Chapter 389: Secret Meeting Part VI
Chapter 389: Secret Meeting Part VI
“You never learn, do you?” Wisana said with a knowing smile. “You almost got killed today, and you’re still asking for more? If you choose to hang with me, troubles are going to find you nonstop, you know? Because I am the god-tier troubles attractive.”
“Sounds like fun.”
Shin said with a change in his tone. And yes, that was the first time Wisana heard this kind of tone from Shin. Also, that was the first time that he saw this guy’s smile up close.
“What about your sister?” Wisana continued.
“I’ll repeat the same thing again, Vincent. Rak and I are not stuck together. So, I can do what I want to do.”
“What about your fiancée?”
Maysa asked, then she purposely glanced Waree in the eye like she was implying that, “I asked him for you”. And Waree gazed back at her to say, “Thanks a lot, but who cares about that again?!”.
“That’s just something our parents agree on.”
Shin said in a weary voice. He wanted to look at the woman beside him so much, but he was afraid that she would send him an angry look again. So, he placed his eyes on Maysa, before continuing to explain slowly.
“There’s nothing going on between me and Fah except for being like a brother and sister to each other. About the engagement, I’m working on a way to make it invalid now. Even though it’s annoying, she’s a good girl and I think about her as a little sister. So, I’ve been having headaches recently about how to reject her without causing hard feelings for each other.
“My goodness.” Maysa faked a high-pitched voice. “Your information was quite detailed, Mister Shindanai. But from what I asked earlier, I meant, wouldn’t your fiancée complain if you came to stick with us? But thanks for sharing your explanation anyway. Is there anyone you meant to share it with in particular? I think that mentioned anyone probably has acknowledged that a bit now though. But since the person’s famous for being a stubborn baby of the guild, this might be a bit difficult to understand.”
Maysa smiled knowingly after speaking. That was the first time that Shin got played by this woman as well. And he had to admit that this Maysa had been catching unnecessarily lots of irritating attitude from her boyfriend already!
Seeing that, Wisana cracked into a laugh. He then leaned his back against the chair and let out a long sigh, before glancing at everyone slowly.
“Maybe,” Wisana spoke up, making everyone stop and listen. “This will not be like what I’m thinking. Maybe we have to face something that is many times harder than this. And so, you guys still want to follow me?”
Hearing that, everyone looked at each other for a second. They could sense right away that there was an uncertain sensation in his voice.
After that, Waree curled up a wide smile, before sitting down beside her brother.
“And so, I stay with you still. Who would have left a troublemaker like you to do anything by yourself? And without me, who would have pleaded with you, right?” She said, before winking at her brother.
“I stay, too,” Maysa spoke as well. “No matter what you do, what path you choose, remember that I’ll always be by your side. And it’d be my pleasure to follow you.”
Wisana was speechless. The man just looked at the girls, before his hands pulled them into a hug softly like he was thanking them for trusting and being with him still.
“For me, I started to believe that I committed a great sin in my previous life.”
Shin was the one who spoke up in his gentle voice. On his face, there was a smile that made his good-looking dimple appear. He was lamely walking to Wisana, before letting out a small sigh.
“That’s why I have to be tangled with a troublemaker like you.”
Everyone cracked into a laugh because of the rare joke from Shin.
“Well, sorry that I’ve become your stigma in your current life, man,” Wisana replied sarcastically with laughter in his voice.
“So, I think, sticking with you guys isn’t that bad. So, if you can promise me that we’ll have so much fun from now on, I’ll promise you that I’ll follow you everywhere as well, Vincent.”
Wisana scratched his head. He looked at the other man and then shook his head.
“Yeah, I do. You’re totally going to die of fun.”
He said, putting his hand to the front. A sign was being implied and Shin could see it clearly, so he smiled. And Waree thought that it was the best-looking smile that she had ever seen.
“Yeah.”
After his word, two hands grabbed and shook firmly. Before Wisana pulled Shin closer, winking at him at close range.
“Welcome to the Nemesis guild, grumpy face.”
“Yeah, thanks for having me then.”
----------------
Inside a dark warehouse the size of a 5-floor building, there were many machines working chaotically, along with construction tools like chainsaws, drills, welding machines, and many more making noises in the background. There was also a structure that looked like a machine, approximately 80 meters wide and at least 40 meters tall, placed firmly in the middle of the warehouse with more than 20 players working busily to complete this item building.
There were many cords and cables hanging everywhere from the machine that were put together in one line, before linking to one spot. The spot where a computer was set on a metal bridge above this large item.
A girl with bloody red eyes was sitting behind the computer screen. It was not the only thing that was showing a lot of information there; there were 8 more information windows opening around for the little girl to key some information in.
“How’s it going, Angie?”
Suddenly, a voice rang up. The owner of it was Manoch who was walking to her with two cups of hot cocoa in his hands. The girl turned to look at him for a moment, before nodding in response.
“So far so good. I’ve installed 80% of the OS already. It’s expected to be complete in the next 35 hours.”
She replied briefly as Manoch placed one of the cocoa cups on her computer desk.
“Thank you.” She spoke.
“Sorry that you’re troubled for writing the system when you’re not even in our unit like this. But the only one that can do something like in the Nemesis is you.”
“No problem. I enjoy doing it anyway.” Angie said, then held the cup up to take a sip of the cocoa drink. “Oh, you’ve got a lot better at this, compared to the first time you made the drink, Mister Manoch.
“Sure thing. For our little Einstein, I got to do my best.”
He said and winked at her, making the one who was hard to smile start laughing amusedly.
“How’s the battle out there?” Angie asked.
“It’s over.”
“We lost?”
“Yeah, completely.” Manoch let out a short sigh. “But not because we weren’t a match for them, but because there were so many things that did not turn out as planned.”
After listening to that, Angie’s hands stopped working for a moment. She let out a sigh briefly, before hurriedly typing information in those screens again.
“In that case, this thing will be rushed to be in use faster, right?”
Angie said, looking at all this data in front of her, the top secret that only Wisana, Angie, Manoch, and a few players from the item development unit knew about. This was the most valuable information that was kept from everyone else, including Maysa and Waree, even.
Manoch sighed with mixed feelings in response to Angie’s words.
Originally, Wisana was the one who demanded to build this thing up, and Manoch thought it was senseless and impossible to do. But eventually, here they were, building it, thinking it could be the ultimate weapon to use in the late game of the war and bringing them victory.
But it turned out that they might need it a lot sooner.
“Right, we probably need to use it a lot sooner than we’re expecting. And I think this war will be more chaotic once this thing’s released.”
After speaking, he started at one of Angie’s information windows.
At where the words ‘Top Secret’ were written on the top.
And then at the two words below them. Saying,
