Chapter 416: Wings That Fly to the New Legend Part X
Chapter 416: Wings That Fly to the New Legend Part X
“Woah, I really am the best bait.”
He said with a knowing smile, before summoning another fire sword by the Element.
It did not take long for the force that was just divided into three groups to get to their attack and defense positions perfectly. Many of them started shooting beams at Wisana furiously. Some were hitting him with countless missiles. The beams of attacks were filling the sky in such large numbers that they barely left any space to avoid them.
However, that was not a problem for Wisana at all.
He just took a small path to fly away to the very little space the enemies left him easily. Moreover, as he did so, he was slashing his swords at those who were flying too close to him skillfully. Until now, many of the N-1 had been blasted up and fallen to the ground.
“C ...crap!” One of the N-1 pilots yelled.
“Don’t stop shooting! Enclose him, enclose him now!”
“We can’t, sir. The target is too fast. We can’t even aim at him.”
“Don’t be ridiculous. We’ve been training in using these Novas to be this proficient, we should have no trouble taking down just one player.”
The complaints came one after another with dumbfounded looks on their faces. In the blink of an eye, the number of the N-1 was shockingly reduced. Wisana was also playing it smart. He just aimed to attack their vehicles’ main engines. He knew that destroying these N-1 would send the players back down to the ground and they would be unable to do anything about it.
This was a clear message that said,
Even if they had such expensive tools, the Pride’s sky would still belong to him only!
“Papa!!”
PRUF!
Suddenly, the voice of a little child rang as Mona Lisa appeared to be flying along Wisana’s side. Her youthful face had a sweet smile on, looking as if she was trying to imply something.
“You want to fly with me?”
Wisana asked his daughter Mona Lisa. And she gave him a toothy smile as the answer.
“Well then, let’s go have fun, sweetheart.”
“Yup!”
The child replied diligently, before flying off with her father with a happy face. It was clear that she had absorbed how to fly from Wisana already. And without the necessity of having the butterfly effect, this little girl could be flying alongside her father anyway.
The fun was increasing because Wisana did not have to evade the beams shot from the enemies anymore, since little Mona Lisa would fly right in between the attack range and swallow them all.
“You’ll get diarrhea again, Mo,” Wisana spoke amusedly.
“I’m fine.”
The little one shook her head slightly with a bright smile before she whirled around. Maybe that was because this was the first time she got to play with her father.
Seeing that, Wisana curled up an amused smile. The father and daughter kept showing off their brilliantness continuously as the N-1 became smaller and smaller. It was obvious that they were not a match for these two at all. And a moment later, the last N-1 was hovering a few inches away from the two.
Wisana purposedly stopped attacking. He tilted his head to the side, before smiling at that man.
“E ...er,” The pilot lost all his words. He was too scared to even move.
“Go back and tell Sven that I am going to go get my friend back. Brace yourself.”
Wisana said smilingly. He then held one of his swords above his head as his eyes stared at the enemy before him, who was obviously shaking from fear. Seeing that, he cracked into a laugh.
“Come on. You have to be more prepared if you want to be flying in the sky, you know.”
After speaking, he swung his sword at the engine on the back of the vehicle, making the pilot scream, ‘ARG’ as the N-1 dropped back down on the ground below uncontrollably, followed by the sound, ‘BOOM’ that made the father and daughter look at each other smilingly.
“Papa wasn’t so bad at our opening scene, right?” Wisana asked.
“Right!”
After the daughter smiled back in return, the father held his palm up, waiting for a high-five, and Mona Lisa gave him a harsh one as she laughed aloud.
BOOM!!!
A second later, the sound of an explosion came from somewhere far with a large mass of dark cloud floating up high. Wisana put his eyes in that direction and then he thought to himself, “...Shin’s finished his job now, too, huh.”
“Alright, let’s go home then.” He turned back to speak with his child.
“Yeah!” She nodded in agreement.
CRACK!
