Chapter 145: The Opened Door Part I
Chapter 145: The Opened Door Part I
SHUNK!!
The sound came from the sharp end of the spear slashing through one of the enemies, making its black blood split throughout the area. The amethyst eyes flashed with rage. His lips were pressed together tightly, before the weapon in his large hand was swung to the front of him at full strength, cutting the monster’s body in half within the blink of an eye.
“Waree, behind you!” After hearing the warning, the slender figure turned, glancing her emerald eyes back a little, before tilting her head to evade that huge punch of the enemy like she had eyes on her back. Then she placed a hand on the chest that was covered in the soft fur of a Yeti with her lips lifted slightly like she was about to smile.
76,801!
An immense damage number popped up at the same time as the explosion blew a three-meter-tall Yeti away, crashing on and knocking down some of its friends to the ground harshly.
“Don’t linger over here, Shin. Keep attacking through the front. I’ll watch your back.”
“Um!” Shindanai agreed, before swinging his flame-red spear around fluently. Every direction the sharp edge of the weapon pointed to, the enemies that outnumbered them would be slashed down row by row.
The same with the young woman, the owner of the brown hair that was waving along with her agile and fast movements. Waree used her slim body to get into the crowd of enemies in the blink of an eye, before blasting the attack at them, knocking them against each other many times.
Moreover, she was walking backward in order to cover the blind spot of the man who was focusing on clearing the enemies out of their way in the front perfectly. Even though everything around them was all covered in snow, the buddies could still move forward steadily. They seemed to be even more agile than the Yetis that were the local monsters.
The man and the woman pairing up really made a perfect team with attack and defense. The timing and speed of their movements were getting along well as if these two pairs of legs belonged to the same person.
“Can you spot their pack leader, yet?!” Waree shouted after she could dodge another large fist of a Yeti that missed her just by inches away from her nose.
“No!” Shindanai shouted back. “The enemies are too many that I can’t see anything. I doubt that maybe someone attacked their nest, and that’s why they’re going wild like this!”
“I guess so, or else they wouldn’t be chasing after the players.” The young woman said as she frowned her eyebrows together tightly, while she was looking at the countless number of enemies around them.
“Normally, the leader’s likely to be at the back of the crowd, isn’t it?”
“It could be, but not always. Maybe it’s hiding and commanding from somewhere else!” The black-haired man replied as he used the other end of the spear to push a Yeti off him, before turning the sharp end to cut across its body in one attack. “These losers are way too many. Maybe, even if we kill them all, the leader will probably keep calling out more of them. ...this is tough work now. Damn it.” He cursed out of frustration.
“At least we’ve made it to the center of the enemies’ circle now. I think we should ask those two on the hill to help look for the leader for us to kill it and end this.” The young woman gave her opinion briefly.
“I agree!” Shindanai yelled while he was swinging the spear around himself violently. And Waree kept her head low, avoiding the attack range knowingly. But dozens of enemies in the attack range had their heads cut off, getting sent down to the ground.
“You already heard what I said, Angie?” She spoke through the party channel.
“I did,” Angela replied with a monotone voice.
“Help us look for the Grand Yeti. It could be in the Yeti crowd, on a hill, or anywhere in the radius of...”
“500 meters.” The man completed her sentence at the same time he reached out his hand to pull her up from the ground. As soon as she stood up, the brown-haired girl gave him a signal to hurl her up in the air. And the other just nodded knowingly in reply.
WHUP!
As fast as a thought, the slim figure got cast up to the height of ten meters. Waree managed to hold her hands out in getting ready, before releasing her magic spell that she had been holding right away.
Blade of Light
After she called the spell, countless light blades appeared in the air, getting ready to strike down at the enemies to death. Without hesitating, Waree whipped her hand, releasing the blades to attack the Yeti beneath her.
The blades of light poured down like the rain, piercing through the monsters, and sending them to the ground in the blink of an eye. With this one attack skill, Waree could wipe out almost half of the army of six hundred Yetis.
It did not take long before she let herself back down on the ground again.
“Help us with this, Angie. I looked briefly just now, and I didn’t see the Grand Yeti anywhere. So, I think it’s more likely to be hiding in the mountains.”
“Got it. Wisana and I will try looking for it.”
“Mage,” Shindanai spoke.
“It’s Angie.” The little girl corrected her name for him again with a serious voice.
“Angie... can you cast some explosive spell to bomb the Yetis around? Maybe if their number is lowered, the Grand Yeti would call out for its minions to join more. Then, you might be able to see something.”
“Why are you ordering me to do things?”
“Please.” he added with a gentle voice.
“Got it.”
----------------
“Awesome.” An astonished exclamation came from the one who was watching the battle from afar. Even though this was not the first time he saw his sister fight, he got to admit that the scene of how perfect they were in the fight together with both offensive and defensive was incredible. Even Shindanai who always looked calm could look savage like a different person when he had the weapon in his hand as well.
With their decisiveness and expertise in their skills,
These two were totally monsters themselves!!
How could they still remain unbothered by more than 600 enemies? Eventually, it turned out that those two were the ones who were bullying the Yetis now. ...It was just like an elephant crushing an ant nest!
“Wisana!”
“Yeah?” The one who was enjoying watching the show jumped when the little kid beside him called his name. “What’s up?”
“Don’t just watch those two. We need to help them find the Grand Yeti.”
“Grand Yeti?”
“They’re asking us for help,” Angela explained calmly, before she pointed her scepter forward, lips muttering something quietly. Wisana raised his eyebrows.
“And where should we find that Yeti leader? Is it hiding somewhere in the army?”
“No.” She shook her head. “Waree just checked, and she didn’t find it among the army. So, it’s more likely to be hiding somewhere around here.”
“Do you want me to run out there to search for it?” Wisana asked.
“No, you don’t have to. Just look for it after I use the spell.”
“Huh?” The inexperienced one raised his eyebrows confusedly. However, the little mage did not have a chance to explain more. Angela held up the scepter, before saying a skill’s name softly.
Volcano Bomb.
BOOM!!!
A large explosion occurred like a Napalm bomb dropped at a very close range, making Wisana drawback for a second. The heat blew against his skin strongly, even though the explosion was quite far from where he was standing.
The tall one narrowed his eyes as he watched the scene with a shocked expression, tearing up from the rising temperature. Was he in a scene in some war movies where the planes started dropping bombs or what?!
“Geez, it missed the large group for just a bit.” The ten-year-old made a displeased sound when her skill did not fall in the middle of the army like she planned in the first place. However, the spell still blew about 50 Yetis away anyway.
“Let me try that again.”
“Hey, hey, hey, are you crazy, you sadist. If you throw that spell randomly, Nam might get hit, too!”
