Chapter 347: The Night Before War Part VII

Chapter 347: The Night Before War Part VII

“Well, if you may excuse me, everyone.”

William said and gently held Waree’s hand up to press a kiss on it, making her brother’s eyes bulge so widely that they looked like they were about to fall out of the sockets. Maysa had to pull Wisana’s arm back with all her strength because this brother was clenching his fists tightly like he was going mad. Meanwhile, Shin did not say anything. He just looked after the girl, who was more beautiful than usual today, walking out of the table quietly.

In a short while, the two were in the middle of the dance floor. William managed to hold Waree’s waist, while she was placing her hand on his shoulder smoothly.

“D ...did you see that? Right in front of my eyes, he kissed my sister’s hand. Right in front of my eyes, he called her beautiful, too!”

“Come on, now. Calm down.” Maysa hurriedly soothed him.

“I can’t believe Nam’s into that kind of cheesy pickup line!” He yelled.

“Well, maybe, there’s not this type of guy in the U.S.” Maysa smiled wryly.

“Not funny!”

He snapped, before glancing at his sister with a boiling mood of concern and possessiveness somehow. Meanwhile, Valentine was smiling awkwardly.

“Ew, if there was someone flirting with me like that, I probably would’ve thrown up. That sister really has a weird taste in men.”

Fahsai turned to make a sour face with Valentine.

“I don’t think Waree’s actually into that kind of man, Fah.”

Valentine said with a wide smile, before purposedly glancing at her brother in the eyes. And he knew exactly what she was trying to imply to him.

“But well, that William guy is kind of a playboy, isn’t he? Even though his wording is a bit too cheesy, he’s already got many stars in Pride to date, too. I heard that some of them even built their relationship in real life as well. But this guy just dumped the girls right after he got bored with them, you know. To be honest, Waree’s kind of worrying right now.”

Valentine purposedly spoke in a louder voice, making Shin clench his jaws and make a displeased noise softly on the other side of the table. And Maysa could see what Valentine was up to right away. So, she started smiling amusedly, sneakily watching Shin’s action for fun now.

Moreover, there was not only one person who was provoked by that.

“He’s a playboy?” Wisana yelled again.

“That’s right.” Valentine smiled widely.

And that was all to make the big brother get up from his chair, making Maysa jump.

“Where are you going?”

“Isn’t it obvious? I’m going to keep Nam out of that cheesy man.”

Hearing that, Maysa barely grabbed the possessive brother by the arm in time.

Could he not spoil this, this silly man!!!

“Don’t worry. Nam’s old enough to take care of herself. You don’t have to be possessive over her too much.”

“How can I not be? That jerk is...”

CREAK!

Finally, there was a movement that made everyone at the table pause when Shin stood up from his chair. He looked at Fahsai, before pulling her hand up softly.

“You said you wanted to dance, didn’t you?” He asked.

“Yes? You’re going to dance with me now?”

“Don’t make me repeat that.”

Then he just pulled Fahsai away from the table quickly without saying a word, and that made Wisana frown his eyebrows, pausing his feet that were about to step toward the dance floor instantly.

“See? Someone’s handling this for you now.” Maysa said smilingly.

“Finally, it’s about time, jackass.”

Wisana cursed after Shin, before sitting down and looking at Shin intentionally pulling Fahsai to dance on the spot near Waree without even being subtle about it. He saw that those sharp eyes were gazing right at her, too. But Waree intentionally looked at William’s face only. And she was even dancing a little bit too close with the cheesy guy as well.

“Well, it’s Waree’s turn now.”

Valentine said in a delighted voice, making Wisana let out a long sigh.

“Miss Maysa, there’s a call from Mister Manoch. Would you like to accept it?”

Suddenly, the voice of Maysa’s AI named Albert rang up, making Maysa raise her eyebrows a little as she was surprised that her childhood friend called her at a time like this. So, she thought it had to be something urgent.

“Well, excuse me.”

Maysa said smilingly, before getting up to find a quiet corner to talk with her sassy friend.

“Take your time. Miss Maysa.”

“Hurry back, okay?” Wisana said.

Maysa nodded, before walking out of their sight. Wisana then glanced at his sister again with worry, but it seemed like Shin was already keeping his eyes on her. So, he could feel relieved that the cheesy man would not dare molest her or anything.

“So, this is my brother’s problem.”

Valentine was the one who spoke up in a tired voice, making Wisana turn to look at her.

“He’s that type who is hard to get along with. He’s not good with words and can’t express his feelings straightforwardly. I’ve been worried about this guy that I don’t know what to do now.”

After speaking, she let out a strange, exhausted sigh.

“What about the engagement thing?”

“It’s true.” She replied tiredly. “It’s something that the adults decided long ago that they would have their children get married together. I can get away with that because the other one is a woman as well. But Shin isn’t that lucky. So, it’s become what he’s uncomfortable with, because like you see, Shin doesn’t like Fahsai at all.”

Hearing that, Wisana forced up a wry smile.

“The kid seems to like him though.”

“Maybe so.” She sighed. “That’s why I’m concerned about it. After realizing that he likes someone for once, he doesn’t know how to show it, let alone express it in words. For him, that’d be even harder than to travel to Saturn.”

Wisana let out a laugh at the comparison that was simple to understand.

“But I hope that you wouldn’t block my brother out, would you?”

Suddenly, Valentine’s question was straight up to the point, making his laughter pause right away. He looked at the woman beside him, before pressing his lips together slowly.

“I can’t promise you that,” Wisana said smilingly.

“Why? Because he’s not good enough?”

“No, it’s not like that.” He shook his head. “He’s good enough. But that doesn’t mean a good enough person will always make my sister happy. He suddenly ghosted her and showed up again with a fiancée. I think that he’s made my sister feel so lost that she has to go out with another man like that. So, I don’t have to remind you how badly he is scored by me right now, right?”

Valentine looked withering down instantly after hearing his words.

“I understand. That’s why I told you this is the first time that he’s ever felt like this for a girl. He doesn’t even have an eye on any woman before, no matter how pretty they are. So, he doesn’t know what to do.”

“I see.”

Wisana smiled wryly in acknowledgment.

“It’s not any different for Nam.” Wisana sighed. “They both are new to this kind of thing. So, I don’t want them to rush but get to know each other better first. And when it’s time, after I find that he’s the right one to take care of my sister, then I promise you I won’t get in between them. But for now, I think that he’s not the one yet.”

Hearing that, Valentine could smile a little now. His words did not show the possessiveness he had over his sister at all. But they clearly showed the flow of love and care that a brother had for his sister.

After realizing that, she curled up a sweet smile right away.

“See, you really love your sister.”
