Chapter 243: Strike Back! Part V
Chapter 243: Strike Back! Part V
“Please be careful then. Don’t fight anything. You’ll die because your level is too low. Don’t forget that this area is under the Jammer Effect now!”
“I already know that!”
After shouting back in acknowledgment, Maysa rushed her steps through a small alley between the buildings there quickly. She knew that if she took the main street, she would possibly run into some of those huge and brutal monsters. So, she needed to avoid the direct ways and stick to the shortcuts for now!
“Al!” She called out for her AI.
“Yes, Miss Maysa?” Albert answered in a plain voice.
“Can you detect Wisana’s signal? Or maybe trace Jinnie’s?”
“No, I can’t do that, Miss. There’re too many disturbances.”
“You can’t find them through the guild’s channel either?” She insisted.
“No, I can’t, Miss.”
“Crap.”
The girl cursed frustratedly, before running out of the alley and continuing to the corner of the street. And in this case, she would have to keep searching for him by herself. Even though she did not have Thada to support her right now, she was sure that her running skill and eyesight were not second to anyone else as well.
Right now, she got to an intersection, and Maysa decided to turn right because she remembered that the explosion had come from that direction. After she took a turn, she had to widen her eyes as she leaped forward to avoid something just in time!
“KYAAA!!”
THUD!
Death just passed her by the tip of her nose!
Now the gorgeous girl was sitting on the ground, while she was panting fast out of shock! A few seconds ago, if she did not get down, her head would have been cut off her shoulder by now!
“Ugh, what is it now?”
She mutteringly complained while she was bringing the illusion gun out and tightening it firmly in her hand intently. And that was because there was a 3-meter-tall tiger that had a sharp blade as its tail appearing out of nowhere, the one that almost cut her head off just now.
“Tail-blade tiger in a time like this?”
Maysa complained to herself, because yes, the monster that she just ran into really was a tail-blade tiger that had an extreme speed movement and level of more than 80. So, now she had to find a way to escape from it.
Should she retreat to Thada...?
No! Before she could do that, Wisana would already be dead from this world for sure.
That guy was probably more fragile than a Pocky stick right now. She needed to hurry up and go help him.
After making the decision, the heart-strongest girl pressed her lips together tightly as she held the gun up and shot at the tiger right away!
Slow Shot!
1,632!
A golden light beam hit right at the enemy accurately. However, the damage she did was so tiringly small. Maysa narrowed her eyes, looking weary somehow.
The second after getting hit, the tiger managed to growl out and whip that sharp tail at Maysa. The owner of this slim figure got down to evade the attack skillfully. Or maybe it was that her special bullet had been activated now, so the tail-blade tiger’s movement got way slower.
And that was the chance for her to escape!!
It did not take long before the chief of staff turned into a runner and rushed her footsteps away from it immediately. Of course, the tiger was a runner, too, so it started chasing after the girl as well!
“Even though it got a slow short, it’s still running so fast!” She shouted loudly, while she was looking back at the enemy and seeing that it was getting closer and closer to her.
Should she turn back and attack it now...?
No, ...she totally should not. The Slow Shot already had strong damage by itself, but she only did a thousand and something damage points. So, it was obvious how big the gap between them was!
If she fought, she would not stand any chance to win. So, what should she do? ...The brain which was like an ultimate weapon was running fast. Those light grey eyes were rolling around the area like they were trying to find the best solution somewhere. ...She was thinking about going up to the top of the buildings, but the buildings here were too tall for her to leap on them. She might run into one of those alleys between the buildings, but if there was a dead-end there, then her life would end.
What should she do now, ...she needed to think faster!!
BOOM!
All sudden, there was a small bomb going off in front of her. Moreover, it was a smoke bomb that was releasing a lot of dull white smoke all over the area.
“What’s this...?”
Maysa ran into the smoke without knowing anything, not even guessing what the smoke was. But then, she felt like someone grabbing her arm and dragging her behind the corner of a building that was in the cloud of smoke right away!
“What’s going on, KYAA?!”
Moreover, that someone’s hand covered her mouth tightly as well. Maysa tried to wriggle away from them, but the one in front of her put a finger on their lips, implying that she should quiet down for now. And it was not long after that, the tail-blade tiger just ran past the corner without noticing them here. Then the one who was covering Maysa’s mouth let out a sigh of relief.
Maysa still had no idea who it was that just saved her, because this guy was leaning too close to her, who was pushed against the wall. However, the cozy scent of the one in front of her here made her feel something familiar about him instantly.
“That was close.” The man said with a joking tone in his voice. “Good thing that the smoke bomb worked, or we both would have been screwed over by now. But anyway, May, how did you get in the town?”
Hearing that familiar voice, Maysa hurriedly pushed the man away from her, before smiling widely.
“Wisana!”
“Yup, that’s me. Who else could it be to ride a white horse to save you?”
The other said with a big smile, even though his condition was all beaten up right now. The clothes he was wearing were all shabby and his face was covered with dust.
“But damn, you do it again. Every time I’m in trouble, it has to be you who shows up when I’m about to lose. You really are my chief of staff.”
She could not smile, even though she wanted to. Maysa could only look up at this troublemaker intensely. It could be said that she was examining every inch of his skin right now. After that, she looked up at him again.
“Weird. ...Why are you not hurt?”
“Huh?” The one who got asked like that let out a chuckle. “Isn’t it good that I’m fine? Why are you jinxing me like that? This girl.”
“It’s not like that,” Maysa said while she was holding her hands up to check him again. “I mean, look. You just went through an extremely intense fight with those item hunters, but your body’s not wounded at all. And you even look so refreshed right now.”
“You saw me when I was fighting with them?” The man raised his eyebrows. “They said that they had crashed the system down, so how was there a live broadcast about me fighting?”
“Yeah, I did. Everyone did. Vincent’s face has been revealed, too, silly.”
“Aw, that’s not cool. Maybe it was when I put on the Nemesis coat during the fight for sure.”
The cheeky one said, touching his coat that was now torn apart.
"It wasn’t because of the coat, but it was because of you, you silly!”
“Ugh, ...I’m right here, you don’t have to shout at me.” The one who just got snapped at held his hand up to pick his ear.
After seeing this unbothered reaction of the cheeky one, the one who took both parts as the guild’s chief staff and the young single mom, could only let out a defeated sigh.
“Anyway, it’s good that you’re not hurt.” She said and gave him a slight smile. “I thought I would find you getting beaten black and blue, but you just punched a hole in the town instead.”
