Chapter 179: The First Assemble Part I
Chapter 179: The First Assemble Part I
CREAK
A sound of an old wooden door came with a soft whistling wind, making these young men and women jump right away, as they were walking in this solitary place.
The Ouroboros mansion was a place that was well-known for being ancient and terrifying. If one still could not imagine it, just thought about a place that was made of decayed wood. Inside the house was decorated in an old European style that had some full knight armor holding swords and shields in every corner.
It was so old that every time someone stepped their feet on the floor, it would creak back in response, or it could just break down easily like that.
There were dozens of creepy portraits of ancient people hanging on the walls. There were also fireplaces, candlesticks, spider webs, and everything that appeared in a haunted house in horror movies.
The surroundings made the party who came to visit creep out. And that also made some of these teenagers stick together like Sa-Ku (a kind of snack made of tapioca filled with pork) as they walked.
And then there were these three of them who were walking, unbothered at all. Moreover, one of them was like a mischievous child who could not stop touching the stuff around.
“You’re sure we’re in the right way, Shin?”
The first voice rang, while the owner was reading on the screen from a friend beside him, on which the text was running fast.
“Yes, we are.”
The owner of the nickname Zero-Celsius Prince replied with a gentle voice.
“We haven’t seen any monsters since we got in the dungeon. You just keep walking down to the basement like this. And the weather is getting colder now, too.”
Then Wisana rubbed his hands together to support his words.
“I’ve been here. So, don’t worry. We’re not lost.”
Hearing that, Wisana and Maysa caught eyes knowingly about something.
“You have?” Maysa asked. “Don’t tell me that you’ve hunted Ouroboros before. ...But the last time someone killed it was two years ago, didn’t they? Or that was you?”
The question made the tall one stop his feet.
Those amethyst eyes were looking in front of him as his lips slightly parted as if Maysa’s words reminded him of something. And the flashback from the past flooded his mind, the scene about the fight from two years ago, and a slim woman with blonde hair and green eyes. The elegant scene of her running to fight the massive monster like Ouroboros with a playful smile...
“What’s up, Shin?”
Wisana asked when he saw the man in front of him staying still like he was in deep thought.
“Yes, I was here two years ago.”
Shin replied, making the friends frown their eyebrows.
“I was there when the previous Ouroboros was defeated, I didn’t participate much back then though, only watched from afar.”
Shin said and went quiet again as the sweet voice of someone sounded in his memory instantly.
‘You’re all right, Shin? Be careful. You always need me to take care of you.’
Then he let out a long sigh and glanced at Wisana again. He did not say anything more, but just shook his head slightly, implying, “Don’t waste any more time about this.”
And the other two did not understand why suddenly Shin acted like this.
“Go two floors down, and we’ll get to Ouroboros’s room. Let’s hurry.”
“Yeah...”
They could only nod at Shin’s words in reply, before Wisana looked back to see that his other friends stuck close as they walked, at a snail’s speed even. Seeing that the guild leader frowned at them, placing his hands on his waist.
“Why are you guys so scared, huh? This is just a scene in a game. Hurry up, we’re about to get to the Oro-oro’s room now.”
“It’s Ouroboros. You stop calling it like that.” Maysa corrected him wearily.
And the group of scared people jumped instantly after hearing Wisana yell at them like that, ...making the one who was walking in the front as a holder for the girls frown.
“I already know it’s just a scene in a game, but Pride is not like the others. You’ve been playing for a while, and you don’t realize how realistic they could create? So, if something jumps out in a haunted mansion like this, I’ll be shocked to death for sure.”
“Right, right, right.”
It was no doubt he was the leader of the scared group because right now, the girls behind him started yelling to support him, especially Waree who joined them, too. And that made Wisana slip out a laugh.
“How is it possible? If something is jumping out, it has to be some local monster, then you just have to kill it. That’s all. Why are you being such a chicken, Tunwa?”
“Chicken your dad. It’s easier for you to say that since your scared gland is disabled.”
Getting the talkback, Wisana pauses, glancing at Maysa.
“See, I was trying to cheer him up, and this is how he repaid me.”
“Do something, or we’ll never get to the boss’s room by today.”
Maysa said with a delighted smile, showing that she was quite amused to see these many people get scared of the ghost so adorably.
“If you’re not going to hurry up and walk over here, I’ll leave you guys there. Shin’s already far ahead of us now, can’t you see?”
Wisana said Jokingly, but the others did not find it funny at all.
“No, you slow down and wait for us a bit. Why do you have to be in such a rush?” Nuchjaree said through gritted teeth, but she refused to open her eyes. She was just clinging to Tunwa’s back tightly, using him as her guide dog from the dungeon’s gate all the way to this classic setting of a horror movie.
“I really do want to wait for you, Nuch, but the time is passing. ...Don’t forget that Shin only has a few hours left for hunting Ouroboros.”
Hearing that, the scared party started glancing at each other as they were making up their minds. And then the sticky group of people tried to walk faster, even though that was more like a lump of something rolling there.
“Come on, faster. What are you guys so scared of, huh?” Wisana rushed them again.
“Don’t rush me,” Tunwa yelled.
“Na, if you want me to go faster, come pick me up. I’m too scared to walk out of the group to you alone.”
That was Waree, who was stuck in the middle of the group, who spoke up with a shaking voice, making her brother slip out an amused laugh instantly.
“There’s nothing to be scared about, Nam. Ghosts are not real. ...You can come cling to my arm though, hurry up.”
That was what he said, but this brother did not have any intention to go fetch his sister up at all. Maybe that was because Waree’s scared face was rarely shown, so that kind of made him interested.
“Na, you jerk. I’ll remember this!” And of course, he got praised by his sister typically.
Then Wisana saw another one that was walking at the rear of the group. It was a tall figure of Leonard who was clinging to Waree’s shoulder as it stepped its feet anxiously. Its tail that was always wiggling now folded up, ...so, this literally was the example of “having one’s tail between their legs.”
“Leonard, even you are scared of ghosts, too?!”
Wisana shouted the question, making the tall monster at the back jump.
“Please don’t yell too often, Mister Wisana. You scare me.” The dog shouted back.
“Come on, what kind of NPC are you that fears ghosts?”
“NCP can be scared, too, sir!”
