Chapter 241: Strike Back! Part III

Chapter 241: Strike Back! Part III

“Where do you think you’re going, mister freaking Nero? You still own me for calling me old, you know!”

Spear Charge!

1,862,410!

“UGH!”

Even Nero was stunned when Viola had teleported to be in front of him as fast as a wind blow, launched the spear out, and pierced it through his torso. The taller one fell backward with the sharp edges of the weapon sticking into the ground deeply in a way that he could not move a muscle at all.

“I’m really curious about how you would escape after getting fixed to the ground like that!”

The owner of the silver hair shouted resoundingly. A blink later, the slim woman rushed to Nero and grabbed another weapon that was floating in the air in her hand. And this time it was a rapier with a sharp tip to stab.

Hyper Stab!

1,057,881!

Nero coughed a lot of blood out after the rapier stabbed right into his heart accurately!

Viola did not stop there. She grabbed a saber, a moderate-sized single-edged sword, and cut him from the shoulder all the way to his torso. Then she got a Katana, a long-curved sword with a single edge to slash him horizontally from his rib to the middle of his torso. After that, she continued grabbing several types of swords to stab and slash all over his body. So, it was like Nero had become her personal sword holder right now!

Moreover, the immense damage that Viola had been causing from this deadly attack combo had passed 30 million points already!

Right now, she was placing the last sword that was left, a claymore sword with a suitable length and weight to her hand, on the enemy’s throat, like she was implying that she could finish his life at any moment.

The soft smile on her lips went wider. Those rust-colored eyes were staring at Nero calmly like the look in her eyes did not mean anything. But she was intimidating the enemy, letting him know that her level was many times beyond his!

“I told you, a pawn will forever be a pawn,” she said in a cold voice. “It’ll never get to the king, because the knight will take each one of them down even before it makes it to half the board.”

Nero was speechless, maybe he was just unable to talk right now.

So, he chose to smile, an unbothered smile that looked all cunning and made the one who was holding the sword against his throat raise her eyebrows right away!

“What are you smiling about?” She asked.

“HAHAH...” Nero started laughing amusedly even more.

“You find that nearly getting killed is funny that much, huh, Nero...?”

The more she said, the harder Nero laughed. Right now, he was shaking from amusement, even though he looked like a cactus because of dozens of swords that were stabbed into him!

“That was brilliant, Miss Viola!” He shouted resoundingly. “I knew so well that with Allen’s and my levels would never compare to yours and Mister Sander’s from the first place. So, do you really think that we would fight you fairly...?”

“What are you saying?”

Hearing that, she paused and narrowed her eyes confusedly.

“Are you trying to play a tricky mind game with me, Nero? And you think that I’d fall for that? Keep dreaming!”

She bawled loudly as she pressed her claymore sword harder to the enemy’s throat, making him bleed a little. However, Nero was still smiling widely with a dry laugh continuing to be heard all the time.

Viola felt like she was being mocked by the other somehow. No, she did not even need to pay attention to his words at all. She just needed to slash the sword in her hand at his throat, so everything would be over. But Nero’s words had something in them that she could not just ignore.

All of sudden, Viola stopped, cupping a hand around her ear like she was listening to someone whispering closely. Nero also noticed that there was something wrong with the person in front of him. After that, the rust-colored eyes widened instantly!

“Ran!” She turned and shouted for Sander loudly. “Stop. Don’t kill him now. Don’t attack at all. This is a trap!”

The warning was sent to Sander, while he was kicking Allen in the chest and knocking the enemy backward. He stopped and turned to look at his friend.

“What do you mean?!” He asked.

“It’s a trap, Ran. Don’t attack them anymore. They’ve planted some virus eggs under the town.”

“What?!!”

Even Sander gasped out of shock, while Viola was clenching her jaws tightly, feeling frustrated that she did not notice it sooner. A second later, she stared down at Nero furiously right away.

“It’s too late now, Miss Viola. How you senselessly attack me brings you disaster. Not only that, but every player who attacks the monsters in the town and how your son uses his crazy strength handling those item hunters, all of this is the best impulse for the egg to hatch.”

He finished speaking and then grinned right away, before narrowing his eyes at Viola.

“Do you even realize what you have done, you scum? If it hatches, the monster in there will become the worst virus that can destroy the game at any moment. And when that happens, your lives will end as well!” She snapped in questioning.

“Don’t get it wrong.” Nero smiled widely. “Since when did I say that I would have to die, too? Just so you know, even if Pride’s system gets totally destroyed, the dark zone won’t get affected by the Jammer Effect at all. Also, I’ll be able to control this monster after the egg hatches, so I can be relieved about that.”

“...You bastards!”

“Of course, we’re the villains, right?” Nero grinned broadly. “Now, let’s wait and see what kind of the monster from the egg’s going to be, shall we?”

----------------

CRACK!

A large thunderbolt struck on a spot in Dores town, followed by five figures of people standing and looking around themselves nervously.

“Hey, that was lit, just like riding a roller coaster. Can we do it again?”

An annoying voice was Manoch’s, the sassy merchant who seemed to be having fun with Thada’s amusement ride that had just teleported them from the Light Ring at the speed of light. And these words of the glasses man made the girls, Maysa and Waree, stare at him intensely.

“Well, it was fun.” The one who was being stared at whined in a soft voice.

“Let’s stop messing around for now.” Thada cut in. “We don’t have much time. The server’s so unstable and the Jammer Effect is spreading out wide. We need to fix everything fast.”

The owner of the amber eyes said calmly before he looked at Waree right away.

“Nam, I want you to take Angie and your friends to Anne. She’s probably around the center of the town. So, Angie can work with her to hack the enemy’s system and destroy it.”

Waree agreed professionally before she furrowed her eyebrows at Thada.

“What about you?”

“I’m going to where Vincent fought with the item hunters a while ago.” He said with a nod. “I’m still a bit worried about them. At least, I have to catch those hunters, and I have to check on Vincent as well.”

“I got it. Please look after Na for me, too then.”

“Sure.”

“I’ll go with you.”

But then, Maysa was the one who interrupted the conversation as she was approaching Thada.

“May, I think it’s dangerous if you’re going with Da. We don’t know what kind of monster would come out, and the Jammer Effect is especially strong around the area.”

“That’s why I have to go there, Nam.”

Maysa turned to smile at her friend. And Waree was stunned by her words right away. Those light grey eyes were flashing with seriousness, making the one who was trying to stop her lose all the words to argue. Meanwhile, Thada who was already speechless from when she first volunteered, grudgingly nodded in agreement when he turned to catch eyes with Maysa.

“Okay, then, Miss Maysa comes with me,” Thada said. “So, Nam and the rest go find Anne. And be careful, Nam. I think there are many monsters going wild around here as well. Try taking care of Angie and Mister Manoch, too.”
