Chapter 340: Choose a Side Part V
Chapter 340: Choose a Side Part V
“Trust you on that, you have it all calculated, huh? See where that takes us? Three out of the four gods on the same team, how would you handle that? You should have let them pick a side first!”
Maysa bawled at Wisana loudly like she forgot to be formal here now. Meanwhile, the one who got scolded was rubbing his hand on his upper arm which was having a stinging pain right now.
“That hurts, May.” He whined softly.
“Don’t you deserve that anyway?” She said with a high-pitched voice. "And you know that electricity pole with muscles is targeting you.”
After her words, Marcus flinched, pointing at himself. And that made everyone’s laughter heard throughout the hall, including Wittaya, a close follower of that electricity pole. He burst out laughing so loudly that it made his boss turn to stare at him.
“And then what?” Maysa kept yelling. “There’s the Black Bullet Sven with them as well. Lavi, too. And how are you going to fight all of them? Ugh! Red color is suitable for the Nemesis my ass. The only red we’d get is blood shedding!”
“Come on.” Wisana tried to compromise with a sweet smile. “The result isn’t going to be any different, gorgeous. Marcus was going to wait until I chose first, so he could pick the other side in the first place. And it was probably the same for Lavi, too. These two just wanted to be on the opposite side of me anyway. Don’t be mad.”
“Don’t smile like that.”
Maysa turned her face away with a blushing face because that cute, adorable smile was showing up again. And no, the smile had always worked with her, but this time this guy’s impulsiveness was too much to be forgiven just because of a sweet, pleading smile like a puppy asking for a treat like this...
No way.
“Please, don’t be mad at me, gorgeous.”
“N ...m ...d ...damn it!”
Finally, she said and turned her face away wearily.
She just lost to these puppy eyes of this guy again!
He could be a presenter of some toothpaste products, really, since his smile was so bright!
Maysa whined in her mind, accepting her fate. Meanwhile, Wisana was grinning widely like he knew this weakness of Maysa so well. He was very satisfied right now, too, actually. He never thought that there would be someone who thrilled him even more than Shin did the first time Wisana met him.
Lavi of the Pandora guild, huh? ...Interesting!
HAHAHAHAHA
After that, there was the laughter of someone coming resoundingly from the meeting table, making the chattering noise around quiet down slowly. A woman who had been sitting quietly through the meeting was now laughing and clapping out of amusement. She had an attractive face and shoulder-length black hair. Her eyes were lavender colored and looked sharp like an eagle’s.
“What a fun guild of yours.”
The owner of the laughter said with an amused voice. Her smile showed that it was an honest laugh without any pretense appearing in it at all.
Seeing that, the couple who were arguing just now turned to blink confusedly at each other.
How would they not be confused, when this delightful laughter was from Valentine?
Yes, the Valentine, one of the four gods, the leader of the Bunny Burner guild, that one!
“It looks like you’ve become the center of this year’s war already, Mister Vincent.”
Valentine said with a cheerful face and that cute smile that Wisana could not help but smile after he saw it, too. It was such a familiar-looking smile to him.
“Well, it’s not easy being hot, I suppose,” Wisana said.
“Yeah, I agree.” And then she giggled after that.
The atmosphere felt a little bit less stressful after the loud smack sound Maysa caused. But when that was followed by Valentine’s laughter, it seemed like the atmosphere became brighter instantly.
This woman had a beautiful smile.
Just like Maysa.
Wisana thought to himself, before glancing at his girlfriend who raised her eyebrows at him confusedly.
“There’s only your guild left that hasn’t chosen a side yet.” Thada cut in because he noticed that the meeting was getting a little bit too joyful that it started taking more time. “But you take your time to decide, I’m not rushing you.”
Thada continued. But Valentine turned to give the GM a sweet smile cheerfully.
“Don’t worry about that, Mister Thada. I was torn between what side I should pick, too, at first. Because I have something I want to try as well.”
She said, glancing at Maysa without being subtle about it. And the one who was stared at knew what the other was implying since they both owned the Maya illusion guns.
“But a part of me finds that there’s something more interesting than that.” This time, she glanced at Wisana, before smiling sweetly at him. “So, I’m choosing this side.”
BEEP!
The sound of someone joining an army was heard, as well as the sensation that sounded more like cheering when one of the four gods Valentine had chosen the army for her guild already. Moreover, the army that she chose was...
“Red side.” Wisana and Maysa turned to catch eyes as they spoke up in unison.
“That’s right. I’ll be looking forward to fighting with you, Mister Vincent.”
Valentim winked at Wisana cheerfully.
And that was when a loud cheering noise screamed out. Valentine’s decision to choose a side really got other players some hope. Because how she joined the red side in the war would keep the scale’s balance to not lean to one side too much. And the rest of the guild would get a chance to pick their side more freely instead of getting forced to be in the losing one and the war ended in the blink of an eye like 4 years ago!
“This is going to be fun.”
Tunwa and Nuchjaree said at the same time,
“Then our side won’t be so disadvantaged. And it looks like Shin’s in the same guild as Valentine as well. So, it means that we’re going to be on the same party again.”
Nuchjaree said cheerfully, turning to the other two girls who were sitting next to her.
And she saw that these girls were completely still, especially Warunya who seemed to be staring at the stage in shock for too long now.
“Orn!” Nuchjaree yelled.
“Y ...yes? what’s up, Nuch?”
“Why are you spaced out? Valentine’s just chosen to be on the same side as us, you know. We’re not as unfavorable as we thought we were now.”
“R ...really? That’s great. Yeah, very.”
Warunya said and smiled at Nuchjaree. Her friend then turned to cheer with Tunwa, while she was looking at the stage again, straight to the small man who was sitting on the opposite side of Wisana.
That man,
It was really him!
----------------
“I knew you would pick the same side as Vincent since you’re so into him like that.”
The melodious voice spoke clatteringly as the owner of the voice clung onto the arm of the man next to her tightly, not letting him move anywhere.
“But this means that Shin’ll be bubbies with the guy again, right?” she said, then smiled widely. “It’s such a shame though. I kind of want to see you beat that Vincent guy up, but to have him on our side isn’t bad either. Because he seems to get along well with you.”
After speaking, she looked up to look at the black-haired man with those lavender-colored eyes cheerfully. But the one who was being stared at was not in the mood to talk, so he just nodded slightly in response. He glanced up at Valentine on the stage, and the woman winked at him after she caught his eyes.
Seeing that, he let out a long sigh.
“You didn’t have to do that, Rak,” Shin spoke quietly.
“What did you say, Shin?”
Fahsai, who had been clinging to his arm to the meeting, turned to ask as she smiled. And he shook his head in reply, intentionally saving his words. So, the girl beside him turned her attention to the stage again. And that was the moment Shin felt relieved.
But at least they got to be on the same side, right?
Shin thought, before glancing in another direction from the corner of his eye to where the Nemesis’ seats were. One of them had someone familiar sitting in, the light brown-haired girl with emerald, green eyes.
After that, she turned to him, and they paused instantly after their eyes caught.
Shin was trying to smile at her, but it was too late when the girl from the other side let out a soft sigh. Then she turned her face away like she did not care.
Seeing that, Shin rested his head on the seat wearily.
“Well, she’s totally mad.”
