Chapter 204: Belated Party Part V
Chapter 204: Belated Party Part V
“Right there, Tun. Stick it up nicely. Can’t you see that you’re making it out of place now?”
“Can you stop ordering me around? You wanna try doing it yourself? Also, why do I have to be the one who climbs up here?”
Two voices that were yelling at each other habitually were starting a new tongue battle for themselves, making the others in the area let out a long sigh of boredom. Especially Nemesis’ chief of staff who was now carrying food plates in both of her hands. She was tired of and impressed by Nuchjaree and Tunwa’s potential so much that they were able to pick a fight 24 and 7!
“They have to fight like that all the time, Warunya?”
Maysa asked the one beside her with a little amazement on her face.
“Uh, yes. Try to get used to that. They’re just like that. They even fight during lecture class sometimes.”
Listening to that, the gorgeous chief of staff, who tied her hair up in a twin tail today, made a sour face. It turned out that Manoch and she became a baby rival couple right away after comparing to the pros like them. They still bickered with each other even in classes, she got to give her respect to that.
“Where do I put these plates?” Maysa asked with a plain face.
“Uh, you can put them right there, on the big table.”
Maysa smiled back in acknowledgment, before bringing the plates with many types of snacks to set on the big table ahead of her. After that, she took off the pink apron she was wearing around her waist, before placing her hands there instead. She looked around at the atmosphere and let out a hard sigh like she was very satisfied that her special mission was close to being completed finally...
That was right, the special mission that Tunwa and Nuchjaree insisted that it had to be done, the party with an obvious sign hanging between two trees, saying “Waree’s welcoming party + Ouroboros’ defeat celebration.”
After seeing that sign written by hand and in dazzling bright colors, Maysa slipped out a laugh. ...Okay, regardless of whether the party was to welcome Waree, who just got back from the U.S., or to celebrate that they could defeat Ouroboros, but come on, why did they have to host it in such a cheap location like this?
The area where the party was hosted was just a valley somewhere around Dores. Could they not just put more budget into celebrating though? The only good thing was that they logged in to the game at nighttime, or else this party would be sweaty hot in the sunlight like the Kaset Fair (an agricultural fair held at Kasetsart University annually) surely.
“Master, you need to peel the onion like this. It’s gonna bring you tears if you keep peeling it like that.”
“Why didn’t you tell me this sooner, huh, Lala?”
After that, Maysa looked to another corner and saw those goofy folks from the Magic Warrior class office busy preparing the ingredients for the party’s menus. And today the barbaric master like Sander looked so relaxed that he was even helping his NPC peel the onions, though it made him cry a lot.
“Miss Maysa, may you excuse me.”
“Oops, sorry, Leonard.” The twin-tail-haired girl flinched a little, before moving out of the way for this huge pit bull monster to pass her by with two large water barrels that did not look like they weighed that much when they were on its shoulders.
“Reny, I told you to turn left. Follow my order.”
“Hehe, my apologies, Miss Angela.” The dog laughed cheerfully, before walking away with the little mage named Angie sitting around its neck. ...Seeing that, Maysa chuckled.
“Angie really gets along with Leonard. Well, kids just like playing with dogs, I guess.” She said, then laughed out loud.
They all looked more relaxed after they had defeated Ouroboros. And it was good for them to have a party as a reward for working so hard and for so long.
She felt kind of sorry for Manoch who could not attend the party, too. Because he was busy dealing with some business with his customers and modifying items in Tristan. She remembered when she invited him to come to the party, the guy shouted so loud out of regret right away.
“Sorry. I’m late.”
A moment later, there was another voice coming from behind Maysa. She looked back and saw a tall man who had black hair and lavender-colored eyes standing there with a calm, attractive face.
“I already thought you wouldn’t come, Shin. Those siblings will be so happy to see you at the party, too.”
“Yeah...”
The man who liked saving his words nodded in acknowledgment.
“How’s the situation in the town like? The news about us killing Ouroboros has probably been spreading all over Dores now, right?”
“Totally,” Shin said wearily. “Except for that they don’t know that the ones who form the party with me were you guys, or else your guild would have gained even more reputation. And before I left the town, many reporters there asked me so many questions about how to kill Ouroboros that it got me so annoyed.”
Seeing the quiet one complain like he had had enough like that, Maysa could not hold her smile back. She held up her hand to pat his shoulder softly with that cute smile on her face.
“There, there, I’ve been there. I know how you feel.”
“Those nosy people are so annoying.”
Shin spoke up for a few words, before letting out a long sigh. Then he glanced back at the face of the person beside him.
“Where are Vincent and Waree? They’re here, yet?”
“No, not yet.” Maysa shook her head. “Actually, we just contacted that guy to stall Nam’s time to be outside the game as long as he could, because Nuch and friends are going to have a surprise party for Nam to welcome her back from the U.S., something like that.”
Hearing what May said, Shin paused, before letting out a chuckle as he curled up his lips in a smile.
“Stall Waree’s time?” He repeated.
“Yes.”
“Then that guy probably could not stall her longer than 10 minutes, I guess.”
“Why is that?” The gorgeous girl tilted her head curiously.
“Nam, how did you get here!!”
It did not take long after that when Nuchjaree shouted out throughout the area, making Maysa look and see that the other girl who was the star of the party had already appeared. And she was even standing in the center of the party’s area with a good-mood smile on her face as well.
“I know what you all are up to now. No need to hide it from me. Na’s told me everything.”
“Na, you jackass!!!”
The one whose surprise plan was ruined into pieces yelled out loudly, sending Maysa and Shin who were standing from afar start laughing.
“Her insults for me are probably heard on that mountain, too.”
Then, another voice came from Maysa’s back again. She looked back to see the familiar, sassy one walking to them with his hand scratching his neck. Seeing that, Maysa slipped out another laugh.
“Well, that’s because you ruined their plan. Isn’t it?” Maysa retorted.
“Come on! It’s so annoying to keep it a secret from her. Also, I’m just so sick of this kind of stuff. Like, can’t we just throw a party for her and give her presents directly? Why would they have to make it a surprise?”
After he finished speaking, the sassy one walked in between Maysa and Shin, who seemed to be standing unnecessarily close to each other. ...The one who was squeezed away raised her eyebrows a little, but the other one, like Shin, slipped a laugh out instantly.
“That annoying thing you’re talking about is called romantic, silly.”
“Yeah, sure. The romance that was very nonsense.”
The one who lacked sensitivity moved his hand around as he glanced at Shin, implying to tell him to move a little. And Shin who was being cast away curled the corners of his lips up into a smile, before getting ready to walk away with the last words he left, saying,
“Jealous bastard.”
And the one who got nagged like that was speechless. He just made a voice from his throat, sounding like ‘Huh?’ as he was curious about what Shin just said. But the girl next to him called out to him first.
“Anyway, did you sign up for the Hunting Gate with the Association of Hunters before you left town? The event starts tomorrow now.”
“...Hehe, yeah, I did it. ...Anyway, May, you should check this out.”
And the cheeky one smiled widely, before bringing his inventory window up to grab something in there. After he got it, he placed it on his hand for Maysa to see. That item looked like a mini-ROM with text on the box, saying “Grade A.”
“This is the grade A ram that you traded your points with?”
“That’s right!”
Wisana smiled happily, swinging the item left and right like he just got a new toy. Seeing that, Maysa could not help but laugh along with him as well.
“Well, let’s just relax for now. The party tonight is going to be fun.”
“I think so.”
