Chapter 341: The Night Before War Part I

Chapter 341: The Night Before War Part I

“‘Trust me, I’ve it all calculated,’ huh? Luckily, the result of that did not turn out to be the worst case. But if it did, how could you possibly have handled that? You jerk!!”

A shout came resoundingly from the slim girl who was standing with arms akimbo, ready to argue with everyone. Those light grey eyes looked like they had turned red now. If they could shoot laser beams, some troublesome man in front of them would have been shot by now.

“...But it all turned out fine, didn’t it, Miss?”

The one who was getting scolded poked his index fingers together crestfallenly. His eyes looked down like he felt guilty. However, if anyone else saw this guy in this condition right now, they would probably say the same thing, which was...

Was this really the same guy who had defeated Lord Inferno twice in a row?

“That’s not the point why I’m lecturing you right now, Mister Wisana!”

And the girl snapped once again in a loud voice.

Maysa managed to take her jacket uniform off, as if she could not stand wearing it anymore, because of the heat from her temper. Moreover, it seemed like the guilty one did not feel guilty at all.

Like a child! Maysa thought.

“Come on, even if Na kept his smart mouth shut during the meeting, I don’t think that the result would be different from this that much.”

That was Tunwa who spoke up with a smiley face.

“Marcus and Lavi had been looking for a chance to battle with Na anyway, right, Nuch?”

He turned to his friend for a backup, and Nuchjaree who was standing on another side hurriedly turned to give him a smile knowingly.

“That’s right, May.” She spoke. “I overheard when the two were interviewed by the journalists, they said something similar about having someone they want to fight on the other side of the army.”

“And they were just dodging it. People know that someone on the other side is just Na, and no one else.”

Tunwa laughed out loud, before walking up and sitting down beside his sassy friend.

“I kind of feel sorry for you that you’re getting too famous. You’re so hot that even guys are asking you for your attention as well, now.”

He said, smacking Wisana’s shoulder.

“Tun,” Maysa called his name in a sweet voice.

“Yes?”

“I’m lecturing our freaking leader now, and who allows you to sit next to him? You want me to scold you. Too?”

Hearing that, Tunwa made a sound like, “Oops” before hurriedly standing up from the mattress right away. He still managed to turn back to give his friend a signal that said, “Sorry, can’t help you” and Wisana let out a long sigh in reply.

“Come on, May. You know that’s just how he is, to act before thinking like this. You still haven’t got used to that already? You’re just wasting your breath scolding him. The guy takes your words in one ear to drain them out of the other.”

Nuchjaree roasted her friend burningly, making Maysa make a snorting sound out of her throat. Meanwhile, Wisana turned to gaze at his friend. But Nuchjaree winked at him with a soft smile in response.

“I know that he’s just like that...” Maysa let out a long sigh. “Actually, how the guilds chose sides wasn’t that bad, considering that our side got ace guilds up to 58 guilds. But the other side still has three out of the four gods’ guilds. That’s what I’m concerned about right now.”

“Aren’t you just overthinking it, May? Anyway, we also have Valentine on our side, right?”

Tunwa spoke up after he leaned his back against the wall by the glass window.

“I understand that the four gods’ skills barely have a difference if you compare them together. But at least Valentine’s guild is the first-ranked ace, you know. Don’t you think it’s cool that we have this guild as our ally?”

The man said cheerfully, but Maysa let out a crestfallen sigh and shook her head.

“It’d be good if what you said is true.” She spoke. “Valentine’s guild is the number one ace, but it’s determined by guild members, items in their collection, or the guild’s funds as well. If it’s determined by the leader only, Valentine will be ranked the last out of the four gods.”

“But a war isn’t determined by one person, May.”

Wisana who was sitting and thinking about what he had done, started feeling itchy on his mouth, so he could not help but share his opinion, too. And those light grey eyes sent him a deadly stare right away.

“You might be right if we’re talking about other players,” Maysa said. “But that doesn’t apply to the four gods. Those people are the real demons. You’d be wrong if you said that the war isn’t determined by the four gods, because one of them can destroy an enemy army with more than 100 players easily by themself. So, it’d be too sloppy to think that they don’t affect the war at all. At least not for me who has to plan the strategy out, because there’re three demons grouping up on the other side, but on our side...”

“Well, don’t we have like three, no, ...four demons on our side as well?”

Wisana cut her off with a cheeky face, making the listener frown her eyebrows.

“You don’t know how to count?”

“Yes, I counted it right, didn’t I?” Wisana smiled brightly. “There’re Valentine, Shin, Me, and you.”

He said, pointing at his girlfriend who was gasping like she was a little shocked.

And after hearing that, Tunwa, who was standing in another corner, slipped out a chuckle right away.

“Na, are you implying that your girlfriend is ferocious like a demon?”

“...!”

Maysa did not say a word. She just turned to gaze at Tunwa. And then the bad-mouthed one jumped, hurriedly turning his face away like those words did not come out of his mouth.

“No, that’s not what I’m saying. I mean the other team doesn’t have a brilliant strategist like this gorgeous girl we have right here. That’s why I’m not worried about it that much. My chief of staff has never let me down once.”

Hearing that, the one who got complimented started blushing, while the others were rolling their eyes like they were tired of this man turning every situation into an opportunity to flirt with his girlfriend and make her blush every time.

“Complimenting me like that still doesn’t make me stop being mad at you!”

Maysa said, before walking away. Finally, she sat herself down on the big bed on the opposite side of where Wisana was sitting, then she opened her information window up to cover her embarrassment right away.

Meanwhile, Wisana could finally feel relief, and his scolding session was already over. The others seemed to be relieved as well because Wisana’s pleading step still worked. So, their conversation could change to some other tuned-down subjects now!

“Anyway, this airship is totally cool. I never thought that those GMs would have something like this in their inventories, too. It’s too high technology that it makes normal players look so poor.”

Tunwa spoke in a playful voice, making the others slip out laughter.

“It’s not like they bring this kind of thing out in use that often, though. It has to be a very special occasion like this one.” Nuchjaree spoke up, too.

“Well.” Tunwa shrugged. “This airship is one thing. But I don’t know why we got dragged to this stupid party after the meeting like this when the guests on the party lists will be killing each other in a few days.”
