Chapter 382: Retreat Part IV

Chapter 382: Retreat Part IV

“Your ego is still strong even in a time like this, huh? Shin was trying to help. But why are you making a face like you’re mad now?”

“Mad? Who? Me?” Waree raised her voice.

Yeah, that was totally like someone mad. That was what Maysa thought, but she did not say it. Because it was kind of fun to watch her cheeky friend acting like this sometimes.

“Why would I care about where that guy went? I didn’t even care when he suddenly disappeared and came back again with a different title. I was just wondering why he joined our force and went to battle with us, that’s all!”

“Oh, you surely don’t care at all.”

Maysa started laughing, making her friend give her a warning look, which made her put her hands in the air as a sign of giving up right away as well.

“Well, he said that he sensed something shady in this, so he volunteered to help. And his sense was right. I think we need to thank him later.”

"Excluding me. I’m never going to say the word to that kind of person.”

Hearing that, Maysa cracked out a giggle. When she looked up at the sky and saw something flying in their direction. Then she curled up a soft smile, before turning to wink at Waree.

“It seems your kind of person’s here.”

“May!”

The one who got teased could not help but snap at her friend loudly. Her face was blushing a little, and Waree hid that away from the other quickly. She looked up at the sky.

And at that moment, she was speechless.

A familiar-looking tall man was flying down from the sky slowly with a large pair of light blue wings. They were carrying two more men in them as well. And most importantly, the three who were about to land were all in a seriously injured state!!

“Hey, what’s happened?!”

Maysa unintentionally shouted, making everyone in the area look at each other in shock. At that time, Wisana’s feet touched the ground. His light wings dried out like his energy was about to go dry as well, dropping his friends on the ground.

“Boss!!”

“Don’t get in. Give him some space to breathe. Don’t crowd around.”

“Miss Stella!!”

Waree hurriedly turned to call for that medical expert in panic. Because with wounds like these, even she was not sure that she would be able to heal them.

“I’m fine.”

Wisana who was lying on his back said in a delighted voice. His amber eyes glanced at each one of his people around him until they stopped at Maysa. And that was all to make his delightful smile become wider.

“I’m totally defeated.” He said, smiling so widely that his eyes narrowed.

“Don’t mind about that now, boss.” Maysa instantly yelled before she bent down to touch Wisana. “What possibly beat you up this badly?”

“What beat me? Well, it’s hard to say.” He said and cracked out a laugh, before turning to the other side. “Hey, Shin! Are you still alive?”

“Yeah.”

The quiet one answered in a soft voice. But to speak that one word for him right now was just as hard as climbing a mountain with bare hands.

Seeing that, Maysa started looking through every one of them consideringly. Wisana had wounds like he had been burned all over his body. Moreover, his right shoulder seemed like it got hit by something shaped exactly like an arrow.

Shin was not any better. His two arms were pitched black, looking like he just stuck them in a paint bucket before coming here. His face was pale like he had an ischemic.

And the last one that Wisana carried back with the butterfly effect wings was Tunwa. He did not have any external wounds, but his consciousness was totally absent. Anyway, he was confirmed that he was not dead yet.

“This wound, a curse?”

Maysa spoke with a concerned face. Her slender hand was reaching out to check on the wound.

“Don’t touch it!!”

But she did not even get a chance to touch her lover, because a shout from Stella interrupted her. Her agile figure in a medic’s gown was rushing toward the direction where they were crowding. The look in her eyes was both panicked and scared in a way that Maysa had never seen before.

“Miss Stella?” Maysa looked at the medical chief with a shocked expression.

“Sorry for startling you out, but you shouldn’t touch a cursed wound with bare hands, you know. There’s a chance that you might catch these curses as well.”

After speaking, the one with blonde hair cupped her hands to her mouth and started casting a healing spell softly. Then there was a golden light shining up from both hands.

“Leader Vincent, may I look at the wound?” Stella asked with a serious face.

“Don’t worry about me now. The curse only hit me by a fraction.” The man spoke up. “Could you check on her first? She suddenly got out and took the curse for me.”

He said as he slowly opened his vest shirt out, revealing little Mona Lisa who was curling up in there, looking like she was in pain. Her face seemed uncomfortable like she was having a stomachache.

“Oh, girl, Mona Lisa. What’s happened to her, boss?”

Hearing the question, Wisana slowly pushed himself up, startling Maysa before she hurriedly helped him with that.

“I didn’t get the curse directly. I was beaten up on the ground like that because of this wound.”

He said, pointing at the wound on his shoulder. The one that seemed like it was caused by an arrow.

“I think it’s a skill with some kind of numb effect. I barely carried these guys back here.” He spoke, then looked down at his child who was making a suffering expression. “But this girl literally ate it all in one bite.”

“Ate it?”

Everyone exclaimed out of confusion.

“We’ll talk about that later. But for now, Miss Stella please check on her and this guy here.”

He said the last sentence as he tilted his chin to Shin who did not have any strength left to get up at all. At the same time, Waree saw Shin’s arms and could not help but feel worried. But, of course, she had to ignore him and squatted down beside Tunwa who still blacked out.

“How about Tun? What’s wrong with him?” Waree asked.

“He’s fine. I’m the one who knocked him out.”

After speaking, Wisana forced up a wry smile, making everyone catch eyes in confusion.

“Long story.”

The owner of those amber eyes cut them off, before handing his girl to Stella. After that, he tried to stand up and Maysa had to place his arm around her neck to support him in this beaten condition.

“I haven’t seen you like this for a while.” She whispered. “Who did it?”

“Sven.”

His answer did not surprise Maysa. From what she had heard, Sven was an expert in using curses. What would be surprising was that Wisana countered him and did not get any curse on him.

“He did that to Shin, too?” Maysa asked.

“Yeah. He totally got us. His other wounds aren’t worrying, but...”

He paused, looking at Shin’s hands with a concerned face.

“Nam, please help with Shin’s wounds. You should be able to do it, but be careful, too.”

He turned to speak with his sister who had just stood up and walked to him. And after hearing that, Waree made an uncomfortable face without hiding it.

“Why would I help heal a player from another guild?”

“Because that is my order,” Wisana demanded in a decisive voice. “Stop acting like a selfish child, Nam. This is serious.”
