Chapter 284: Battle and The Mist Part II
Chapter 284: Battle and The Mist Part II
“I’m positive that it’s here, Master.” The AI replied as a map window popped up. “After we get on the alley between the Drago Hild and keep going for about two or three hundred meters, our destination will be there.”
“It’s so foggy here, though. I can’t really see anything.” Wisana said as his teeth were hitting each other. “It seems like we have to use Tiggy if it’s like this.”
“I don’t suggest that. Tiggy, the navigating pixie might be able to guide us to the destination, but there’s a chance that it might draw some monsters’ attention to us as well. And the monsters around here aren’t the type that we should mess with, trust me.”
“I see. Guess that I have to do it myself, then.”
He said, then looked around. After he still did not see anyone there, he took a deep breath slowly and,
“Time to wake up, brat!”
There was no doubt that the shout was heard resoundingly through the mountain pass. The loudness of his voice could possibly be heard by a village that was three kilometers away, so what could that do to the little girl who was sleeping soundly on Wisana’s back like this?
Of course, the one who was yelled at at such a close range jumped out of her sleep, humping her back and ejecting herself from the back that she was sleeping on for a while. Then she summoned her scepter in her hand, getting ready to fight fully. Seeing her being awkward like that, Wisana curled his arms around his stomach as he laughed out of satisfaction, while Jinnie was only smiling wryly as she felt like apologizing for her master’s behavior somehow.
“Yeah, you’re really good, I’ve got to admit that. Your reflexes are quite good. You woke up with a weapon already in your hand, ready to fight, huh.”
He finished speaking, before bursting out another loud laugh, making the one who was woken up in such a dumb way wet her eyes. Then, without wasting time casting a spell, she put the scepter against the other’s throat!!
“Hey, hey, hey, silly, shooting magic at me in this range will put me in a coma, you know!” When it came to this, even Wisana yelled out in panic as usual.
“What do you think you’re doing? Why did you treat me in such a lowly manner? Don’t you know I have low blood pressure? Getting woken up by this dumb way always makes me lose my temper.”
Angela said as she pressed the scepter harder against his throat. And finally, the older one put his hands up to give up.
“Well, all you did was sleep, and I couldn’t wake you up. Also, are you here to help me or slow me down again? At least help me find where to ask for my class quest, will you?!”
The little mage raised her eyebrows a little, before glancing around her. Right after she saw they were lost in some unfamiliar place and the concerned face of Jinnie, Angela grudgingly put down her scepter.
“Where are we now?”
“Planet Mars.” The irritating one still did not stop. “Obviously, we’re at, ...hey, hey, what are you doing?!”
He did not finish his sentence, because the same scepter was pointing at his crotch. The crystal on the tip of it was glowing with a threatening aura in the scariest way.
“Please stop annoying me. I’ll ask you again, once. Where are we now?”
“We’re in Drogo Hild. I answered, now put that thing away. It’s dangerous here, you brat!”
The genius girl only let out a snorting sound softly but agreed to put her scepter away. Her legs started walking and searching around them like nothing happened. Meanwhile, the one who got threatened held up his fist behind her back with nothing to say.
This freaking brat!!
It had been almost half a day since they left Nemesis camp, and the biggest problem he had so far was taking this sassy kid, his sister’s best friend like Angela, also known as Angie by everyone with him.
Of course, after he knew that he had to go on the trip with this sassy kid, he disagreed with the two girls without even thinking.
And what was the result?
The result was that the girls stared at him as they yelled out in unison, saying, “If we let you go on the trip alone, it’ll be as dangerous as fighting Ouroboros with bare hands!” so, he grudgingly took this little girl with him.
But since they were on the road, this brat had not done anything, except for clinging to his back as she drooled in her sleep through the trip! So, was she really here to help, or to be a burden?!
“And where is your class office?” She turned to ask him after she could not find anything around them except for the mist that was heavier than fire smoke.
“I wouldn’t have woken you up to help if I could find it.”
The girl gasped for a second, looking like she wanted to slap this irritating man in the ear a couple of times.
“Of course, not while it’s so foggy like this.” Finally, she chose to attack with her words. “So, if you use a little bit of your brain, you will know that you should make the fog disappear first before you start searching!”
“What? Is that an indirect insult?”
The older one was stunned by those disrespectful nagging, but the other one just tilted her head up arrogantly like her usual style.
“Anyway, can you make the fog disappear then?” Wisana challenged her.
“Easy piece of cake. I’m going to make you take your words that say I’m your burden back right now.”
After her words, the little one swung her scepter around, before pointing it into the sky with an orange aura glowing brightly around the tip. Suddenly, the aura turned into a fireball that was floating in the air.
“Fog is made of steam that condenses into water vapor, just like clouds. Except, clouds are made from temperature changes in the air mass lifting. Fog is made from the cold on the surface, or the increase of steam in the air. So, if we can make the steam evaporate, the fog will fade as well. This is just an easy science that even a monkey knows.”
Those theoretical wordings made his ears itch somehow. Wisana could only clench his jaws tightly, dying to talk back. But after seeing that the mist started fading away slowly as she said, he really did not know what word he could use against her. So, he turned to Jinnie who was smiling at him.
“All done.”
Angela said proudly when the thick fog that clouded their sight a while ago had faded and now that they were able to see the surroundings clearly again. She turned to Wisana with a smirk that could be seen as both polite and mocking.
But he had to admit that after there was no fog to cover the area anymore, the class office was a lot easier to find and it was just 200 meters away from them.
“Yeah, nice. Now I can go finish my business. Staying with someone for too long will give me a headache!”
He stressed his sentences aloud, before turning away in the most childish manner. Seeing that, the one who got ignored would never let that go, so the actual child ran past him, before saying,
“I don’t want to stay too long with a noob either!”
“What?!” The one who got called Noob raised his voice.
“Aw! How can you not understand what I said? Are you just pretending or are you really that dumb?”
She paced her feet away after she finished speaking, leaving the one who got nagged twice in a row frustrated, gasping like he was trying to calm his temper down. Then he started chasing after her angrily, leaving only Jinnie who was floating after the different-aged rivals with a laugh.
Sigh! ...Jinnie really could not see how their ages were different though (especially, their mental ages.)
