Chapter 364: Wolf Among Sheep Part IV

Chapter 364: Wolf Among Sheep Part IV

“And for the last unit, leader Vincent.”

She said, glancing back at the large screen behind her. The information on it was clear that there was no member being put in Wisana’s column, implying that Wisana had to work alone for his unit.

“This is a free attack unit. You have to get the feral point of the enemies’ force as fast as possible. Avoid small fights and let Mister Tunwa’s unit handle them instead. Focus on finding the strongest one among them and kill.” She sighed. “I’m sorry that there’s no one who can support leader Vincent in this unit because no one can follow his speed. I hope that you won’t have a problem with this, right boss?”

Maysa caught eye with Wisana who was standing in another direction. She smiled at him the most slightly she had ever done. Wisana looked like he already knew that the plan would be like this, so he shook his head like he was not bothered at all, before smiling back at her.

“No problems.” He spoke. “I’ve been playing solo since the very beginning anyway. It’s probably better if I don’t have to look out for anyone else.”

“Okay.” Maysa let out a long sigh. “I’ll give you a flare to proceed to the plan we discussed yesterday, which is going in to take over the area and fire the flare to signal the main force to send in the supports. Meanwhile, our force will have to block the enemies out of there as long as possible until the support force can take 100% of the area successfully.”

“Understood. Take over the area as fast as possible, then fire the flare to call the support from the main army into the area. After that, we stand our ground and force the enemies out of there. That should be easy then.”

After listening to that, Maysa curled a little smile.

She was going to continue explaining the plan to the members again, but suddenly, a hand was raised among the players who were sitting on the ground. The person’s face was tilting down, so no one could see their face clearly.

“Yes, Mister...?” Maysa was allowing him to speak, but she could not recall the name of the person who was raising his hand at all.

“I’d like to join the leader’s unit, please.”

“Yes? Could you speak again?” Maysa repeated because she did not quite hear what the man just said.

“May I be in the same unit as leader Vincent?”

After hearing that, everyone got silent instantly. Like Maysa, she had never thought that there would be someone who dared volunteer to risk it with such danger, even though the reputation of Vincent’s impulsiveness was well known throughout the Pride world like this!

But there was only Wisana who was narrowing his eyes at the man consideringly.

He was a tall man, looking healthy. He was wearing a beanie hat that covered most of his hair and a new member uniform that did not even yet have a stripe on the shoulders. Seeing that, Wisana slipped out a chuckle.

“This guy. That’s pretty smart.” He spoke up quietly to himself.

“Er, I don’t think so, even though you’re volunteering like this. What’s your name? Which unit do you belong to? What classes are you from? To be in the same unit as the leader is kind of...”

“It’s okay, May.”

Wisana cut her off with an amused smile. He glanced at that man who was tilting his head down still as if he did not want anyone to see this face over there.

Then Wisana turned to catch eye with Manoch at the items table, making the long-faced merchant force up a wry smile in reply, sticking his tongue out to admit that “It was me, about that uniform.” indeed.

“You can go with me. I like your guts. Can you come here?”

Wisana said, beckoning the young man to call him out of his row. Even Maysa turned to look at her boyfriend like she did not believe her ears.

“Boss, are you sure?” Maysa objected in a raised voice.

“Yeah, we’ll see...” Wisana turned to wink at her.

In a second, the man walked through the other members who were staring at him with a curious face. The same question that popped up in their minds was “Who’s this guy?” because all the way through the front, there was no one able to recognize him at all.

Finally, the man with the same height as Wisana came to a stop in front of him. He did not tilt his head up to catch eye with anyone at all. Maysa was trying to see the face of this man, but the more she looked, the more he avoided her eyes. Wisana saw that, so he curled up a big smile, holding his hands up and smacking them into each other with a loud...

SMACK!

The sound got everyone’s attention. They turned to him and saw that he was joining his hands on his chest after clapping so loud. It was a pose that made Maysa pause like it made her realize something. And when she looked at the one who was avoiding her right here again, she parted her lips to let the ‘oh.’ sound out right away.

“So, that’s the way,” Maysa spoke quietly. “Good play. This is going to work then. I can be relieved now.”

The girl said in a delighted voice, before snapping her fingers and the large information screen set the “???” in Wisana’s unit member list right away.

“Then we’re all set with the task assigning.” Maysa continued. “Now, chief Warunya will explain about the items that are being handed out to you all and how to use them suitably for the situation. After that, dismiss and go do your personal routines. We’ll meet again at 6.”

After that, Maysa headed out right away. She quickly grabbed that mysterious man and Wisana by their arms like she wanted to find the most private place to talk.

Right now, her head was in the cloud.

An expected moment was about to happen again.

The reunion of these two monsters was going to double the fun in the battle.

“If you two already knew this, why did no one tell me so I could have come up with a smoother plan than this? What’s with this crappy undercover though?”

Maysa started after the three of them were inside the meeting tent already. And hearing that, the mysterious guy slowly pulled the beanie out of his head.

“Well, no one noticed, didn’t they?”

His gentle voice rang. His black hair was glossy black. Those lavender-purple eyes looked sharp like an eagle. His lips were parting up like he was about to smile.

“That’s not the point, Mister Shindanai.” Maysa scolded again.

“Come on, May. At least no one knows that he’s been undercover to join our force like this yet, right?”

He said, before acting familiarly by placing his elbows on the quiet one’s shoulder. Shin only glanced at the other from the corners of his eyes, sighing wearily at this man’s habit of being too friendly without reading the mood.

“Did Valentine send you, or what?”

Maysa asked straightforwardly. The man shook his head in reply right away.

“I do what I think is right. And it’s obvious that your guild’s come after. And personally, I don’t like the behavior of the guy named William as well.”

Hearing that, the girl curled up a knowing smile immediately.

“Aw, you have such a high moral, Mister Shindanai.” She said as she elbowed him. “But I kind of think that your intention is shadier than that.”

“How?”

Shin asked with a tense face.

Maysa turned to Wisana before they both started cracking into laughter.

“A stubborn one, isn’t it?” She asked.

“No, a slow brain.”

“Oh.”

Then the two started giggling with each other, making the one who was being ganged up sigh as he felt strangely exhausted by this situation.

“Anyway, you asked for the uniform from Ae, didn’t you?” Wisana asked.

“Yeah.” Shin nodded. “Actually, he prepared another design for me, saying that it would have been the outfit for my position in the guild. But it’s useless now since I didn’t join the Nemesis guild. Also, I have to blend in without anyone noticing it, so it’d be better to wear the normal one. Luckily, your guild’s members wear the same uniform, so this plan is working.”

Wisana smiled at those words, before patting the other man’s shoulder softly.

“Don’t be too notable on the battlefield, too though. Your Four Seasons thing, don’t use it too much, you know?”

“I know that,” Shin replied grudgingly.

“This is not bad though,” Maysa spoke up. “Not only that we can fool our side, but this plan can trick the enemies as well. They would never think that our side would let two devils out in the battle at the same time like this. I think Na should disguise yourself as well.”

“You’re right. That sounds like fun. I’m going to go undercover, too, then. So, I won’t be targeted by the other army. We’ll take over the area before they even realize.” After speaking, Wisana smiled widely. “I’m going to call this mission wolf among sheep. How’s that?”

Hearing that, Maysa cracked up right away, while Shin was moving the corners of his lips up like a smile as well, but he covered that up so quickly.

“Alright, we’re about to go undercover to slaughter the sheep in the other side’s army now, Shin.”

“Yeah.”