However, the moment when they were about to fly back to Alexander, his hearing sense blasted harshly again. He felt a stinging pain all over his body as if he was shocked by electricity. His amber eyes looked down like he could sense someone launching up at him at top speed!!
“Get back here, Mo!”
Wisana shouted, tilting his head down to look below him as he held his guard in readiness. And what he was seeing clearly was a boy around the age of 16 with blond hair and indigo-blue eyes coming at him fast.
And importantly, this kid was totally not friendly to him!
“So, you’re that Vincent?! I’m so curious what boss is so interested in you!”
“A kid?”
Wisana raised his eyebrows. He had never seen this kid’s face anywhere before. What he realized right now was that he was going to attack him with incredible speed!!
WHOOSH!!
A second later, his bare fist went past Wisana’s face by just inches. Their eyes caught from a length away. And without speaking or communicating, they both just realized that the other had the Signetic, too. Wisana cancelled his swords in his hands, knowing that they were not suitable for a fight in range.
And he knew that the enemy was a bare-handed class player, just like him!
“So fast!! But I’ll hit you this time.”
The blond-haired kid shouted. He threw another punch at Wisana. But this attack barely was Wisana’s problem. He just tilted his head away to the side slightly to dodge it, before placing his hand on the kid’s face softly.
“Calm down, kid. Leaping like this when you can’t fly is like a suicide, you know?”
“Eh?”
The Akkee kid made a confused sound out of his throat. Speaking of it, he totally forgot about that. He saw this Vincent guy moving swiftly in the sky, and suddenly his personal impulsiveness kicked in. So, he launched up to attack, without even considering who would win the fight in the air between the one who could fly and the other who could not.
Fist Destruction!!
65,892!!
Right after that, the younger one was knocked back down harshly. And of course, it did not have to be guessed what would happen to him after falling from that height.
“W, WAAAH!!! He really punched me down from there? Vincent’s so brutal!!”
Akkee screamed out of being pathetic for himself.
However, instead of crashing down and dying on the ground, there was a slender figure of someone leaping out to catch Akkee right before this irritating kid hit the ground just in time.
Wisana froze, maybe the person who came to save the kid was someone who he had had his eyes on since the war started. The familiar-looking slender man with light brown hair and sharp eyes.
The leader of Pandora guild.
Lavi!
“Eh, still not dead? Oh, you came to save me, boss?”
The kid who was being carried up in Lavi’s hands spoke confusedly. And that was all to make Lavi let him down on the ground, making the kid yell in pain.
“Ouch, give me a warning before you throw me, bro. Ow, my butt.”
The grumpy complaints came as he was rubbing on his butt. However, Lavi did not listen to his troublesome player at all. Right now, his eyes were staring at Wisana. Meanwhile, Wisana was staring down at Lavi as well.
A delighted smile crossed the faces of the two men.
‘Should I just pull it out here...?’
‘No, not yet. This is not the time.’
‘There’re many more things I have to do in this war. Maybe I can fight this guy later as a highlight at the final of the event.’
They both were thinking similar thoughts. Finally, Wisana decided to hold his girl close as he blasted his fire wings back to Alexander right away.
There were only Lavi and Akkee left standing on the top of a building. Lavi’s eyes were looking around and it was obvious that Tristan City was a total mess right now. After the Nemesis came, everything was drowned in chaos.
“I’m sorry. Boss. I saw that guy being wild up there, and I couldn’t help it.”
Akkee said, looking guilty. Seeing that, Lavi chuckled.
“It’s okay.” He replied smilingly.
“You’re not mad at me, right? I just wanted to test Vincent’s skills.”
“And what’s the result of your test?” Lavi asked.
“I’m not a match for him at all.”
After speaking wearily, he huffed out a sigh. Lavi laughed at that, before glancing at the Alexander warship that was flying away from Tristan quickly.
“The war’s changing, huh.” He spoke to himself softly. “Looks like it’s true as Valentine said. And it’s changing to a fun way.”
