Chapter 379: Retreat Part I

Chapter 379: Retreat Part I

BANG!!

The resounding sound was heard as the massive damage was shot out of the Nightingale gunner, shaking through to the base of the cannon. Even though there was a large metal core piercing in the ground to secure the cannon, the reflection force from shooting a destroyer bullet still pushed it back so harshly anyway.

“Hurry up and flick the shell out. Wait for the cannon to cool down for 3 seconds.”

Manoch’s yell echoed from behind the Nightingale cannon. There were 5 more players standing around the large gunner to activate the weapon!

“May, where next?” Manoch shouted.

After that question, the slim girl who was standing on the highest branch of a tall tree looked ahead. Her light grey eyes were staring at the target area concentratedly, and she saw that there were players struggling with each other chaotically. Then she narrowed her eyes for a second like she was aiming.

After that, her thin lips pressed into each other.

Then she sent her order to the team below clearly.

“Turn away from the same target for 5 meters. Fire against the west wind. Make it a horizontal shot.”

“Roger!”

Manoch responded diligently, before turning to look at his cannon station team. He then held his hand to adjust his glasses gently as his brain was processing something.

“Add two more degrees of the flame bullet. The enemies’ HP probably has decreased quite a lot now. We’re going to get those who came at leader Vincent next!”

“Yes, sir!!”

The cannon station team responded energetically before each of them activated their “create” skills together at the same time. Their work processes were having one player aim the cannon at the target, the second one would reload the bullets, the third would check up on the condition of the cannon all the time, and the other two would be the ones who created the bullets!

So, in the blink of an eye, a cannon bullet the size of a side pillow was successfully created. Wide-explosive pointed bullet, fire element, attack point 500.

“Bullet reloaded!” The bullet reloader shouted.

“Change the target from the same one by 12 centimeters. Tilt it down by 5 centimeters.” The one who controlled the aim yelled.

“The gunner has cooled down now. Ready to fire in 3 seconds!” And finally, the one who was the checker on the cannon shouted back to confirm.

Hearing that, Manoch adjusted his glasses again gently. His eyes were attentively looking out to the field in front of him, which was so far away that he could only see players the size of ants.

Nightingale Gunner

Attack Points: 2,500

Armor Points: 300

A massive cannon with extremely high damage. It’s suitable for attacking enemy units from a far distance. It might have high damage, but it cannot fire continuously. After a shot, the gunner will take 5 seconds to cool down before it’s ready for another one.

“Fire!!”

A second later, a decisive order came out of Manoch’s mouth, sending extreme damage out of the Nightingale cannon once again. And this time, the reflex knocked back with a powerful force, throwing the 5 players at the station to the ground scatteredly, too!

The bullet’s projectile launched forward straightly, before it hit the ground, followed by a loud explosion and bodies of the enemies bouncing off in different directions.

“Great job. This shot totally hit.”

Manoch snapped his fingers out of satisfaction, before looking up at his friend on the branch above him.

“How’s it going up there, May? You want some more? There’re still plenty of the materials we took from that guild’s armory.”

“Hold on!” Maysa shouted down.” Let me spot our leader really quick.”

“You still haven’t found him?”

“I think I saw him.” She said as she looked through the scope lens in front of her eyes.” But I lost him again. People are just running around everywhere now.”

Hearing that, Manoch let out a harsh sigh, turning to nod at his cannon station team, implying to them to get ready. After that, one of them flicked the bullet shell out of the gunner to prepare the next shot right away.

“What the hell is this?!!”

But suddenly, there was a voice of someone shouting in displeasure.

Everyone, including Maysa who was standing on a high place, turned to look at the newcomer in unison. It was a familiar-sounding voice that they never wished to be familiar with at all.

“Who allows you to do this? I don’t recall approving any of you to build a cannon to destroy the enemies like this!”

The owner of these arrogant words could not be anyone else, but the purple-haired guy, William.

The words that made 7 players of the Nemesis guild crack out a throaty laugh. Manoch did not even hide his disgusted expression, before looking up.

“May, your father’s here.” Manoch was being sarcastic in a delighted voice.

“Please don’t disrespect my father like that, Ae.”

Maysa replied briefly as she let herself down from the tree, before tossing her scope camera to her childhood friend to keep an eye on the battle for her.

After that, she looked at some arrogant man here and cracked a throaty laugh aloud, like she wanted him to hear it clearly. And when her light grey eyes looked the man directly in the eyes, William moved the corners of his lips up like a smile, even though his nerves were hurting right now. It was obvious that he was frustrated that Maysa was doing this without his permission.

And of course, there were 7 more guild leaders walking behind William, including Valentine who was smiling joyfully as well. And maybe that was why this guy was not acting up more than he was right now.

“Wow, Nightingale gunner, huh? I wonder if there’re more than 20 people who are able to build one nowadays, and even build it in such a brief time like this too. May I ask who the builder is?”

Valentine asked, looking surprised. Seeing that, Maysa smiled brightly, before pointing at her witty friend who just ordered his team to reload another bullet.

“This man right here, Miss Valentine. He’s Manoch, the creator of leader Vincent’s butterfly effect as well.”

“Aw, I see.” Valentine placed her hand on her chest in surprise. “If he’s the one who developed a top-tier item like that, then I shouldn’t be so surprised now. Just building a Nightingale gunner probably doesn’t take longer than 10 minutes for him, right?”

“5 minutes, Miss.”

Manoch bragged about his skill in a delighted voice, but his eyes were still paying attention to the battlefield in front of him. After that, he put his rough hand up, before flicking it down fast.

“Fire!!”

BOOM!!

Then he showed off the power of the gunner he built by firing it. The sound and the heat that came after made the guild leaders jump in unison. Especially William, who jumped the hardest that he almost fell to his butt on the ground.

“Well, well, the damage is very extreme. This is the most completely built Nightingale I’ve ever seen. Maybe after the war ends, what if I make a deal with the Nemesis to have Mister Manoch develop items for my guild sometimes?”

“That’d be my pleasure. But for the record, my price is remarkably high, Miss.”

“Can you talk about that later?!!”

Finally, when the patient was all short, William bawled out aloud with a red, angry face. Manoch pouted his lips out like he was mocking the other, before placing his eyes behind the scope and continuing with his job while muttering annoying things like, “Dude’s mad. Dude’s mad.”

“Why are you bawling like this, Mister William? This kind of manner isn’t a good characteristic of a leader, you know. What would your people think if they saw their leader losing his crap like that.”

Of course, Maysa would never miss the opportunity to mess with the other.

She was faking her voice to sound the most annoying to the man.

The one who was nagged pressed his lips together tightly, before pointing his finger at Maysa without caring about anything now.

“You bitch. Who allows you to build this kind of thing? Also, why ...why,”
