmhouse. It seemed like both were enjoying the morning time that was not yet interrupted by anyone else. So right now, there were only two mugs of coffee and a piece of strawberry cake on a plate in the woman’s hand.

“You know, eating that kind of thing so early will get you fat, babe.”

Wisana said smilingly. One of his hands was clicking on a button of the remote control, searching for morning news to watch.

“No, I won’t. One of a good photographer’s qualifications is eating a lot without getting fat.”

“That’s a made-up, too right, you silly.”

He knocked his girlfriend softly on the forehead before she giggled and cut a piece of the cake to feed it in his mouth. It was a nice weather morning like any other normal day in Chiang Mai, except this spot felt a bit hotter than anywhere else. Even Auntie Yoii, who just brought the coffee for them earlier had to leave the room immediately with a twitched face.

“For everything happening on the last day before the war break, what’s the GMs’ plan to deal with it next?”

Suddenly, the voice of a reporter spoke up when Wisana changed to Pride station free TV on channel 1. The image that got their attention right away was the attractive face of a man with long caramel hair. He had sharp amber eyes and was dressed in a white shirt, smiling confidently at the camera.

“We’re urgently handling it at the moment. That’s why we need to close the server for a day to fix a few patches to be more balanced as soon as possible.”

the long-haired man who kept it in a ponytail replied with a polite voice. There were microphones from different stations pointing to those good-looking lips. Moreover, Maysa noticed that there were some from foreign countries like CNN and BBC among them, too!

“In this case, does it mean that the GMs accept the Nemesis’ declaration? Mister Thada, you don’t see that as breaking rules and messing with the war?”

One of the reports asked, making Thada shrug like he did not mind.

“It’s not about whether we accept it or not. They’re the ones who play in this war. And we are just observers. Mister Vincent stated clearly, didn’t he? That he will not care about those stupid rules anymore, and that what he wants is victory only. He didn’t mess with the war but only announced his intention straightforwardly, which I see as one of the war’s highlights. Plus, there’s no player against this at all, so I suppose he didn’t break any rules.”

After speaking, the number one GM of Asia curled up an attractive smile at the camera.

Listening to the interview, Maysa turned to catch eye with Wisana. And the man just shrugged in response.

“So, what’s the staff plan of doing next?” Another reporter asked.

“We’re proceeding to the second plan. You don’t have to be worried, because how Vincent declared his intention like that and all, was already in our prediction.”

Hearing that, many of the reporters started making a sensation.

“You’re saying that Vencent’s actions did not go beyond what Alice calculated?” a reporter asked with an excited voice.

“Alice?” Maysa and Wisana repeated the name in curiosity.

“That’s right. The movement of the Nemesis last night was surprising, but in Alice’s report, it already says that there’s around a 30% chance that this moment would happen. For this reason, we’ve prepared the fixing patch according to Alice’s prediction. She also says that we should update the patch right away because the war will change its face instantly.”

After Thada’s words, it was once again that every reporter turned to look at each other in panic.

“The war 20 years ago will probably repeat itself, right? It will be like when the first gen of the four gods appeared.”
