Chapter 381: Retreat Part III

Chapter 381: Retreat Part III

“Two is men who assault women. This kind of person is even worse than a cockroach. My hands always slip and kill them every time I see one. But I hope that you’re not one of them, right?”

She tilted her head to the side as she spoke, looking all adorable like an angel. However, there was not a kidding look in those emerald-colored eyes at all. William got a shiver running down his spine, before the man turned his face away, speechless.

He was feeling both intimidated and embarrassed that the girl he liked saw him in this condition.

And her words were like a thousand swords stabbing right through him!

After seeing that, Waree canceled her skill instantly, before giving him a bright smile.

“So, you don’t have any problem with my chief of staff anymore, right?” She asked.

William could only nod, and then grind his teeth when he accidentally caught eye with Maysa. And he swore that she was definitely rolling her eyes to mock him!!

“May, our players are in the safe zone now. I’m going to cover them right away!”

A moment later, Manoch shouted resoundingly, getting everyone’s attention to the battlefield at the same time, leaving Willam alone finally. No one cared about the troublemaker at the moment, because what was happening here was more important.

Especially those guild leaders, they were looking at Maysa with amazed faces.

She did it!

This girl could really rescue her guild members from the enemies. Come on now, was the Nemesis guild some kind of a monster’s nursery or what?!

“Okay, be careful with the dropping point. Are you sure that our people are all out though?”

Maysa asked with a serious face.

“Yeah, I am.” Manoch nodded in response.

“Don’t worry, May. If something goes wrong, I’ll cover them.”

Waree spoke up to make everyone relieved. And hearing that, Maysa nodded, before signaling to Manoch, “Fire.”

“Reload the flame bullet. Make it a droplet falling 20 centimeters to the left of the last target.”

Manoch then commanded fast, before the five players in his team started working right away. How they worked together made Valentine and Viper turn to pout at each other. Without saying a word, the two were impressed by the Nemesis’ work system a lot.

With, or without Vincent, their teamwork was still brilliant as usual.

“Fire!!”

BOOM!!

The bullet was shot out from the cannon. This time, its projectile was going up the sky, before dropping down on the spot, not far away from here. And when the bullet hit, there was not an explosion like the previous ones. Instead, there was a strong flame blazing out in a large area. It then kept catching to the sides like it was building a wall of flame to block the enemies out.

“A flame bullet, right? You’re using it to build a wall that the enemies can’t cross. That’s very witty and intimidating that you can come up with all these tactics in such a brief time. You’re unlivable, Miss Maysa.”

Valentine said smilingly, before turning to look Maysa directly in the eyes.

“If that’s a compliment, I’ll take it with my pleasure, Miss.”

She said, before rolling her grey eyes back to the battle in front of her, making sure if the enemies had really stopped chasing her guild yet. And it went as planned. The blue army had to retreat because they could not get past the flame wall. Moreover, Manoch and his team started reloading the next shot now.

And of course, that one would be another destroyer one.

The leader of the enemies’ army was quite smart as well because their main force distanced away from the gunner’s target point knowingly. The weapon caused some effective attacks, but its flaw was that it did not have much agility in moving the aiming point.

“The enemies are retreating. Now we better take the rest of our guild and the injured players back to our camp first.”

Waree suggested briefly. She looked at each of those guild leaders because as a Nemesis, she was the one with the biggest title at the moment.

Of course, everyone agreed with that.

“Ae, have Richie take the gunner back to our base. We’re retreating.” Maysa turned to give him an order as well.

“Copy that.”

----------------

The chaos increased every time more units were back to the base. And totally, the injured players they brought back with them were even a lot more than they had expected.

“Hey, can anyone dispel the death stone curse here? Go to unit three injury tent now!”

“Unit eight needs more curse dispelling potions, please. Also, any player who has healing skills, please go to unit seven’s tent as well, there’re many injured players waiting for treatment there.”

“Move, this one is losing too much blood, and cursed. Can you go get the priests to help? Damn it, why are there so many curses from the other army?”

Shouts and bawling were not as chaotic as dozens of players running around to help each other. Unit one to nine of the red pirate army seemed to bring a lot of injured players back, even though they had succeeded in capturing 6 out of 9 areas,

“We’re totally beaten up.”

Maysa who just walked into her camp spoke up with a hard-to-read expression.

Judging from the situation, she suddenly realized that the other army never wanted the areas to harvest the resources in the first place. They just wanted to cause damage to her side.

And she had to admit that ...

They totally did it.

She thought, before turning to look at the tent behind her and see many players lying around on the ground, exhausted. Some of them had bruises and wounds all over their body. Some got cursed.

“Our unit isn’t any better, huh.”

Waree was the one who spoke up. She walked to join Maysa with her face soaked in sweat. And the white apron she was wearing was covered in blood stains.

"That’s too much work for you, Nam. You were fighting in the battle, and now you have to help with the injuries when you’re back as well.”

“It’s okay.” Waree shook her head slightly. “Compared to other units, we’re the most damaged one. If I didn’t go help Miss Stella’s unit out, I don’t know how worse it would be. We can keep the ones who were brought back alive, but the problem is those who died in the battle.”

“How many of those?” Maysa asked with a serious face.

“43.”

Hearing the answer from her friend, the chief of staff held her hand up to rub between her eyebrows softly.

Her lips pressed together frustratedly.

“That’s because I messed up. That’s why half of our guild was eliminated like this.”

“It’s not your fault.”

Waree comforted her with a smile. She placed a hand on Maysa’s shoulder gently. She then shook her head to imply that, “There’s no use to blame yourself right now”. After seeing that, Maysa gave her a smile that said, “That’s alright.” in response.

“Another problem now is Na,” Waree said.

“Right. The others said that the guy would fly back later. And it’s been a while already, but he’s still not here. I just hope that that witty leader didn’t carry Shin out in a fight again.”

“...Shin?”

After hearing the name, Waree’s eyebrows started knitting themselves together out of curiosity.

“Shin that you’re talking about is Shindanai, younger brother of the Bunny Burner guild’s leader Valentine?”

Maysa stared at her friend’s face. And as soon as she saw that annoyed expression on it, even though the situation right now was very upsetting, she could still feel amused about this somehow!

“Your ego is still strong even in a time like this, huh? Shin was trying to help. But why are you making a face like you’re mad now?”
