Chapter 390: Mission to Steal the Crystal (1) Part I
Chapter 390: Mission to Steal the Crystal (1) Part I
A cold breeze and a stinging pain in her head made her lashes flutter open softly. Those pumped lips pressed into a thin line as her hand moved up slowly to rub her painful temple.
“M ...my head hurts.”
The girl who was lying on a soft bed spoke up in a dry voice.
Those rust-colored eyes slowly opened and the first thing they saw was too blurry to recognize anything. She then ground her teeth since it took too long for her eyes to focus.
After she started seeing clearer, she saw a ceiling wooden fan swinging around slowly, causing a nice cool wind against her. Then she looked around the place concentratedly only to make herself confused even more.
“Where am I?” She spoke out.
She realized then that currently she was in a large room with fancy decorations that did not look any different from a five-star hotel. Everything in the room was made of wood, be it those chairs, or the table. She opened the bed curtains to see things clearer as she pushed herself up to sit on the bed with an awful soreness in every part of her body.
And when she looked at herself, she realized that her clothes had been changed. Her Nemesis uniform was missing, and she was wearing a knee-length black dress with red rose petals on the front. There was a gold bracelet around her wrist and a necklace that made her look like a different person in the blink of an eye.
“W ...what is going on here?’
Nuchjaree asked, unable to make head or tail out of it. She was very confused right now. How did she get to such a place? What had happened to her? She could not remember anything.
In the meantime, she got out of bed. She started looking around the room and saw a large door opening wide with curtains waving to the wind. After that, she looked at the light from a candle on the table in the middle of the room and narrowed her eyes.
The light was lit. So, it meant that this was definitely nighttime.
She thought, before walking to the large door carefully. Her slender hand pushed the curtains off, and what she saw was something that made her eyes widen right away.
“My goodness! What am I doing here?”
A wind blew against her face as the ocean of stars was showing up clearly in the sky. In fact, it was a bit too clear actually because she was standing on a floor that was almost as high as the cloud level right now!
The image she was seeing looked like one from around the 30th floor. The houses and buildings down there looked very tiny. Some of the views far outside of the town looked familiar to her, especially those mountains that clearly were covered in snow.
“Dores?” Nuchjaree raised her eyebrows. “How am I in Dores? What is happening here exactly?”
KNOCK! KNOCK!
Suddenly, there was a heavy hand knocking on the door on the other side, making Nuchjaree jump. She quickly turned back with shock as her hand was held up to summon the magic bow out. However, what she got was just emptiness.
She was disarmed!
Not only her weapons.
But she could not even cast a spell right now!
One moment later, the door swung open. She hurriedly squeezed herself close to the balcony border while two men and a woman in a large brown coat walked inside the room.
One of them was Bhira, the owner of orange hair. He widened his eyes.
“What are you doing?! Don’t be stupid. It’s on the 40th floor. If you jump, you totally die instantly!”
He shouted in shock, while the other man who walked in with him had an emotionless face. Nuchjaree remembered that face so well. He was Sven, one of the four gods and the leader of the Cataral.
To see one of the most significant players of Pride in the flesh like this, her brain had figured out right away what kind of situation she was in right now!
“Damn it. Why me again?” She spoke and then she shouted. “Don’t come closer! Or I’ll totally jump!”
Hearing that, both Bhira and Sven paused. There was only the girl in the brown coat, who was standing there quietly, curling up a slight smile out of a little satisfaction.
“Don’t do something stupid, Nuchjaree. Get back inside. We’re not going to harm you.”
Bhira was the one who tried to compromise. The tall man was stepping closer to her slowly. However, Nuchjaree was the type that dared act as she spoke. She smirked, before crossing one leg over the balcony border already. Of course, she did not even care about the split on her dress that revealed her skin to the two men in front of her as she did so at all.
“I’m serious.” She said with a soft smile. “Just so you know, I’m not afraid of heights and I can bear the pain. It’d be just like the bungy jumping I do for fun. The only difference is that I’ll be totally dead when I fall. And when I’m dead, I’ll be able to escape back to my guild right away.”
Nuchjaree was a smart woman. With just a quick glance at the situations around her, she could understand everything thoroughly. She was also resolute. If being alive made her uncomfortable, she would not hesitate to die. Being a prisoner of war was not a good thing at all, both for herself and her friends who were on the other side of the world.
So, losing some of her EXP and the time to respawn would be the best plan she could do right now. Sven looked right into those rust-colored eyes, and he was sure that this woman would definitely jump down there without hesitation. And with this height, she would die instantly, leaving her no time to lie down and wait for anyone to revive her.
He thought, before curling up a satisfied smile.
This woman was corky, but he did not mind this kind of person at all.
“Come back down, Nuchjaree,” Sven spoke in a powerful voice. His rough hand was placed on Bhira’s shoulder to imply that he would deal with this woman by himself and hearing his words that sounded like a command like that, Nuchjaree raised her eyebrows, letting out a throaty laugh.
“Who do you think you are to order me, Mister Sven?” She raised her voice.
“This is not an order.” Sven grinned. “It’s a warning because what you’re going to do is totally useless.”
“Useless?” The dashing girl repeated in a high-pitched tone.
“That’s right. Aren’t you wondering why your clothes were changed, or why you’re wearing those accessories, too?
Listening to that, Nuchjaree stopped short. Her eyes looked down at her new outfit, and yes, she was wondering from the beginning where her Nemesis uniform was now missing to.
After processing that for a moment, she was blushing all of a sudden. She then gazed at Sven, making him pause instantly.
“Rude!” She snapped at him.
“Rude? Me?”
The man was surprised because the insult the girl in front of him threw at his face had nothing to do with their conversation at the moment at all.
“Who else could it have possibly been? You boldly changed my clothes when I was sleeping and dressed me up like a doll like this, too. What a pervert!”
“A pervert?”
The one who was called a pervert was stunned. He was pointing his finger at himself to make the other one recheck her words. Meanwhile, Bhira looked like he was dying to shove something in her bold mouth so much. Firstly, his leader was not fond of those with this kind of mouth, especially if they were women, he felt like Sven would dislike them more.
However, Bhira was wrong.
Because right now, he saw the tall body of Sven shaking. It was not shaking from anger, but it was from laughing so hard in a way that no one had ever seen before!
“Boss?”
