Chapter 297: Black Dragon “Sarquros” Part I

Um...

A soft whining was heard as the little one started moving slightly under the smooth blanket and a soft mattress. A comfy cool night breeze was blowing against her youthful face until it made her red eyes open slowly.

In the first second, the owner of those big round eyes had to narrow for a little while to focus, before she was able to see the ivory moon in the sky clearly. After that she blinked a couple of times, unintentionally letting out a soft sigh.

“...When did I sleep?”

“Well, since the sun hadn’t gone down yet, brat!”

Angie got the answer to her question right away. Then she realized that she was leaning on the broad back of this troublesome leader, who would be her worst enemy of all time!

“Really? Then could you please put me down so I can walk by myself?”

Angie spoke up arrogantly. After she woke up, this irritating man became useless again, and there was not any other reason for her to cling to his back anymore. But in the meantime, the one who was ordered even raised his eyebrows, before snorting out.

“Using that tone right after you’re done using me, huh,” An indiscreet complaint was heard, then followed by a long sigh.

THUD!!

“OW! ...The hell are you doing?!”

Angie even grudgingly changed her expression. Her tiny hands were holding onto her waist, which she could feel starting to get bruised now, because of some jerk letting her fall from his back all of a sudden. She looked up and stared at this irritating man right into his eyes, but that guy just responded to her with a soft smile.

“What? I just put you down as you asked, young lady. So, what’s your problem?”

“Be gentler with women!” Angie snapped, tearing up.

Hearing that, Wisana sneered even more.

“Before you complain, young ladies should try respecting people, too.”

With that response, the little one pouted a little, but she got too lazy to talk back now. So, she got up quietly, before brushing the dust off her butt and looking around.

“Where are we?”

Currently, they were in front of a cave with sweltering weather spreading out of there. And that was how Angie realized that Wisana had taken her to the cave entrance at the top of the mountain, getting ready to go inside the dragon cave dungeon of the Drago Hild now.

“What? We’re at the dragon cave already?” Angie asked. “But what about the moon water quest?”

“I completed that when you were sleeping,” Wisana replied, unbothered. “You don’t remember anything about that?”

“Remember what?”

Hearing Angie’s answer, the sassy one could only force out a completely wry smile. So, this girl did not realize that she called down a thunderbolt to kill those members from the band of the moon while she was sleeping.

That was such a scary way to do things in one’s sleep.

So, he swore that he would never sleep in the same room with this girl ever!

“Nothing,” Wisana replied just to get it over with. “For the moon water quest, we just had to play songs to summon the God of the moon to turn the water in that pond into holy water. But the difficulty was about solving the puzzle. After you understood it, the quest became easy.”

“And a person like you could solve that difficult puzzle?”

Angie asked with an innocent face, but this action of hers made Wisana feel his nerves breaking somehow.

“Yeah! A person like me was the one who solved that puzzle!” He said and bent down to pinch the sassy girl in the cheek, making her scream and hit his hand confusedly.

In fact, it was a struggle for him to solve the puzzle as well, or it would not take him four to five hours to figure out that it was not just playing the songs randomly to see which one could summon the God of the moon out.

But it was combining those songs into one, which was quite hard because each song had totally different rhythms. So, he had to wait for the right timing to start a song and when to start the next one. Of course, that heavy metal song could not be combined with any song at all, because it was actually the clue. The first line that Whisper of Satan sang was the instruction to combine these songs and compose some new rhythms to summon the God out.

At first, he tried to put that damn song into the others as well, and he could not help but think that this god of the moon could be a bit hardcore as well.

“Are you fully awake yet, sleepyhead?” Wisana tilted his head down and asked, while he was managing items on his inventory window.

“Who are you calling sleepyhead?” Angie snapped.

“Good that you are, because the real quest is from here.”

The man’s expression did not look playful anymore as he grabbed a torch out of the inventory. Seeing that, Angie paused and stopped thinking about bickering with the other for now.

She knew right away what this man was going to do next...

“We don’t know what kind of dragon there could be in that dungeon. "It’s not like I know much about dragon’s kinds though. Anyway, we better be careful. Most of the dragons in this cave are more than level 80. So, if we make a slight mistake, we’ll go straight down to visit the god of death surely. You get that?”

“I do.” Angie nodded, before getting her scepter out. “Also, I have to warn you about something, just in case you don’t know it yet. Dragons are creatures with a fast hearing sense. Some of them have eyes that can detect heat waves and classify the type of other beings as well. So, you might want to put that torch away now.”

“Huh?” The older one raised his eyebrows.

“You can use your magic marble instead, water element one to hide some of the heat wave from our bodies away. Also, you probably know that dragons are very protective over their kind. If you attack one of them and it’s able to call its friends out for help, I don’t have to remind you that there will be countless of them in this nest coming to tear us into pieces, right?”

After he caught those ruby-red, cold eyes, Wisana unintentionally gulped his saliva down.

“Y ...yeah, I know that. I assure you I won’t attack any dragon. We just go in, grab an egg, and then we get out of there.”

“Good.” Angie nodded in reply.

His mouth said that, but his mind secretly felt otherwise.

Did this girl really have to build fear up when she knew so well that they were about to go into the dragon’s nest to steal one of their babies? No, she did not have to forestall him like that.

Now he was reminded of one of the Alien movies where they invaded the alien’s nest.

“A ...alright, then we hurry in and take an egg out to get this over with.”
